THE OFFICIAL EBAY CRAZINESS THREAD
somethingvinyl and one other reacted to dawhizz for a topic
Yep, I made these (although mine are much better, IMO - more like bowls) for all my relative last Christmas. Just found artists they all like in the local dollar bin. Just put 'em in the oven at 250 on top of a turned over bowl, after a bit, throw a slightly larger bowl on top, also upside down, so it melts to a bowl shape, and take it out to cool. Big hit for not a lot of money.2 points -

I'm starting to worry about my vinyl obsession. Seems that almost everyone who collects vinyl runs in to like 12 troubles at once including vet bills, foreclosure, bankruptcy, death, hospitalization, phantom limb syndrome, astronomical rent issues, cardboard shortages, car/bike breakdowns/accidents. It's hard out there for a VCer.2 points -

That explains the insane wait for the records to be shipped. Standard SRC procedure. His collection is probably on a 3-5 day (8 week) backorder.2 points -

this is fucking awful, and even though nobody here any ties to the people involved in this, i still find it tasteless to joke about it....seeing as a 6 year old kid is traumatized for the rest of their life after watching both of their parents die in a very gruesome, fucked up way. but to each their own i guess. RIP to those people, and i feel awfully sorry for the rest of that kids life. really sad and shows just how vulnerable life is. and how powerful stupidity and shock are.2 points

randomfortunepa reacted to Ohhaimark for a topic
Hey everyone, new to the community, hope to be an active member here! I'm leaving my home in Canada to study in the United Kingdom next year so I've decided to sell some of my records. PM me if you're interested, we can flesh out a price. I'm okay with hanging onto these if I don't get any fair offers, but I am flexible to a point. Here are the records I've got: A Silver Mt. Zion- He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace the Corners of Our Rooms Circa Survive-Juturna (The Green and White Swirl LP) Circa Survive-Blue Sky Noise Refused- The Shape of Punk to Come (2010) The Receiving End of Sirens- The Earth Sings Mi Fa Mi I'm willing to ship pretty much anywhere, we can discuss shipping terms if we come to any agreements in the PMs. Thanks!1 point -

I was an MP for 5-6 years then a civilian for one. and there are many differences, but mostly just protocol and coding and what not, obviously, but most of the rest stays the same. lebowski has pretty much nailed it from the beginning. i watched about 3 mins of the video and stopped it. rolling down your window? technically you dont have too. chances are if you do as minimum as possible, it will just piss him off, and it may show that you have something to hide....thus setting a chain of events for them to warrant up excuses and bypass things in order to make your night a living hell. courtesy window amount is just enough to hear him and pass information through...but all the way down will make him a happy camper. if it was less than 2", thats where id draw my personal line. this kid was doing this on purpose. by being defensive it gives the officer every right to assume something 'not right' was going on, or happened, thus giving the officer the right to search the car based upon his suspicions. if you pull someone over, and you smell weed, you can search it. no questions asked. honestly, it all depends on the cop and the person. if they work together, things go smoothly...but from experience, when a kid does this, they are guilty of something....whether it be suspended license or some kind of warrant. this cop looks seasoned and he looks like he's played this game many times. so basically, once again, each stop basically just depends on whether or not your cop is either a dick or has had a bad day....but on his suspicions alone, he is entitled to search a car based on that. he has to have some kind of basis or suspect you of something to search. by law in many states, cops are authorized to arrest drivers for minor traffic offenses...speeding, no seat belt etc...and if he chooses to arrest you, that also gives him the right to conduct a search. cops will sometimes try to provoke you, get your irritated or somehow commit a crime when nothing has really happened. i hope some of this had made some sense...and sorry if its jumbled, but i have that new baby, new position at work and no sleep.1 point -

2.5 years ago, when my girlfriend went into labor with my son, the very last thing I did before going to the hospital was to stop by the post office and mail shit I had sold and/or traded. I knew I wouldn't have time for a while after that kid was born. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR NOT OWNING UP TO YOUR END OF A BARGAIN! Communication is key. I thought I would bump this thread because it is a great thread for general Soundtrack PO's and releases. I have found one to add: World War Z OST: Marco Beltrami http://www.amazon.com/World-War-Music-Motion-Picture/dp/B00CZAYN5G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1373236445&sr=8-1&keywords=World+War+Z+soundtrack+vinyl I just bought The Book of Eli by Atticus Ross and I must say it sounds great. Might not have been the best movie but it is a great soundtrack! I also purchase the James Bond: Skyfall OST Thomas Newman and it sounds pretty good. But the funny thing about this release is that it comes with a 12 Page LP size photo book. Pretty cool.1 point

NFL Discussion
turbobrando reacted to thebiglebowski for a topic
Well obviously there has to be some accounting for the fact that Marino is finished and Brady isn't. Give Brady 4 more years of reasonable production (so he plays 17 seasons like Marino) and his numbers are right there with him. Brady's completion percentage is higher, his TDs per game are higher, his picks per game are lower, qb rating is almost 10 higher, and his yards per game are off by a hair. Then there are the rings. There's no dude that has it all (yet). Marino has the big stats, Montana has the championships, Manning falls into the discussion somewhere. There might be another guy or two you could make a case for that isn't coming to mind at the moment. But the fact that I can even make the case above (whether you agree with it or not) proves that he is in the discussion. It's not like there is one QB in football that has everything (elite stats and championships) in the way someone like MJ or Gretsky does.1 point -
