  8. Looks like Subpop is finally releasing the Mark Lanegan Boxset. 6 Lps total and the first time the Field Songs has been available on vinyl. No word or official announcement from Subpop yet, so maybe this will be released individually. Bullmoose has it for $84.97 here: http://www.bullmoose.com/p/21207872/mark-lanegan-one-way-street-6lp-set-180-gram-vinyl-with-download One Way Street set compiles the first five solo albums recorded by Mark Lanegan, the Pacific-Northwest icon also known for his work with Screaming Trees, Gutter Twins, Mad Season, Queens of the Stone Age, Isobel Campbell, and more. The Winding Sheet, Mark Lanegan's first solo work, is notable in its departure from the characteristic sound of Screaming Trees, the band he fronted from 1985 until 2000. Its follow-up, Whiskey for The Holy Ghost, released during the grunge explosion of the early 1990s, showcases Lanegan's growing maturity as a songwriter and vocalist. Scraps at Midnight could be considered the final installment of a trilogy of albums featuring Lanegan’s interpretation of American roots music accompanied by his troubling lyrics of loss, sin, and redemption. I'll Take Care of You, Lanegan’s fourth solo effort, consists entirely of cover songs with interpretation of songs from a wide variety of songwriters, including Tim Rose, Tim Hardin, Booker T. Jones, and Buck Owens. On Lanegan’s fifth and final solo album for Sub Pop, Field Songs, Lanegan seems to have taken the best elements from his previous work to create one of the most fulfilled, and fulfilling, albums of his career; Field Songs also includes “Kimiko’s Dream House,” which Mark co-wrote with Jeffrey Lee Pierce of The Gun Club. Three of these five albums have been out of print on vinyl for many years; I’ll Take Care of You was only released on vinyl in Europe, and Field Songs was only issued on CD. Each album in the One Way Street box set was pressed on 180-gram vinyl, and is housed in a sleeve reproducing the art for its original release Add ToWishlist

    The Walking Dead

What's getting tiresome is the naïveté of some the characters. Especially those who are more "seasoned". The whole Carol/Morgan argument shouldn't have happened. Morgan's incessant clinging to the idea of people being able to change is going to eventually get him killed.

  24. Right on, I guess I missed the e-mail or thought it was an e-mail regarding the new Clutch record and trashed it without reading. I did the $65 version, was tempted to bump up to the next level, but am stoked to see what this package looks like. I agree, the album is a fucking monster. So overlooked. Everyone's all up and humping leg on Deafheaven, but this album crushed anything Deafheaven has ever done and will ever do, IMO. One of the best black metal albums I've heard since the 90's.

  25. I got an email update saying that it's been delayed multiple times and fuck off, you'll get it when they get it. This really sucks, cuz it gives me time to consider going up a package. This record slays.

  26. I did happen upon an excellent copy of my favorite Van Morrison record today at the thrift store for $8 in a solid VG++, so that's always a plus. And got 3 new coffee mugs, nice sized ones too, for fifty cents each... The little things eh, gotta find my happy place in the little things...

Saw the Hunger Games and went to an excellent steakhouse my dad had given us a gift card for. Going to the Clippers game today. This is pretty cool, but I already kinda miss that little person climbing on me and running all over.

  31. Gotta agree. Bands need to suck it up and accept that Flood/Silly Ross/Struedel/Catnip and all the new repress label owners are going to release their music on vinyl with or without their blessing. You think Adam Levine or Doig Finny were OK with their music being released without their involvement? No. But none of us complained because Silly Ross happens to be our friend here. That's why we have to stop, take some time to think, and figure out what's important to us before we automatically take the MMB's side. It's called capitalism and Flood and co. are just running a business.

  40. Real talk: I took a moment from late-night browsing to turn in my swivel chair, recline my feet on a box of records, and check a few things on my phone. Instagram, app updates, some photo organizing. Just a few minutes in total – nothing major. But in the process of adjusting my legs, I guess the crease in my jeans put a sleeper-hold on my dick. When I turned to check VC (and this thread), all I could feel was the most intense kind of tingling. Like someone trying to shove crushed ice down my urethra with a pair of chilled tweezers. It's since subsided, but, holy shit. I had to tell someone. Jean creases near the crotch – that's some serious business, and I had no idea idea up until tonight.

  43. I actually think this record is a masterpiece. And I "appreciated" Sunbather more than liked it. But after listening to this, I actually love Sunbather now. This record has so much less filler though, and I think the riffs and drumming are just amazing. Just my 2 cents..
