  1. For being a macho misogynstic asshole, you have the music taste of a 14 year old girl. Blink 182 and Brand New? Come on. It has baffled me for a while.

  3. Just got mine with the audio technica cartridge and it's amazing. Super easy to set up, looks super sleek, functions great. Love everything about it and don't regret anything about the purchase. Highly recommended.

  8. Today is a happy day indeed! My ex and I met at college and stayed together for around six years. I was faithful but I never really wanted the relationship to spiral out forever. Cue a couple years after college: she tells be she'll leave if we don't move in together. I oblige and sell my motorcycle. A few months later, she threatened to leave if I wouldn't propose to her. I bought a beautiful ring from the 1930s and -- after a few months -- she admitted she hated the ring and was embarrassed by the main diamond's size (maybe 0.4k)... but she was oblivious to the fact that I paid for all the furniture and initial move-in costs. About a month ago she wouldn't kiss me, hug me, etc. she returned the ring back to me. I started sleeping downstairs on the couch. Last night she finally decided to move out, albeit she is blaming all the problems squarely on me. Regardless, I'm so elated that I wanted to tell you buddies. This was an awful, abusive relationship, and I'm glad we killed it while we're both young. Now I'm stuck with the full rent and a few small bills, but my lease is up in September. So homies, if you're in a mentally abusive relationship, or you've hit a dead end, get out! I wish I had the balls to speak up sooner.

    Bootlegs

Can't find a thread, let me know if there is one already etc What's the opinion on boots around here? I'm just curious after seeing the System of a Down bootleg thread. Where's the use in buying a bootleg release - it's not going to sound any better than the CD copy, is it? Or am I missing something? Seeing the SOAD album go for $85 seems pretty ridiculous to me. It's about £27.00 on Discogs which is still way too much IMO. What's the appeal of these?

  11. After 28 years of life, I've come up with this quip to state when necessary. Unless someone else already said it that is more famous. But I have never heard it, and it is often my "I think I'm breaking up with my blah blah blah" or "Things aren't looking good with my blah blah blah." : Every girl is crazy. It's all about finding the kind of crazy you can put up with for the rest of your life. My wife is bat-shit crazy (she knows that I know this). However, her random crying gets cancelled out by the fact that she takes on the dishes and laundry, and if she REALLY wants that vintage lamp at the Antique Barn, then I really don't feel obligated to buy it for her, but I will anyway because she doesn't ask for much (except for milk... she BURNS through a gallon in a day and a half I swear). Plus she puts up with a ton of records and books always showing up in the mail. I was in a relationship for three years like the one you have described. She added nothing to the relationship and was the first to complain. Oh, and she didn't work, didn't have a license, didn't graduate high school, and was basically worthless (except for smoking the weed I bought and drinking the liquor I bought). Be glad you got out when you did. Find a kind of crazy that works with what you have going on.

  15. Saw them last night in Salt Lake City. In terms of vinyl, they had "Happiness Is" and the 10 year anniversary of TAYF acoustic album. $20 each. Didn't inquire about color, but there wasn't anything noted at the table that they were a special tour pressing. Lots of shirts and sweatshirts.

  20. I'm curious what you find feminine or immature about enjoying both those bands. Especially brand new. Sure, blink was young and silly on many early releases but they developed and released well crafted albums. And brand news Devil and God and Vices in no way show any signs of youthful femininity. So I'm just confused as to why you'd insinuate their fanbases are predominantly young teen females. The only reason I can think of is that these are bands one usually finds early in their music discovering endeavours. Still, though, that in no way diminishes the respect their adult fanbases have for the music they create.

  21. These are neat, thinking about getting some made for the girlfriend. I'll probably be shooting you a message in the near future Out of curiosity, how much does a button maker go for? Zero experience with this stuff, I think the only one I've ever seen was in Empire Records, which is kinda old by now. Seems like it'd be fun to see what you could make

  26. Good luck man. Ryan - the most miserable job I had was working for UF doing tech work and security at the arena and stadium. I had enough of the abuse and being handed truly dangerous jobs with no training. So one day I went in and filled out the forms to report sexual harrassment against the two Frat Boy supervisors who were always making shit miserable. Once the interview on the matter and the paperwork was in I quit. No looking back I felt I left it a better place and was stoked to move on. It's criminal what UF pays those kids for the kind of work they demand.

It's in the Oasis centre that sells all that shitty scene-kid gear, near CEX. If you love punk/hardcore records, Ignite is incredible. There's a couple other good'uns in the custard factory too.

    solid mail day

The Vandals had a St. Patrick's Day sale on their "Peace Thru Vandalism" pic disc for $5, so I figured I might as well get it. I also bought a new copy of Streetlight Manifesto's "Somewhere In The Between" to replace the copy I f'ed up a few weeks ago. This one came on colored vinyl, so that's neat.
