  1. Just grabbed what I think may be my favourite pressing so far from Neptoon Records. http://neptoonrecords.bigcartel.com/product/king-gizzard-and-the-lizard-wizard-polygondwanaland Packaging and labels utilize Jason’s artwork nicely, the vinyl looks awesome and it was only $18 USD shipped from Canada.

  2. Of course! The shoegaze noise is so dense & heavy! That's why shipping got jacked up. Duh!

  4. Unfortunately, there are no Decomposer or E Von Dahl Killed The Locals left. We make these limited to 1000. They are all numbered (so you know we don’t cheat). So once we sell them out, we don’t make more. We made 2 pressings of EVDKTL, because we didn’t anticipate to sell out of 500. But those went in like 2 days. So we ran a 2nd Press (changing the color of the vinyl to make it an official 2nd pressing and avoid being accused of lying). So, other than the copy I kept for myself, they are gone. In 1 day since putting it up, we are almost 3/4 sold of A Band In Hope. I guess better to be sold out than not sell out and be stuck with inventory. lastly, when we license the albums from Epitaph, the agreement is to do no more than 1000 copies. Sincerely, Mr. TheMatches

  5. Watched The Devil's Candy on Netflix last night, which is a pretty good Amityville/home invasion horror flick. The family is way into metal, so it has a good soundtrack with a small clip of "Blackfire" by our boys Goya, which was a welcome surprise. Worth a watch!

  6. Happened to be near one of the malls that has an FYE and went to check. Got lucky. They had one copy left. Was able to get them to match the price w/ the sale price online even though it's sold out.

  7. Other than 10,000 days, the masterings of all the Tool albums on CD have been excellent and have avoided The Loudness Wars, and even 10,000 days is still nowhere near the dynamic range compression levels we see on NIN and Red Hot Chili Pepper records...they've done a really good job with mastering. Hopefully that won't change on the new album. However for those that don't have $400 to plonk down on AEnima on vinyl, the idea of getting one pressed at one of the top houses mastered by someone like Grundman, Bellman, RK Smith, Gray, etc., cut directly from the original analogue master, it's hard not to get excited. If they're done properly and they do a box set, day one preorder for me. I went through two US copies (2006, using the same lacquers as the 1999 release) of Undertow and they both stunk compared to the CD. I listened to the shit out of this album when it was released, as an angry 19 year old sometimes with a brain full of acid, it is a deeply personal album for me...would love a copy on my turntable that does it (the album) justice.

  9. Out April 13 on Dead Oceans A Place To Bury Strangers have announced their new album, Pinned, coming out April 13th. Their fifth full-length finds them converting difficult moments into some of their most urgent work to date. It’s their first since the 2016 election, and their first since the 2014 closing of Death By Audio, the beloved Brooklyn DIY space where founding guitarist/singer Oliver Ackerman lived, worked, and created with complete freedom. Pre-order Pinned – https://APTBS.lnk.to/pinned Pinned opens with “Never Coming Back,” a frightening crescendo of group vocals, vertiginous guitar work, and bassist Dion Lunadon’s unrelenting bass. “That song is a big concept,” Ackermann says. “You make these decisions in your life…you’re contemplating whether or not this will be the end. You think of your mortality, those moments you could die and what that means. You’re thinking about that edge of the end, deciding whether or not it’s over. When you’re close to that edge, you could teeter over.” A couple of years ago, A Place To Bury Strangers made one of those big decisions Ackermann speaks of on “Never Coming Back.” They were in search of a new drummer and Lunadon met Lia Simone Braswell who was playing shows around Brooklyn where she had recently relocated from Los Angeles. After seeing her play, Lunadon was moved to ask Braswell if she’d want to come to a band practice sometime. While not only cementing herself as the band’s new drummer, Braswell also contributes vocals on “Never Coming Back” and elsewhere on Pinned, opening up a whole new dimension in the band’s music. “As things go on, you don’t want them to be stagnant,” Ackermann remarks. “Being a band for ten years, it’s hard to keep things moving forward. I see so many bands that have been around and they’re a weaker version of what they used to be. This band is anti-that. We try to push ourselves constantly, with the live shows and the recordings. We always want to get better. You’ve got to dig deep and take chances, and sometimes, I questioned that. It took really breaking through to make it work. I think we did that.” It’s a clear and honest statement of intent, not just for everything that follows, but for this band as a whole. 10. 5 TRL albums for $25 plus shipping. (Not sure if that includes double albums.) https://temporaryresidence.bandcamp.com/album/trl-2017

  11. The way I justified that this is that shipping should have been about 25 bucks So I paid 30 dollars each for a AAA well pressed record in a gatefold sleeve that an OG this clean would could me well above both of these shipped

  12. I know, we posted at the same time I wasn't replying to you. That's 3 double LPs these are 2 single LP packages so they def shouldn't weigh the same. Two 180 gram records are about .80lbs and theyre heavier than the jacket so that still wouldn't explain it.

  14. Royal Mail for 3 pounds to the USA is £17.20 or $24.44, again I'm not saying I like it I just think it's an accurate reflection of the cost they are paying.

  21. hey Mr. @TheMatches, Are there any Decomposer pressings left anywhere? I waited too long and well, now I can't find it.

  22. In case you don’t want to wait for a 12/31/2036 release date, I’d recommend scoring a nice OG promo press of Undertow. I don’t know the price today, but I got one off eBay a few years back for just under a $100. It sounds like you’re in the control room listening to MJK lay down the vocals live.

  26. I don't understand how Epitaph hasn't touched this bands back catalog. If stories and alibis can get pressed then at least the first two matches albums can Not talking shit about Matchbook Romance, but it's a similar market.

  29. Yet another album that I really want, but can't justify at the price point. New song is great, very Audrey Fall-esque. If the /100 starts going fast I may have to cave.

  33. Am I the only one who is on the one hand happy for SW that his solo career is that successful but on the other hand I wish he wasn't that successful so there was still a chance to continue PT? I mean his solo stuff is excellent (the last one was mediocre), but it's still not the same
