  4. We haven't pressed this in a number of years so this time around we gave it the deluxe treatment. Hundreds of rare photos, flyers, a bunch of the WNYU songs that haven't been formally released, and a 7" of the demo songs. 2xLP on Yellow vinyl (with black 7") housed inside a gatefold jacket (the jackets we used in the 2004 version were awful). Pick it up on 11/27 for Black Friday. We just posted a list of participating stores on our website.

Hi. I'm new here. First time on a vinyl board of any kind. I searched, and didn't see any thread like this. A friend recently said he was going to buy me a certain record for Christmas, and I started discouraging it and suggesting other things instead. I figured this thread could be for people to think (absurdly) out loud, and show off their bad taste. Forgive me. Maybe people will provide me with more absurdly priced things to look at or other things we haven't gotten around to. 1. Foetus - DEAF! LP 2. Foetus - ACHE LP 3. Coil - Ape of Naples (3 LP set or CD) 4. Lee Hazlewood - Lee Hazlewoodism LP 5. Lee Hazlewood - 98% American Mom & Apple Pie 1929 Crash Band LP 6. Renaldo & The Loaf - Arabic Yodelling LP 7. Snakefinger - Greener Postures 8. The Manson Family Sings The Songs of Charles Manson LP 9. Ennio Morricone - The Thing OST LP 10. Jack Nitzsche - The Lonely Surfer 11. Andromeda Strain LP with Hexagon sleeve 12. Nurse with Wound - Surveillance Lounge 2xLP 13. Nightmare - Great Balls of Fire/Witch Woman 7" 14. Agony Bag - Rabies is a Killer 7" 15. The Five Blobs - The Blob 7" 16. Ron 'Pate's Debonairs - Raudelunas Pataphysical Revue LP 17. Hawkwind - Warrior On The Edge Of Time (LP, Album) 18. Les Rallizes Denudes - Heavier Than A Death In The Family 2xLP 19. Thomas Leer and Robert Rental - The Bridge LP 20. Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction, original banned cover LP 21. Peter Frohmader's Nekropolis* - Musik Aus Dem Schattenreich LP (1st edition has better cover art)

  8. Stoked to see there's some TP fans on here. @crabwalker I agree 100%. And the drumming is absolutely ridiculous too. I think if they had stuck around for another LP they would get as much, or more attention today than all the other bands of their era who get talked about way more - GB, Judge, YOT, etc.

  9. Awesome release! Neither of my local stores are getting this. Anyone help me out with a pickup??

  10. Not sure how or why I still don't own a copy of this. Hopefully I can find a way to get one of these. EDIT: Going to find and follow your instagram so I can try to snag a blue one if that's a possibility. Those look nice.

  11. I've yet to use Bull Moose points for anything, but... • Reliable: 100% delivery / pull-through ratio for anything I've ever pre-ordered, personally. • Very good about removing listings as soon as their allotted quantities are ordered; no surprises. • Excellent mailers. I've made a dozen+ BM orders and they've all arrived in immaculate shape. • No tax. This is huge. • Free shipping on orders of $25 and over. • Competitive pricing – usually even cheaper than Amazon. • Won't charge you until it the product is in hand, and shipped. • Super friendly, timely, and reliable customer service. My nearest record shop is about 25 minutes out, and the selection is grim. Anything worth picking up probably requires a 2 hour drive to Sacramento at the very least. The best selection I encounter, physically, is in San Francisco – and even then, I easily save money going through Bull Moose instead of dealing with Amoeba's markup. Their selection is so broad that it's very easy for me to tack on an extra LP or PO to break $25 and qualify for free shipping. Especially when everything is so reasonably priced. I'm not trying to advertise for BM by any means, but they've got my business for the reasons above, and I'm pretty comfortable giving them my loyalty until they do something to lose it.

  14. Sorry to barge in but... any big, serious Southern Lord record collectors here? For the first time in years I went thru all my LP's purchased between July, 2004 - Sept, 2012 and have over 70, sealed, color pressings with receipts to sell. The updated list will be available soon. The last time someone picked thru my SL collection was 2009 and I actually doubled the collection size after selling those 16 LP's. Also have a stack of 7's, shirts and cd's to throw in as bonus gifts or add-ons. Serious buyers only as I would prefer one large sale over dozens of packages. Anyone interested in a large, serious, private sale, and fill in some SL collector gaps, send me a PM. Dave

  18. I would argue there is no trend. They have a high success rate with pre-orders (100% from personal experience), and that speaks volumes. Customer service rocks. Prices are friendly. Returns are painless as well. Is that not enough? I have absolutely no clue what "scene-points"/"punk-points" are, and I'm the one laughing at you for suggesting such nonsense. I'm a bit perplexed how a vinyl enthusiast (don't you work at a distribution center, too?) can remain so clueless about who is arguably the leader (or one of) in online vinyl sales.

  19. a little late, but yesterday's lunch. alambre taco plate. right before i squeezed the green salsa container too hard and it exploded everywhere. looks like a pile of meat, but it actually turns into 3 tacos.

  20. The obvious answer being I didn't order from TurntableLab/etc., so why should I care if they fulfill their orders? I have zero level of "concern" with Bullmoose. I pre-order with them almost exclusively, and have nothing but excellent things to say about them and their customer service.

  23. The first manufacturer that springs to mind as a good match for your NAD is Rotel, but also AMC which might be easier to find in the US As a note though the pre amp has more effect on shaping the sound than the power stage but it does of course still have an effect and a poor power amp will severely restrict your pre amp

  28. There's a question that I like to bring up to people, it being- if you had to go without either music or movies for the rest of your life, which would you choose? My girl and I differ because she could go without movies; however, even as a musician, I would choose a life without music over a life without movies. With that said, this is going to be really freaking tough to, so here's my list as of this moment, though it will change within minutes, and I also put 11 on here because I can, so suck it. In no particular order... -Shawshank Redemption -Good Will Hunting -Fight Club -Whiplash -High Fidelity -Se7en -The Grapes of Wrath -The Dark Knight -Nightmare on Elm Street -My Girl -Vanilla Sky

  31. Got my package a couple days ago. Couldn't wait to open it. I've been sick and my throat hurt when I opened it, but I made a video! Sorry if its hard to hear me, my throat was hurting pretty bad that day. I didn't get any hints besides the tracking number. I looked at that and it came from California. Did some cross referencing and I am making a complete wild guess that "irxnmaiden" was my SS. Whether I am right or now... THANK YOU! I needed those two records and am very excited to own them now! You really made my day! and my birthday is coming up so its a great early birthday present too! Thanks so much! *Final Note* I'm sure someone will say something so... I have one record framed. Its a shitty pressing that doesn't play correctly so I threw it on my wall. Sue me. haha
