  4. At rsd back in 2009 there was a dude outside of Wuxtry in Athens, GA doing lathe cuts from mp3 rips on 7" wax for $10/ piece. I got him to do 4 copies of my band's 4 song EP (from wav files at least). I even had one of my best friends hand paint covers for them. I kept 2 and snuck one into the 7" bin at Wuxtry and one at School Kids. Both of my copies was stolen when my house got broken into later that year- my records in my room were taken as well as a safe box from my closet with my "sentimental crap" in it. I went back to both stores and checked through hundreds and hundreds of 7"s multiple times (the owner of Wuxtry even helped me) but both copies had sold. My friend that did the covers for me died in a car wreck back in 2010. I haven't stopped looking for it since and never will. I would pay unspeakable amounts of money for this shitty lathe cut 7". THAT is a White Whale.

  11. To be fair, no one is making you do anything. If you have minimum prices in mind why don't you do some sort of starting price so we all don't waste each others time? I felt my offer was fair for the record I wanted, but since you are leaning towards ebay prices that may be the best way to go. Maybe you can make even more than you had hoped for?

    The Bluths are back.

So as hard as it's been, I have avoided this thread until now, having finished. Tried hard to pace myself, watching one every couple days or so. I gave up tonight and watched the final 5. Quick review: Brilliant. Longer review: Brilliant. Of the 15, 13 I would say did not skip a beat. I felt the laughs slowed down in the final few, but it was just as enjoyable. The 2 lacklusters? Both George episodes I think would easily find themselves in the bottom 5 of the now 68 episode series. George is the only character (allowing for George-Michael and Maeby growing up) that seemed to have changed; he seemed to become stupid. I actually didn't enjoy Oscar as much either, who was perhaps my favorite secondary character in the first 3 seasons. Boo on Tambor. My main gripe is that seasons 1-3 were so good because of the characters interactions with eachother, whereas season 4 relies on the characters interactions with guest stars. It takes getting used to, but you get used to it. Oh, and I hated Wiig and Rogen. At least Wiig was trying to be Lucille. Rogen was just Rogen. My hat goes off to Mitch Hurwitz for what has to be one of the most ambitious ideas in the history of television, in having all these stories run together. What an astounding undertaking that he pulled off as well as could possibly be expected. You would read a lot before the release that one of the main reasons he wrote it the way he did was because of the actors schedules, but I don't know. It's not like in seasons 1-3 you would see a lot of scenes with any more than 3 or 4 of the cast. I think it just as easily could have been filmed "traditionally", so again, hats off to Hurwitz. I'm confident there will be more Arrested Development.

  28. Gotta disagree with Eric; In n Out is quite lovely. Are there better burgers? Of course. But chain wise, it doesn't get any better than In n Out. Assuming your parents have no interest in record store hopping, I'd suggest Universal Studios / Universal City Walk. Expensive, but one of a kind experience. Go see a movie in Imax. As far as beaches, Santa Monica is incredible and has a good family vibe. Venice is rad too, but a little more "edgy" shall we say. In San Fran, go see a Giants game and hit up Fisherman's Wharf. Get a clam chowder in a bread bowl. Nom nom nom. Treasure Island is indeed the shit. So too is Alcatraz.

    CONFESSIONS

Won a ton of money drunkenly playing blackjack for my bday with my friends in AC. (Had my Shaq Pogs for luck) Debated not telling my wife and blowing it all on something dumb for myself but figured that would make me an untrustworthy asshole. Her eyes bulged when I showed her the cash so I had some fun in the end anyway.

  36. I got a shipment confirmation for the Rookie of The Year record this morning. I've actually had no problems with Joe. I've gotten every record in great timing (except the ROTY album with it's delay). He's always responded to everything I've asked concerning records. It sucks to see so many people have had a bad experience with him.

  40. The Strokes - Is This It The Antlers - Hospice (Just because I'm afraid to listen to the other albums, Hospice crushed me) Animal Collective - Strawberry Jam The Wrens - The Meadowlands Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes + way more. Most of them are just because the record still hasn't worn out its welcome or I didn't give the others a chance. Not bands per se but Nas - Illmatic Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

  44. Do people actually like portlandia? I've seen maybe 6 episodes and I hate everything about it with a passion. I think some parts were funny, but if it was trying to poke fun of lifestyles and people, I think it is WAY over the top. It's kind of like a "shit ****** says" for 30 minutes and it's all cringe worthy.
