Seriously considering waiting for the price drop though I have been waiting for a reasonably formatted and (I suppose comparatively) reasonably priced vinyl edition for this goddamn thing. What I would really like to see now is some modestly packaged reissues of all the past albums remastered with Lateralus having the original CD track order and just a basic playable copy of Aenima plentifully available finally for all the poor fucks who are pining for that album.

I finally got to see Men and overall, really liked it. Great performances, Garland's visuals are as good as ever and it'll probably leave a lasting impression. It's pretty heavy handed and I'm not quite sure if I liked that or not (still thinking on it). I also watched Watcher this weekend and it was enjoyable enough. A better than average thriller, but nothing new necessarily. Finally, I watched two turds. Abandoned and Revealer. Neither are worth your time

That's interesting. I didn't really get into Memorial or Guidance. Guidance was better than Memorial but didn't really stick with me either. Blood Year actually felt like a reinvigorated band with a more intriguing scope of song craft especially compared to the prior two. This new song makes me feel like we are going back to Guidance which actually feels like autopilot to me but with a late 90's proto-nu metal spice.

Tool is basically capitalism in band form. Incredible.

I always assumed this project was more known just as Blood Moon and not Converge ft. Chelsea Wolfe. I haven’t really thought of this album as a Converge album but that is probably just me. I would be far more into it if Chelsea Wolfe wasn’t involved. Do not like her at all these days.

Watched a movie on Amazon Prime last night called “Butterfly Kisses.” Came out in 2018 and it’s basically a “found footage movie of a guy who finds footage.” Focuses on a urban legend called the “Blink Man.” Basically if you stare down this tunnel for an hour, the Blink Man appears and every time you blink he gets closer and closer. It was fairly original and had a pretty good amount of suspense. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re into found footage at all.

I don't like commenting negative things, but it's not really Converge to me. I definitely agree with the above that it would have benefited by having a different name. It doesn't feel like the same band. Songs are soft and wishy-washy, many are too repetitive (Failure Forever a big example to me, I can't stand the cloying melody on it). I dunno. I don't like it, as someone who has been listening to Converge for a long time, and who considered them my favorite band for over a decade now. I always thought Chelsea Wolfe made (subjectively) uninteresting music and that sort of writing style leaked into this album big-time. Some people like that, I don't. WYW and Blood From The Soul already wore me thin with feeling either way too long-winded and soft to me (former) or phoned in (latter)... at least the Umbra Vitae LP was good. I did pre-order it the moment it was announced but ended up cancelling the pre-order (which I don't enjoy doing) because I couldn't see myself doing anything else except selling it when I got it. A big shame, to me, and certainly not expecting anytime soon to get new harsh Converge material. Oh well! I won't go on more because I hate being negative about independent non-radio-fodder music. I can tell the project has passion, but it just does not sit well with me. Should've not been billed as Converge.

I really love all four singles from this album so far.

The ads have become more and more intrusive as time has gone on. It used to be one little banner snuck in near the top of the page. Then eventually 2. At some point I noticed that there’s one that loads – very “conveniently” – near the very top of the browser on mobile, after you expand your notifications. Super easy to accidentally tap that one if you’re in a hurry or not paying attention. I tolerated all of these for a while because I absolutely do not support SRC or whoever VC is in bed with, these days, and I’m sure there’s costs for keeping the lights on. But a couple of months ago, the ads seemed to really ramp up in size and aggression. The worst was the heinous, oversized blocks that would appear between paragraphs in longer posts. But the tipping point, for me, was a completely vertical poster for… I think it was Alaskan flights / travel? It took up the entirety of the screen on mobile. I could see the forum’s color scheme peeking out from behind the edges of the ad, but had to scroll the total length of my phone’s display just to see the first thread, or reply, or whatever content I was trying to read. That’s when enough became enough. I went into the App Store and grabbed a couple of blockers for my phone. Desktop has always been ad-free for me, but a lot of my browsing is on mobile, and I’m not going to compromise when ads are that excessive and obnoxious. Haven’t looked back and can’t imagine trying to browse this site without some sort of blockers, going forward. Moral of the story: if you’re going to spam ads for revenue, know your limits. Ya’ll could’ve had me with a few modest banners here and there but ya’ blew it.

Not if you are trying to stretch it out over as many discs as possible to sell 1 album for 200 bucks
