  1. Someone on social media said Trivium loosing to High on Fire is a modern version of Metallica loosing to Jethro Tull and I just can't even fathom that.

  5. New album coming out in April on Mama Bird Recording Co. No other real info other than a new song, and judging by the credits, it'll be an acoustic-only album. https://tunes.mamabirdrecordingco.com/album/in-the-shape-of-a-storm

  7. My copy arrived today... - I don't know how I did t pick up on the new artwork is just a foldover poster, only signed by one person... And it isn't even folded properly. - this is LITERALLY the same as the SRC press and even has the SRC HI-FI sticker on it. Really quite disappointing that they put out the laziest product for a 10y anniversary. Absolute cash grab.

  8. Someone with more insight and exposure to the VMP community can correct me if I’m wrong, but VMP’s forums feel like bizarro world to me. The little lurking I’ve done - on several occasions - suggested that there is a disgusting amount of bandwagon that occurs over there. I’ve seen several posts in various threads where someone is either saying “damn that variant is SICK and I absolutely need it because of how limited it is and how cool it’ll look on my shelf. Someone link me to these guys’ top 3 songs”. Or even “ahh fuck it, you guys are hyped for this thing and I love the album art so I ordered. Guess I gotta’ check it out on Spotify now.” I don’t know, it’s just really abstract to me. Lots of high-fiving and people who’ve never heard of X artist who is featured as ROTM, but are now instantly dropping $120 on their discography that VMP has restocked. Anyone else feel like it’s just a nesting ground for bearded dudes in their 30s to talk about alcohol and provide one another with musical outlets to burn surplus income? Because that’s the vibe I get and it’s just not for me. Any sort of negative opinion seems to be met with little or no tolerance, too, which is pretty lame. It all comes off as feeling way too hivemind-y from the bit of lurking I’ve done, personally. I’d rather stay on the slower, barbaric board if it means avoiding that. There is some established mob mentality here, and a bit of VC-core, but it beats trying to fit in by larping as one uniform middle aged hipster.

  9. You are speaking my language. I’m always bored and VC conflict is the best. Sorry for hijacking your thread, Paramore people. This stuff is important though.

  12. Single LP tour edition. The link/product vanishes when it sells out. Third or fourth time they've restocked it.

  13. Sold out... Sad I missed out but shipping to Canada was more than I could justify. I hope this pops up again elsewhere.

  14. It's definitely different, there are more zombies and Mr X appears much quicker. But it's meant to be shorter I think. It's worth it for sure and you can open up in game bonuses by finishing all paths.

  17. They seemed to overestimate the demand for that Veruca Salt album (which is one of my favs from the 90's). They posted 20 of them at $100. Didn't sell any so they dropped it to $50 after a few days and sold 1. Now they just took it down and relisted it as only having 1 for sale.

  21. Yuuuuup. I was already loving ‘The Dream Passes’ more & more with each listen but seeing it all live took it to the next level. That band is incredible live & every song translates sooo well.

  24. So, I'm pretty sure you guys already know about this band because I *Think* i remember seeing the name here, but I just saw TRENCH open up for Thrice on Thursday last week, and holy fuck!!! What a sound! They're from Syracuse, so they're kind of local for me. But I loved them because it was just big, reverbed out walls of sound with the emo vocal thing going on.... so I think they fit here. They kind of sound like Isis without screaming.... just hypnotic shifting between 2 chords, and then the loud/quiet dynamic. Fucking great stuff though, and they absolutely crushed live. I was very impressed. Check out "Liminal" off of Ritual Love for a good preview of their sound. https://trench-ny.bandcamp.com/

Really digging this 3-song demo by Mondaze I came across today. Slow, grungy, heavy, yet melodic at times. Love the drums’ mixing here. http://mondaze.bandcamp.com/album/healing-dreams-demo-tape

  28. I got no problem with you opinion, but where did you see them? Opening for Maiden? I saw them three times on this tour and with the exception of Maiden, they played Elizabeth and Ritual. And they may have played Ritual at Maiden. Still, I'd rather the dilemmas I have with bands I like be about ownership lawsuits and lost anonymity...
