  1. You don't want to hear Northlane's (?) timely cover of Anthem for the Year 2000?

  6. the variant sold out in one day. obviously, they underestimated demand and pressed more to accommodate more than the fans who got lucky enough to see it/the fastidious collector and flipper types. they announced they'd be upping the pressing #s the very same day, too. if someone doesn't like it, thinks their copy is less valuable or whatever, i'm sure Anticon will gladly cancel the order.

  9. This seems pointless. I'd rather just listen to Silverchair. Why are we at the point where we need a tribute to Silverchair?

  11. Glad you dig it, and that other people here like Thought Industry! They're one of those bands where I feel like... bad for them, that they never got the attention they deserve.

  12. Yes, I pre-ordered the X1X Project Scorpio edition (a stand and “Project Scorpio” lettering(who cares?)). It is pricey. Not really sure if it will be hard to get. I’m looking forward to the (hopefully) improved performance and interested to see how the HDR will look on some games. My X1 is from just after launch, so i’ll Be happy with the extra storage, quiet fan, and no external power brick.

  14. How is it so much to ask for just a nice pressing of Sorcerors Stone by itself?

  15. 1. Agreed. 2. From what I can tell, only the first 5 soundtracks were released on Warner Sunset, the rest were on other labels. So probably a licensing thing. 3. Agreed again.

  16. Got this last night, spun it a couple of times, and it's an average Iron Chic record... which means it's one of the best records of the year! The cover on this thing is rad as hell too. The gold emboss details on the horns and teeth add a layer of creepiness to the artwork for sure.

  22. I really enjoyed the sound of Low, but the volume drop on Heroes is totally inexcusable. I thought it might have been a bunch of older audiophiles overreacting, but that drop is so clear. The set is really beautiful, so it is a shame that such a significant track has a pretty major issue

  25. Mae sold out, shipped out, and then pressed more. you're complaining about a pre-release, day-of-pre-order-announcement decision. the distinction between the first 300 and the additional 500 in this case is wholly arbitrary (and moot given that there will not be a more limited pressing on offer). i watch the flippers and the extreme collectors on this board trip over themselves to sell/buy limited pressings of literally anything vinyl – i highly doubt any of you will ever start taking a pass on limited pressings for any reason ever lol. only the hubris of the collector-consumer would allow them to think that their relatively tiny numbers could influence labels to that degree, or that "selling out" (which is an arbitrary benchmark of success, given that any label could do it for any artist if they offered little enough stock) has anything to do with the goals a label has, economic or otherwise. fan-consumers make up the majority of a label like Anticon's sales. they fund the labels, they make or break the product, and they're who labels ultimately want to please. compounding the lack of (economic) power collectors actually exert is the fact that, due to complaints like this one, many collectors come across to labels as petty and materialistic in comparison with fans who want to support and play the music. it's a refrain i hear label owners on these boards echo constantly.

  26. Either I'm getting old or I just don't care anymore - probably more important stuff out in the world to worry about than a relatively obscure electronic artist pressing more records.

  27. Made it to Amoeba for the Edgar Wright signing and they are allowing us to get the vinyl signed. Had to buy another copy so if anyone wants to buy an unplayed copy let me know. It would be without the cover since the signed version is going on the wall and regular copy on the shelf. Woooohoooo so worth the drive down here from SF!

  28. Got my red copy today. Worst....shipping.....ever. Shipping box is way oversized and album thrown into it loosely with nothing but wrinkled up paper for padding. Haven’t opened the album yet but shockingly there are no dings or splits.

  31. Wasn’t MBV around $45 from most stores in the US when it was first made available? The price didn’t really drop until the hype had died down and product started sitting on shelves. I was thinking earlier today that if I hadn’t already told my local to order these for me I would buy from the MBV store now. $64 shipped seems like a lot, but if I saw all analog, 180gm, official copies of two of the greatest albums of all time sitting on the shelf in a store for $32 each i’d buy them without thinking twice.

  32. I’m not sure if they were trying to send the message of “here you go have three you baby” or if they genuinely thought “if we throw 3 into the same box surely one of them won’t get beat up, right?”.
