  3. Hey, I hope that it's ok to post this here. We are the label that are responsible for SNDTRK. Every distributor who has carried SNDTRK has sold it out in a day. we still have copies available through our Bandcamp page. If you don't know what SNDTRK is..it is a compilation of film composers making casual tracks. Think Stranger Things, Carpenter, Death Waltz, Mondo etc and you will get the idea. As usual with Bandcamp, you can stream it without purchasing.http://discocinematic.bandcamp.com/album/sndtrk If you take a liking to any/all of the artists featured just ask me and I'll fill you in. http://discocinematic.bandcamp.com/album/sndtrk Cheers.

  8. I trust your tastes a good bit. As a fairly big fan of Ghosts and The Fragile, would you say this is potentially right up my alley? Thinking about taking it for a proper spin before deciding on a purchase, but doing so requires a good bit of time and bandwidth that I'd like to ensure is worth the effort.

  9. Think I'm finally gonna get the chance to try out the ice cream maker my sister got me for Christmas. Got a mixture sitting in the refrigerator for later tonight...I used coffee milk rather than chocolate milk, so it should have a bit of a mocha flavor once I churn it up & freeze it. Now, just gotta wait for the girlfriend to make it home.

  12. I picked up a real nice DAC / tube headphone amp for my work computer right before what.cd went down. One of the best purchases I've made considering I spend 32-40 hours a week sitting at that desk. Been grabbing almost all FLAC since

  13. *snort* Seriously though, I don't think anyone ever though that it would somehow be better/more enjoyable than the regular Fragile? I mean, the title literally indicates that it is a derivative.

  15. 99% sure it's not limited – since it was never 100% spelled out otherwise – but I can't fault anyone for not wanting to risk that 1% over a record that sells for $300.

  17. Just roll out enough paper to fit the longer side, as it won't work from the other. If the dimensions are too big, I just tape a big section of paper on the ends and then wrap normally, so it at least is covered completely.

Yo, this album is fantastic, and my pressing sounds really damn good. I highly recommend picking this up, and it's cheaper to buy directly from them than it was to snag a copy from Mondo!

    CATS RULE, DOGS DROOL!

Well since I've posted those last pictures, we've let Daisy out throughout the rest of the apartment and her and Harley quickly became best friends. They play fight and wrestle all the time and they're just the absolute best. First picture I was able to take of them together: Here they are cuddling on my wife's lap: Napping head to head: AND HERE THEY ARE SPOONING!!! If this isn't one of the cutest pictures you've ever seen, then you're crazy:

  27. Man, what a great year for music. So many great albums spanning so many genres. This year was an especially tough one to narrow down from 100 to 50 to 25 to 15. There were so many albums that were on that edge of 8.5 that just barely didn't hit 9 for me. So only listing 15 doesn't do the year justice, but these are my absolute favorites of the year. These aren't really necessarily in order either. So hard to choose if one was higher than another. I could rate them somewhat easily, but then sorting out the same grade was tough. // Albums 1. | Shawn James - On The Shoulders of Giants | blues / folk / gospel | (10/10) *** 2. |American Football - American Football 2 | emo / math rock / indie | (9.5/10) 3. | Aesop Rock - Impossible Kid | hip hop | (9.5/10) 4. | Every Time I Die - Low Teens | hardcore punk / metalcore | (9.5/10) 5. | NAILS - You Will Never Be One Of Us | grindcore | (9/10) 6. | July Talk - Touch | indie rock / blues rock | (9/10) 7. | Anderson .Paak - Mailbu | r&b / hip hop / neo soul | (9/10) 8. | Oathbreaker - Rheia | black metal / alternative | (9/10) 9. | Childish Gambino - Awaken My Love | r&b / neo soul / psych funk | (9/10) 10. | Nothing - Tired of Tomorrow | alt. punk / dream pop | (9/10) 11. | Kings of Leon - WALLS | alt. / indie | (9/10) 12. | Weezer - White Album | alt. rock / power pop | (9/10) 13. | Russian Circles - Guidance | post rock / post metal | (9/10) 14. | Lost in Kiev - Nuit Noir | post rock (9/10) 15. | Badbadnotgood - IV | electronic jazz / jazz | (9/10) // EP Caspian - Castle High, Marble Bright | post rock | (10/10) // Live Julien Baker - Spotify Sessions | indie folk / ambient | (10/10) *** - I highly suggest you check out Shawn James if you haven't heard him before. This album won me over more than anything this year by far. It's is dark, haunting, and full of emotion. I can't get enough of it. Do yourself a favor to get over how shitty 2016 was by putting on this album, and sitting in the dark while sipping some whiskey.

Is the marble directly on top of the wood? If so, try to get a carpet sample or something similar to put in between the wood and the marble. It allows the heavy slab to "float" a bit, further reducing vibrations.

  42. I finally made an account... Your topic is recent, so I thought I'd respond. First of all, congratulations. That's a nice find. I've been looking for that CD for a long time, but I'm not about to pay $100. Unfortunately, there isn't much to say about the band. Sick Shift formed in Santa Barbara in 1996. As far as I know, they released that one album recorded a demo in 2001/2002. It was never officially released, but the mp3s are floating around the web (I have them). It's in the same style as the album. I'm not exactly sure when the band broke up, but I'm guessing around 2003-ish. I think they did some touring, but probably nothing extensive. They are on the soundtrack of the Razor Freestyle Scooter game. If you don't know the game, it's a Tony Hawk Pro Skater ripoff that came out in 2000. They were on a few comps and I think some surf/skate/snow videos, too. My friend is in a skate-punk band from San Diego and he's good friends with the Sick Shift singer. I actually saw the singer, Gary, fill-in on bass for my friend's band earlier this year. He's not playing with them anymore and I don't know if any of the band members are doing anything musical these days. I know they had t-shirts. My friend has one that's bright yellow and it has the logo center on the chest, but I believe the band is completely out of merch/CDs. I asked my friend to get me a CD, but no go. I only got a sticker. That's all I know, but I hope it helped.

  43. Hey there, vinyl_yuck. Can you explain to me how "most people" wouldn't be able to do a kallax? Like, Ikea shit is some of the easiest shit to build. And what is the fuck is "go you to a store" and where are you buying records that 2 is costing $80? Boy, you are weird.

  45. I finished the cabinet I was working on. Cost under $200 and should hold about 700 albums or so. I'm just really proud of the top. Too bad you can't see too much of it. Next step is getting a separate amp for the record set up. Feels good to design and build it myself instead of going to IKEA or paying an arm and a leg for a piece of furniture. It's a nice median between the two.
