Hello all! Here's our annual RSD thread! RSD is here a week early for some odd reason but the other details are the same as always. Both shops are open 8am to 8pm and we'll have hundreds of RSD exclusive releases on hand as always and a few really cool things to give away. First; we've got a test pressing for the Green Day "Woodstock 1994" LP to raffle off. All you have to do to enter is buy a copy of the regular Woodstock LP from us and we'll pick a winner Monday the 15th! It is currently not autographed by anyone but we're hoping to get that changed before RSD. Secondly; we've got a Mastodon test press for their RSD release! Same rules apply as the Green Day give away and a winner will be contacted Monday the 15th THIRDLY!; The first 100 people in line in at either location will be signed up for a raffle to win a $100 gift certificate. Winners will be contacted Monday the 15th. FOURTHLY!!!; This isn't a giveaway but our next door neighbor Tacos Oscar will be open early for brunch/lunch so bring your appetites. We are now running this out of a squarespace store instead of our janky old webstore so you can use credit cards or paypal if you like. We tested this out on Black Friday and it worked like a dream. Processing time on the orders was greatly reduced as well so we're faster than ever! Rules of the mail order road, please and thank you. 1. Please try to condense everything you want in to one order. We can try to combine orders if you place two but we may also miss it because we're processing hundreds of orders in a very short amount of time. 2. PLEEEEEEEASE don't place an order, freak out that you might not get something, order from some place else and then cancel with us. That's such a bummer. The inventory in our store should be accurate. If it's still up in the store, we still have stock. If we experience an oversell on something we will be in touch ASAP but that didn't happen more than a handful of times last year out of hundreds of orders. 3. If you have questions about an order, Please email [email protected] We won't be doing customer service stuff in this thread or even checking it that often as we'll be working like crazy to get your orders out in a timely manner. Finally, Know we love you and are working very hard to get your orders out as quickly as possible. Also know that it's two people working on this and we aren't Amazon so while it will go quickly it won't be same day shipping. Last year I think we got everything out withing 5 or 6 days total. You will recieve an email from us when your order ships with your tracking info in it the second it ships. Squarespace and our shipping software are really great about this. Overall we've got a pretty great reputation around these parts for the most part I think so don't be scurred. We're going to take care of you and it's going to be great. Thanks everyone! In California at least, they tack on sales tax in addition to “meh” shipping rates, on top of already-bloated price tags. What that equates to is $30-$37+ for a single LP, and even more for a double LP. I could see people justifying those costs if the record was OOP or tough to come by, but a lot of folks will prefer to pay $21 PPD for a new, black copy that’s readily available on Amazon or Discogs than $48 PPD for a Newbury variant /500. A lot of their variants turn out really nice, but when they average $35-$50 per release, it’s not terribly surprising that they stick around for so long.

I paid full price for this and the regrets are killing me.

Not only that, but when Newbury started doing the retailer exclusive variants (around 2012/2013) they and Urban Outfitters were pretty much the only game in town. Now releases have Amoeba exclusives, FYE exclusives, European Dinked exclusives, Target exclusives, Bed Bath & Beyond exclusives, Jimmy's World of Tires: We Don't Just Match 'Em We Beat 'Em exclusives, Those Two Neighborhood Kids on the Corner Selling Lemonade and Colored Vinyl exclusives, etc, etc, etc...

The bandana alone is worth at least a buck.

Yeah sounds like the 225's might work best for your set up and keeps the wife happy with the look... Can't go wrong!

Here's my 2¢ as I have the 10.2's and like them a lot. I looked at the newer 225's before I bought the 10.2's and I'm pretty sure the advertised specs were almost identical...The biggest difference is that the 225's were better for smaller spaces since the bass port is integrated into the bottom of the speaker... while the 10.2's have two ports in the back of the speaker which means they need to be further away from the wall to sound their best. I have them on speaker stands and they are maybe 2 feet away from the wall. I bought them from music direct as demo units, so I couldn't justify paying the extra money for the newer 225's, especially since I had the room for the 10.2's. If I didn't have space to pull them away from the wall or if they were on shelves instead of stands I probably would have paid the extra money for the 225's.

That’s a fair deal. In all seriousness I do not listen to a lot of Deja these days, but Sci-Fi is still killer in my books and has held up pretty well since release. Not sure (and can’t be bothered to care) if that makes me a bad person to admit, but I quite like that record and wish I could’ve caught them touring it before they went off the grid for good.

I don't think you really need advice. I think you need a buyer. This is the wrong place to find a buyer for those records. You're either going to have to ship them (it's easy, look it up) or dump them off at a record store. Possibly look on craigslist for a buyer. Good luck.

i heard from a very reliable source (don't ask because i can't say) that the records were messed up before being sent, and when they realized that, they decided to send them the way they did so they could blame the issues on that. pretty fucked up.

You’re probably out of luck, friend. He’s highly selective on who he lets in. I’ve bought all of his releases (besides this one) and he still hasn’t let me in his Facebook group haha.

Got mine for Atlanta with my Citi card... ended up being $101 for two $36 tickets after fees
