  1. Thought you were looking for something to break records. Was gonna suggest a hammer.

  2. Once again, just because somebody doesn't like that noodly stuff, doesn't mean they don't get it or don't appreciate the musicianship that goes into it. It just means they don't like it. I think Trey is an incredible musician, maybe one of the best of our time. Cannot stand a single song the man has ever written. But I have awful taste in your cool guy opinion, so it doesn't matter what I think. And about Ryan being into that stuff back then, I actually didn't mind the jammy stuff in 2005, even though it's definitely not my thing. I thought it was pretty good at the shows and Ryan ripped some awesome guitar work for those Cold Roses and JCN songs. I found it interesting to watch. Neal, not so much. The songwriting was nowhere up to the level it was in 2005 after he joined the band. And I know that's mostly on Ryan (which he obviously realized when he fired the Cardinals) but once again, if you go back to what was said at the time, Ryan used to talk endlessly about Neal's influence on his songwriting. And if you compare the Cardinology era stuff with some of the crap on Neal's records and what Ryan used to let him play at the shows, it's quite obvious that was the case. Sorry you can't deal with somebody's opinion that Neal's boring as fuck, but it would be cool if you could grow up with your responses.

  3. For a bunch of vinyl enthusiasts, this thread is really highlighting how little some folks know about how records are brought into existence.

  5. http://store.angusandjuliastone.com/store/angus-julia-stone-angus-julia-stone-2lp-music-album-vinyl-4736425 Super pricey at $55 for a 2LP but shipping in Australia cost me $3 for 2 copies of this, which kind of makes it a bit easier to swallow. Not sure how much shipping is going to cost for those outside Australia though... Anyway im looking forward to this release so thought id share the PO around. As some would know their last LP is worth rediculous amounts, I didnt want to risk this selling out and missing out! For anyone who hasnt heard them before id urge you to! Theyre incredible!

  8. People can be assholes. The other day some dude smacked my head with the wheel of his luggage and didn't even apologize. But the truth of it is I have this sick enjoyment from making pissed off people smile. We are a special breed. I used to say I wanted to work at the DMV... This is similar. But there is something so special about it. I have a crazily multi faceted role, and it keeps me entertained and on my toes. The best part is when you make the day of an asshole they usually end up being pretty cool. Sometimes people just hate traveling and need someone to listen to how shitty security was.

  12. I find I enjoy their discography as a whole, but for different reasons. I suppose it also helps when you grow up with a band who's sound "grows up" as well. I still jam Illusion of Safety just as much as Beggars or Major/Minor and enjoy them just the same, just for different reasons. At this point its also really cool to listen to their progression. I do the same with Cave In too.

  16. Hey Ben - you're as helpful as ever! My prices are based on popsike history as well as discogs listings and prior sales. As I mentioned, IN BOLD RED LETTERS, which you may have missed, these aren't set prices. They are opening numbers. I am open to discussion and negotiation. I know what it's like to be hunting for these variants and to be trying to avoid ebay as much as possible and deal directly with someone who is willing to talk price. I'm trying to give other people that same opportunity. I've already sold a few things. I never said I was trying to sell them "fast"... I want them to go to good people. If you're just going to come in here again to tell me to "go to ebay" don't bother

  18. I'm not sure why you're bringing this back up, but if you are still completely ignorant to what the point of it all was, let me try to explain. It is not cool to invade someone's space. If someone's fine with it, then good for them, but if you're not, there's no reason you have to be forced into that situation. Culture values aside, it's still uncool that people can feel entitled to assume that it's alright to kiss someone else without their consent. If a strange man came up to you and decided to kiss you, I'm sure you wouldn't be okay with it. Unfortunately, it's mostly women who have to deal with that kind of stuff. Also:

  19. fairly soon i'd say demand > supply ITC is certainly up there as one of my favorite labels. solid music, innovative hand-made releases without being gimmicky--the passion for what you're doing really comes through. i love that people here see that too. can't wait to see what's next.

  25. Are these real pressings that are upcoming??!?! I hadn't heard anything about them... http://obscurealternatives.net/ discogs seems to think the Vheissu is real with someone even claiming to have one... http://www.discogs.com/Thrice-Vheissu/release/5839851 So, this is legit. Here's the link to the three separate versions: Clear (300), Translucent Yellow (300) and White (1000) http://www.pylonrecords.com/

  33. Bob emailed back and said to let them know when I order and they could hold all the singles until they are ready to ship and refund the difference in shipping. He's also looking in to the shipping calculator. He thought it was set up to be a little cheaper to ship the whole set. Lastly, he said they will offer all 5 singles together at the end, but only if they have leftover stock.

  35. Wat. The movie was genius! I totally loved it. You guys need to see more movies if you can't get into something that has an unusual plot arc. There WAS plot, but the characters were static, The focus was on a slow build of tension, then a quick release at the end (I actually laughed out loud). The sound editing was brilliant, and the cinematography was on point.

  38. I used to have a wall of them too - this was many years ago. Have a bunch more now. The Kings of Convenience one is probably my greatest get though... met them outside the Iota in Arlington, VA way back in the day. Oh, and Ryan Adams' Heartbreaker, signed by Ryan after he was holding the door for us as we left a restaurant. Yes, I was that guy. But the fact that I had it on me at all is still pretty awesome...

  41. I actually came to the site just now because I thought "Hmm... I bet people are curious as to how it sounds" I'm very pleased with the pressing/remaster. The pressing itself is VERY quiet across both LPs and the bonus disks. I honestly wasn't expecting much from the remaster as I've always thought the album sounded great in the first place, but it really sounds nice. Things like the intro to Wearing The Inside Out seem to have a lot more depth to them than I remember. Another point of interest is when the layers really start to form in the intro of Keep Talking. That song has always sounded much better to me on the the vinyl version of Pulse, but the studio version has the same depth now on this version. I listened to it all the way through around 3 times last night and never noticed any flaws or anything to complain about. As for the bonus vinyl, I remembered that the 7" would have Astronomy Domine on the B-Side, but I'd totally forgotten about the live version of One Of These Days on the High Hopes 12" single. I used to have that CD single years back and I liked that version of the song better than the one that's on Pulse so it was a cool bonus of sorts. The etching/art thingy on the flip side of the High Hopes 12" is really cool looking too. I think I covered everything, but if anyone has more questions or wants better pics of anything in the box, just let me know!
