  1. You didn’t care for Ruins? Damn. For me, GoP feels like it’s over after you blink, and wasn’t nearly as interesting as her older stuff [including Ruins, in my opinion]. I’m eager to listen to this new release and talk myself into dropping $30 if it’s solid – the photos of the jacket make it look really nice, “limited edition” or not.

  2. I bitched on instagram about screwing europeans over (and people in the states not able to go to the shows) And he confirmed that there would be a wide release, just not in this colour way (so I presume black)

  5. New album from one of my favorites is up now for pre-order and first single "Undress" is up on Spotify. New song is cool but really stoked for the whole album. Limited red/black split is available, not sure if that variant is retail also. Will update accordingly. The Felice Brothers - Undress (Black/Red Split) $19.99 with free shipping Cut live to tape with very little overdubbing, Undress was recorded in the late summer of 2018 in Germantown, New York. Band members Ian Felice, James Felice, Will Lawrence (drums) and Jesske Hume (bass) teamed up with producer Jeremy Backofen to record their most personal and reflective album to date. “Many of the songs on the new album are motivated by a shift from private to public concerns,” says songwriter Ian Felice. “It isn't hard to find worthwhile things to write about these days, there are a lot of storms blooming on the horizon and a lot of chaos that permeates our lives. The hard part is finding simple and direct ways to address them.” Undress follows the band’s 2016 album Life In The Dark, and finds the group in a very different place three years later. Between personnel changes, families growing and the political landscape, the result is a tighter, more-paired down release. “Every song is a story,” said James Felice. “On this album everything was a bit more thoughtful, including the arrangements, the sonic quality and the harmonies.”

  8. Hey, it’s better than badwagoning or pretending something is a lot better than it truly is just to fit into a clique on a message board run by SRC. You like what you like. I also feel like I occasionally get on streaks where it may seem like I’m trying too hard to be a contrarian but it is what it is. I’m not here to impress anyone with my tastes or my thumbs-up / thumbs-down verdicts, as I’m sure you’re not either. GoP is tiny, yeah. A lot less standout moments than Ruins – I’m having a hard time remembering exactly where it goes because I think I’ve only given it 3-4 listens. Anyone else listen to this Nivhek today? First track stole the show for me but the others aren’t bad at all. Very chill listen that I found myself getting pleasantly lost in.

  9. I understand that but if it was such an issue that they didn’t want the bundle, there’s an alternative route.

  12. I can't afford the record but the album is astoundingly beautiful. Hopefully it's not too limited

  13. Backwards. This album is the louder, darker version of Death Magic, which shares a lot of similarities but has a few slower and significantly poppier tracks. (But is still quite enjoyable.) If you work even further back, you’ll get into their noisier, less structured releases which are quite a big departure from their current sound.

  14. I’m really digging Seeress today as well. It’s definitely no AOTY, but plenty here to enjoy & revisit. I like how each song is almost 2-3 songs in one. And that closer was a surprise but very beautiful. Love those vocals.

  16. Finishing up now & it’s so good start to finish. There’s a ton more depth to the songs & just so much meat on the bones relative to ‘Gehenna’. I even got vibes of Russian Circles heaviest riffs mixed in here. I feel like this album is a mix of RC & Audrey Fall. But where Audrey Fall got real boring over time, this feels like it’ll have staying power.

  20. I've gotten this before, it's a specific e-mail. I think you only get it when you are a lapsed member for a number of months. I received one in December but there wasn't anything interesting so I passed.

  30. Saw this on the Wiki - Fat Wreck test presses on Ebay https://www.ebay.com/sch/fatwreckchords/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= I remember seeing Fat Mike signing a big pile of these on Instagram a while back, so expecting to see more pop up. Be interesting to see what the cashed up Fat Wreck collectors are gonna pay for that Ronnie & Mags, damn.

  32. While we're on the subject of post-metal, that new Labirinto album is incredible. Just finished up my first listen and I know there's a tendency to get overhyped early but this is some of the best music I've heard out of the genre in a long time. All the right levels of energy, riffage, momentum, quality production, balanced vocals, etc... Seriously, don't sleep on this. https://labirinto.bandcamp.com/album/divino-afflante-spiritu

  33. Sectioned pre-orders went up today for their most recent album ''Annihilated'. If you're a fan of anything heavy within the Grindcore genre, you better not sleep on this. Less than 10 left: https://sectioned.bandcamp.com/album/annihilated

  34. This is about where I'm at, I'm sure the album will be solid but I can't imagine it'll be something I'll need to own. I rarely spin the several I have now with the Boris collab getting the most listens
