PO Now - Hum - Inlet (Vinyl out on Nov 6th, digital out now)

Recommended Posts

Listening now and up to track 3 and I'm convinced I need to get this. Getting heavy Jesu vibes. That's not a bad thing at all.  I wasn't sure what super grown up Hum was going to sound like.  It sounds good. Little bonus for analog nerds is that its highly likely this release is AAA.

Where are y'all seeing that it's limited? I'm as excited as anyone, but I don't wanna be too hasty to jump on $35 lest it hang around for a while/gets another variant.

it is released by Talbott's label and i can guarantee there will be no variants. 180 gram black vinyl will be all this is ever released on.

Nothing has said "limited".  I was just going off of the available stock in the shop. It was 2k when it first went up, and then was bumped up to 3k. So far 1600+ have been sold in 2 hours. Seems like they'd be incredibly dumb for this to be limited at all.

I think some folks were just checking cart inventory.  Polyvinyl is definitely known to do variants, Early Bird pre-order colors, etc.  Considering that it's been 23 years since we got a new Hum record, I would speculate that it's being released on Matt's terms and how he sees fit.

If a variant popped up anytime soon, I'm sure PV would be very easy to work with.  I've never had to cancel an order with them, but their customer service has always been on-point.  Guess it just depends on how comfortable you are having them hold your $39 hostage.

If this doesn't sell out by the end of the day...I'm going to question everyone's taste in music.

Got a text from a buddy with the PO link while I was driving and was afraid it had already sold out. Pulled the shit over and ordered with haste. Just now listening. Halfway through track 3 and my mind is blown.

this isnt on polyvinyl. it is just being distributed by them. probably because of how much of a shit show hassle doing the DIH repress was for him.

Still feel like this release was anything but rushed though, considering how long it's been and how we've all been kept in the dark.  Part of me would love to see some kind of translucent purple press done in the same vein as that Downward repress from a few years back... but if this is all we get, I'm very content and would rather hop on it than potentially regret it later.  FOMO will be the death of me.

About to queue it up now for a first spin...

Translucent dark purple or translucent violet would be killer.

Also, Ryan Smith mastered this album.  He also did the latest Caspian album. Along with Turnover and Nothing.
