  2. gotta say i'm bummed about this. a lot of good memories associated with them from back when I was younger. Oddly enough listening to their music and going and seeing their shows was a bond me and my mom share. We used to jam bullets and three cheers in the family van all the time, and she took me to see them a couple times when they were touring with reggie and alkaline trio. When I was a freshman, she snuck me out of school to drive to chicago for one of the black parade release shows. Half way through black parades touring cycle she got sick with major heart problems and ovarian cancer, but thankfully she got better and we went to a shit ton more shows. I cherish the shit out of those times. If anything, going to see them with my cool ass mom is what i'm gonna miss most about them being gone. sorry for the lame ass story!

  3. Next time we do something like this I might just press a record that is exclusive to the bags. I sincerely had not considered how many people would join in! The funny thing is that once I started assembling the LP bags I realized just how crazy this deal was... And how in love with all these records I still am. There are stories inside all of them for me. Someday I need to start telling them! Well, maybe not ALL of them, haha!

    Drive Soundtrack?

That's the point, you're left to fill in the blanks about the driver's past. It's basically a new age film noir, in the way it's shot (low lighting, camera angles) and in overall tone. There doesn't have to be any positive outcome for the main characters, which is something people I saw it with questioned, and the morality of the driver is left intentionally ambiguous. You know he's probably not a good person, judging by the way he snaps in certain scenes, let alone his profession, but he only seems to want to help the other characters in the film. Yes, there is little dialogue but the music/cinematography/actions of characters are meant to make up for that.

    My Chemical Romance Break Up

What the fuck does this say? What's even better is Absolute Punk, EVERY band that breaks up - how matter how big they were or weren't, if it was public that they had troubles or not or if it comes out of no place there is ALWAYS the "I can't say I'm not surprised!" "Saw this coming!" "Well I think we all knew this would happen." Oh, you did? I didn't know that were close to the band, that you worked with them or for the label. Then you have Jason Tate who thinks he's God and that miserable fuck ACA. Lol. You are 15.......................................

Also, it'd be nice if the league disciplinarian learned the rules. "42.1 Charging - A minor or major penalty shall be imposed on a player who skates or jumps into, or charges an opponent in any manner." "43.1 Checking from Behind – A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed." "45.1 Elbowing - Elbowing shall mean the use of an extended elbow in a manner that may or may not cause injury." doesn't say anything about "when targeting the head". Leaving your feet is leaving your feet.

  19. I still want the Magnolia Electric Co Sojourner set on vinyl. Probably won't happen now with Molina's death, but one can hope. Maybe a set of his work that he was developing before he died.

  30. People are still trying to blame HT for this in any capacity? HT orders the records from Universal > Universal sends to press, handles all artwork/labels/pressing plant queries > pressing plant ships them to HT's distribution centers > people working at distribution center may or may not even know who Finch is let alone know what the art is supposed to look like > you get product in the mail Travis gets his copies from a store, just like everyone else. No one but the dude at Universal who approved the art saw it before it was out into the world & it's a little late to recall them at this point. Sure, *something* could be done, but I personally like to see creative folks like gkersey and Patrick do something fun and unique. It gives the release a little more character in the long run.

  32. Hi Danny and welcome to the Vinyl Collective. If you take a look around, you'll notice a separate forum for posting sales; your eBay thread will be welcomed there. As for determining the market value of a record based on past sales, two websites at your disposal are http://popsike.com/ and http://collectorsfrenzy.com/

    Taylor Swift - Red

One of the best shows I've been to. Awesome, awesome production last night. If you can hoard off the throngs of teenage girls, I highly recommend checking out this tour. Take a girl with you if it makes you more comfortable. If you are a girl, try not to get too wet - she's super hawt

  37. I will be in the UK a week after RSD - if any Brits can tip me off to where there are possibly leftovers I will hand carry stuff back and ship from the US to save us some money. This of course relies on things not selling out.

  38. It had better be Jesse & The Rippers. It's been how many years, and we still haven't had a chance to hear 'Forever' on vinyl. Enough is enough.

  39. I am posting this here and in the Finch thread, so... The die-cut sleeves are designed and the first one is cut. This is what they look like. A few things. Due to paper size, these will not slide over the jacket completely. I hate it, but that's how it works - instead they are fold over. These are on super HQ paper, and the largest size it comes in is 25 1/4" and I didn't want to sacrifice the paper quality for a slide over cover. I hate slide covers anyway cause it is a pain to get to my records. I will be making them no matter if there are two, or 200. I will take requests from now until next Friday at 5 p.m. EST. No exceptions. Sorry. They will be $16 ppd (or $15 as a gift). I am going to be making about $4 / hr. doing these. Maybe - if I'm lucky. I do this because I love it and thinks it looks super awesome, and if you like it as much as I do, this is a relatively cheap way to get something from me laser cut. They will be machine numbered in the left hand bottom corner on the back, fairly small (not in the above picture). Numbers will be random. Someone will get #1. I will get the last number, whatever it might be. You can buy 1 or 100. I don't care. You can even sell it on eBay. I just want people to enjoy these. But if you buy two, it will be $30 - not like $28 to save postage. $15 per copy. Per person. So - - PM me if you want one. Include your Paypal e-mail and I will send you an invoice. - If you want to save a $1 and send as a gift, let me know that, and we can work something else out. - International peeps, I will give you a new price, but I'm guessing like $30? That stinks, but USPS stinks. Canada I will price out separately too. I will post pictures of it with the real record this weekend or early next week, if you really want to see it. I hope to have them all completed in two-three weeks, but might even be next Friday. I will ship them as I finish them. Any questions, PM me. Thanks. UPDATED FAQ: The tail (spine) seems a little thick? I have to test it with the jacket, but it won't be unnecessarily thick on the final version. I was worried about the two pieces of teal - so for this test I made it a little thicker just to be safe.

    Life Decisions.

I hit that point about two years ago. My band was starting to get pretty serious and it was either go on tour and live the crazy band life for the next ten or so years of my life, or finish college and become a high school English teacher. I am currently 6 weeks away from graduating with a bachelors degree in education and even though it was difficult at the time, quitting my band was the best decision I ever made... It is really weird how when you are growing up you think something is so important and you will do anything to get it...and then one day you wake up and it just doesn't make sense anymore...
