  1. I'd rather be known for faulty ears than being a pretentious douchebag who has to bag on somebody's musical tastes to feel superior

  2. You can't expect Everything Now to always cost the same as Everything Then.

  3. Looking to scoop these up. Preferably the watermelon variant of Grow, but any colored variant would be fine. Hit me up if your selling. Also would consider trading (link in sig).

  4. Rumored to be handled by Vinyl Me Please much sooner than later. Hopefully off of a picture disc, finally.

  5. I have yet to receive a shipping notification, but a lot of these turned out really well, especially the retail variant. Did you guys see that Halsey bought out all the cds for this album at target and was giving them out to random fans?

  6. It's just BEGGING for a pink press, right?

  7. Colemine announced their new reissue imprint today - REMINED RECORDS. Announcements for their first two releases coming Monday. Stoked. Also did anyone pick up the Colemine Soul Slabs Vol. 1 comp for RSD? Holy shit it is righteous!

  9. I just discovered The Japanese House in the last few weeks and since then I ordered everything on their website. She's written some really great songs, I wonder why a full length album isn't out yet?

  10. Giving the family his portion of the licensing agreement does not mean proceeds. Ross will be putting the proceeds into his next cartoon cover song release I'm sure. Does this band own their own songs? If not I'm sure they can't be getting much out of this and the majority of the license fee will go to the label who owns the rights.

  11. This album is gargantuan and I haven't had the time to fully digest it all. I'm loving repeat listens but man I can't always dedicate the time to it. I think it will go down as a classic for me once I can take it all in.

  12. Just a heads up, Black Mark is pressing this (same label that does all that Bathory presses) and from what I've heard it's only coming out on "heavyweight black vinyl". One of my distributors already has it in stock so it should be hitting shops any day now. Swano fans may also be interested to know that Nightingale's Nightfall Overture has also been repressed by the same label.

  14. Thanks! It's pretty awesome. Sits nicely in the range between the bass and other guitars.

  15. as much as i loved this record, i will continue to resist ordering from ETR because of his practices.

  16. You have strange priorities. My pretentious douchebagginess makes me rad as fuck. I don't need to feel superior either. I am superior.

  17. man when I was in high school... the hoops we had to jump through to get a bootleg, barely watchable copy of that Broken video on VHS. you kids have it so easy today with your torrents.

  18. I remember why I don't get on VC much anymore. "Have a different opinion than someone?! Well fuck you then!" If someone thinks an ETR release sounds good and someone else doesn't then all we've concluded is really nothing. All of my Harvard albums sound great.

  19. Then don't buy it, some of us actually enjoy the score and listen to it regularly. However, that's one of my least favorite variants for the score so that's a pass for me, despite the box itself looking pretty nice.

  20. Am I the only one who thinks the funniest thing about this label is his sense of design? Look at that font. LOOK AT THE FONT. Also, "$23.99 Each". Sorry, is this an informercial? Will I get a discount if I order in the next 5 minutes? No, I won't. But I will if I go to Hot Topic in 6 months.

  23. So I'm moving and records are last so I have excess space. That means it's collection photo time so here's a few of my favorite complete discographies that I've hoarded over the years. If I'm missing a record [Pablo Honey] it doesn't count so that ruled out a lot of large artist collections I have that are bigger than these. (I don't have access to my 7"s and 10"s but basically have all of those for each artist too.) The Appleseed Cast Arcade Fire Built to Spill Dreamend Godspeed You! Black Emperor Modest Mouse Prawn Titus Andronicus (lol Local Business really is the red-headed step-child.)

  24. Not rare or obscure but finally scored a decent original of Sly & The Family Stone "There's A Riot Goin' On" for a fiver, what a great album. always overpriced when I see it, so I couldn't say no when I saw it and the price, it's a little crispy but it's a solid VG almost VG+ copy

  25. got a donnie elbert on checker and william bell on stax 45s (and 10 other rock 45s) for .50 each today, good stuff. Donnie Elbert is a falsetto but it's good northern soul worth checking out

  27. If anyone is into this kind of stuff and hasn't yet, please check out some of the comps/reissues that Mississippi Records puts out. They also did some Abner Jay stuff that is terrific.
