Regarding the 2011-2019 anthology, as a release... I love it. I own almost all of it on the 12” EPs already, so I didn’t think I was going to give much of a shit about hearing it all strung together. But man oh man. I don’t know if it’s simply having more to digest at once — and not having to get up to flip the record or swap it out after every 2 songs, or load another playlist every couple of tracks — but I find it way more immersive to sit down with. A 3-4 LP set would be amazing.2 points

Ooh, I like that one. Side Question: Is it really a "2nd press" if the album's not even out yet?1 point -
That is actually the cast from The Brady Bunch movie, so I’d assume it’s the soundtrack. ETR putting out shit, insanely surprisingly and for whatever reason, people want.1 point

Meant to say that, too. Very much agreed. The ambient tracks are so good and truly breathe in the scope of the full record. Whereas I felt sort of “eh” about them when they took up half of each new 12” as they’d get released. I think they’re just as good if not better than the more active tracks on the compilation. Going into it as a sprawling ambient record from Burial just feels so much more rewarding to me.1 point

Funny, I seriously consider to have a budget of $1400 for this one and planning my trip from Europe. This line up would definitely worth the effort.1 point -

Gotcha. FWIW, I'm pretty sure US distros may get it, and also some other EU retailers with cheaper shipping options to the US.1 point -

M. Mogis is also a stellar addition to MoF. I always think of him as the Chris Walla of Bright Eyes, though I’m not sure how fair that is to either of them.1 point -

I agree with all this, but have some additional advice. Try to make your listing end on Friday or Saturday. People are more likely to spend frivolously with a fresh paycheck in their pocket. Secondly, and particularly for auctions, don’t have it end at some whacky time like 3 am. You want to incite a bidding war, so keep it at an accessible time for as many folks as possible.1 point -
I would really like for Greg's Action Figure Party album to get a vinyl pressing. It's one of my favorite jazzy/funky (primarily instrumental) albums ever. If I were younger and cooler I'd even say that it slaps. It has Sean Lennon, Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto), Flea, Jose Pasillas (Incubus), Yuval Gabay (Soul Coughing), and some other random musicians. Sorry for the sidetrack.1 point

PO: The Bird And The Bee - Interpreting The Masters Volume 2: Van Halen
OneThreeOneTwo reacted to jackshidt for a topic
I went to Bird And The Bee's concert last night in Hollywood (with Dave Grohl on drums). It was a real love-fest for the band, lots and lots of friends and fans. Dave was really cool the whole night. At one point, singer Inara George saw a middle-aged woman in the corner near the front who was holding up a small sign. Inara said "I'm not wearing my glasses, I can't read your sign, sorry", then she walked over to the woman and read the sign out loud. It said something like "Dave, you're my Diamond Dave. Could I have a drum stick please?" Anyway, Dave Grohl did that whole "aw, shucks!" thing, and walked sheepishly out to the front of the stage from behind the drum kit and gave the woman two drumsticks and a big hug. The crowd went wild .... The songs sounded great, btw.1 point
