With the "European" method, the fork remains in the left hand and the knife helps coax your food onto your fork. I was taught in culinary school that the American Style began as a way for the colonists to rebel against the Brittish culture they had removed themselves from and differentiate themselves. So in short, if you love the USA you switch hands, if you support monarchy and hate freedom, keep the fork and knife in the same hands, commie.

Are you asking, if people use a fork and knife to cut something on a plate, they then put the knife down, switch the fork in to the opposite hand and take a bite, THEN switch back to take the next cut. Every single time? That shit is fucking stupid. Only a Canadian, or maybe a Norwegian would do that

im not sure what youre trying to say with this? i couldnt make the show cause i was working in new york at electric zoo, so i contacted someone on facebook about getting it for me to keep my collection complete. originally i was just going to pay his ticket and he was cool with that, but once the band messaged back at me and told me they were /50 and only 37 of those 50 were available, i hit him up and told him id pay double cost and pay his ticket, to give him more incentive to try harder to pick up a record for someone hes never met. so im not sure if youre trying to be rude towards me for reaching out to someone to get me copy, or if im just reading you wrong because its text on a message board. feel free to clarify.

last year i taught a simple etiquette enrichment class for k-2 kids in my school's after school program, and in doing research i found out that the differences in fork and knife etiquette boil down to american vs. european. i believe american etiquette is to keep your knife in your dominant hand while eating with your fork in the other, whereas europeans will cut with their dominant hand, then switch and eat with their dominant hand as well. i might have them confused, but you get what i mean.
