  5. Case solved. It fell off the wall, my daughter stepped on it, so she thought I would be more upset that the frame was broken, than the fact that it was missing? Kids. Also, it is miraculously unharmed.

  11. I have a quick question for the OP out of curiosity. Why are you using this new account and no longer using 'makesoundsnotlove' one? Also, why do you have a different age listed in each account? Not trying to be an ass, just curious. Edit - I see you were quick to change the age on the new account.

  13. AVAILABLE: January 14th, 2013 As one of America’s great modern day vocalists and songwriters, Mark Lanegan has much in common with the timeless work of such legends as Fred Neil, Tim Hardin and Karen Dalton. The former frontman of Screaming Trees, collaborator with Kurt Cobain and Queens Of The Stone Age, half of a modern day Nancy & Lee with Isobel Campbell and, most commonly, solo artist, Lanegan is a man whose career has been defined by an unwillingness to sit still. Light In The Attic are set to shine a spotlight on this great American performer and songwriter with the release of Has God Seen My Shadow? An Anthology 1989-2011. Collecting Lanegan’s solo material for Sub Pop, Beggars and more plus 12 unreleased tracks, this is the archive treatment Mark has long deserved. It is released in two sumptuous formats: a Double-CD edition with a gatefold, tip-on jacket and a 44-page booklet comprising hand-written lyrics and rare archive photos by Charles Peterson and Steve Gullick, and a Triple-LP box set, each LP in single pocket jackets within a heavy, tip-on slip case, with a 20-page book featuring the same attention to detail and extras as the CD release. The 32 tracks shine a light on Mark’s rare talent, and span the singer’s entire career, from 1990’s debut album The Winding Sheet to a treasure trove of recent unreleased gems and feature such guests as PJ Harvey, Josh Homme and J Mascis. His is a sound of grizzled vocals and dark melody, its lyrics chiseled out of late night thoughts and dark humor. Anthology co-produced by Mark Lanegan Double CD housed in a handsome gatefold “tip-on” jacket, including 44-pg book comprising hand-written lyrics & rare archive photos Vinyl box set includes three “tip-on” jackets, housed in a custom “tip-on” slip case, with a 20-pg book comprising hand-written lyrics & rare archive photos Includes 12 unreleased tracks ON-LINE ONLY (limit one per customer): First 150 pre-orders get limited pressing on TRANSLUCENT YELLOW wax! Don’t sleep! LP SUBSCRIBERS ONLY: Limited pressing on TRANSLUCENT RED wax! Available for purchase here - http://lightintheattic.net/releases/922-has-god-seen-my-shadow-an-anthology-1989-2011

  28. Pardon my French. You sound like a cunt. As someone that lives in Australia, I pretty much order most of my records from overseas(except those I buy in stores). If I get a brand new record with a corner ding and a split seam I'm happy. If the record is packed well and it still happens, that is absolutely not the sellers fault, and I will not be a dick about it. If the record is warped to the point it affects playability, regardless of packaging I'll drop an email. And still offer to pay shipping on a replacement. What I won't do is be a bitch to a record label that puts out things I want, that do the best they can to prevent problems and still have them happen. It's not their fault. What's the other option? Not ship overseas? Only have a pick up from the pressing plant policy? Stop being a douche.

  33. A few years ago I had just moved into a new neighborhood and struck up a conversation at a local bar with this dude and his girlfriend. They seemed cool so I invited them over for a bit to chill. At one point dude got up and started pulling records off my shelves acting like he owned the place. I quickly told him he had 2 options: (1) Quit going through my records and simmer down or (2) Walk out the same door he walked in. Gotta respect the vinyl yo.

    Autographed records?

Not huge on autographs myself but I've met Ellie Goulding enough times to have her sign a Lights CD, a Halcyon CD, a screen print, and a Under The Sheets 7". I had James Iha sign a solo 12" LP Most other things I have signed came that way through a preorder or whatever.

    Smashing Pumpkins

Update 1: Took the tape into a studio today to check it out and test it, make sure it hasn't been degaussed at some point over the years, and make sure it's not sticky, as 90's ampex is notoriously bad and often needs treatment. (it's 1/2" tape, which was very much in vogue during the 90's, and a 1/2" tape deck I have not, so a trip to another studio was necessary for the inspection) Miraculously, all is good. The ampex curse is not strong with this one. Everything checks out. When the time comes for cutting the lacquers, this master is ready to go. Next step: the actual licensing. Exciting times indeed.

  37. Since Maniacal Laughter I've been of the opinion The Souls are essentially writing towards a greatest hits collection or two. I felt Comet was their best start to finish album in years however. Now, let's be honest - if they ever did do a 2xLP or CD Greatest Hits collection it would be so damn killer. Their best stuff is truly great and they have a ton of it.

  39. And the first 3 seasons number doesn't reflect that Calvin got better in season 4 and went full on Megatron in seasons 5 and 6. Dez is incredible, but it's yet to be seen if he will take the next step and be the hands down, #1 receiver in the NFL.

  40. mac1's situation is typical of the response one will get from the offending postal service. pack the record well, ship it OUTSIDE the sleeve, use a decent mailer and cross yr fingers. wildflange, i hope it works out for you. you are doing all that is reasonable, more than what's reasonable in this situation. once it finishes, wash yr hands of ebay altogether and stick to like-minded forums, discogs and the like.
