HybridxReality
I want to know around how much you've invested into your vinyl collection and around how many vinyl you have in total. I have around 42 and I've spent around $900-$1,000. Too many limited edition vinyl bought on eBay.. onwardempire

HybridxReality
I really don't want to know I didn't want to know either, until a friend asked me... at first it felt like a LOT, but I do love every vinyl I own, so that gives me some peace, I suppose. HybridxReality
Is it sad the I keep a spreadsheet of exactly how much I've spent on my entire collection? Nah, if anything it's smart. I think so, at least. You can see how much you've spent and if you should slow down, haha.
HybridxReality
I have no idea. I do have a $50k insurance rider to replace them in the event of fire or whatever I'm assuming it's a big collection, in that case.
Derek™
I'm sure there's a thread about this somewhere, but... eh. I'll chip in. I added a column to my Google doc a few years back, and use it to log purchases through the year. I clear it and start again on January 1st, every year. That being said... not counting shipping costs, I spent about $5,300 on vinyl in 2013. And $163 for this year, so far. I may start logging how many albums I buy each year, but I currently don't. Right now I'm sitting at 655 albums. 705 if you count variants, and 772 releases if you include 7"s. Not as impressive as some folks on this board, but as someone who's constantly pruning my library and holding onto the essentials, I'm happy with it. jhulud
Isn't there a thread called "what's the most you've spent on a record?" or something. That may as well be the same as this. Search isn't working at moment.
glass realms
I spent about $9K last year on music (most of it was vinyl). I lost my job in June so I was down from previous years. Previous years, I've spent between $10K and $11K.

HybridxReality
I figured there'd be a thread about it on here, but I'm new, so just wanted to make one of my own as my first thread. (:
Metal Mike
I once replaced the linoleum floor in my kitchen with vinyl. It was't cheap. Youinreverse and monsterrod
HadItUpToHere
Discogs says my collection is valued between 1000 bucks and 1600 bucks with 56 slabs o wax (be them LPs, or EPs, or singles) I got sucked into the hype of limited edition coloured records early on. Discogs value bugs me because a fair amount of my rarer records have never been sold on there. Probably at least 10 of them. But it's the easiest way for me to guess. xxbyaaahxx
I easily spend $1500 a month on records. ratbrain
maneatingcow
Damn, makes me think I need to find another job that pays me about 10x's more than I currently make if I want to compete with some of your Vinyl budgets. lonesomexloveus
marc32137
I paid about $3K for my current collection. And I keep a spreadsheet as well. (glad I'm not alone!)
somethingvinyl
I'm going to guess that I spent less than it's worth, but one never knows. Also, you should get it out of your heads early on that it's "worth" such and such amount. The amount of time it would take you sell it for what it's "worth," you'll probably just have a garage sale in a few years and take $5 a record. dethrock
I missed a few things but last year looked like this for me: Records - $2363.78 Shipping - $894.32 Total - $3258.10 The total is before the Canadian to US exchange, so it would be even more. radiatorhums
I used to keep a spreadsheat and eventually gave up putting the effort into it. I have mint keep track of my music spending (I lump together vinyl and shows) and it's accurate enough for my needs.
deafening
I started writing down my purchases awhile back by going through bank statements and saved receipts but I only got about half way through and didn't include shipping costs. Speaking of which... Shipping - $894.32 Makes me never want to buy online again.
