  2. I hope Suede fans don't mind, but I wanted to share this and did not want to start a new thread. One of my favorite Suede-like Britpop bands, Geneva, is reissuing remastered / expanded versions of their two big albums. According to the band's Bandcamp site the LP's include 2 discs, bonus songs and a bonus 7". Both LP's are realllly cheap for pre-order from Target.com right now, and are also part of the Buy-2-Get-1-Free sale. Can't beat the price, and I love the band and the music. Suede fans who have not heard Geneva should listen asap, IMO.

  3. Calm your tits Satan. Jesus. I don't have 10, even 5 vinyl savvy friends I discuss any of this with. Most peoples eyes glaze over and I can tell they don't care. He went to a place where people would definitely care. And I'm pretty sure he's gonna do it even if you don't think it'll be useful.

  6. Hey Vinyl Collective - I'm new to this forum, but have been collecting records for about 6 years now. If this post is in the wrong thread, please let me know! Long story short, I'm taking a UX Design bootcamp and my capstone project is to design an app that serves record collectors like us. I'm currently researching the industry and the behaviors of record collectors, so I would greatly appreciate a few minutes of your time to answer some questions. Here's a link to the survey. As a note, I'm also looking for about 5 people to interview for 30-minutes each in order to gain deeper insight into the world of record collecting. Interviewees will be paid $10 for their time. If you're interested, please provide an email address in the final question of the survey. Also, if you have any ideas or suggestions about app features that would improve your vinyl experience (from discovery, to purchasing, to organizing, to listening), please feel free to share!

  7. ^ I have this weird collector/hoarder thing where I think stuff that's valuable now will be even more valuable later. I recently sold Elvis Sun 209 for about $660, which is insane. But you know what? It's an important record. I kind of want it just to have it now. I always want what I can't have.

  8. If someone wants incredibly boring post-metal to listen to, here’s the new Watered EP. http://watered.bandcamp.com/album/antipodes-ep

  10. I assume that you're a fan of the Germs. Darby was known to extol the virtues of fascism. The armbands were clearly Nazi inspired. The original cover of the "Lexicon Devil" literally had Hitler on it. It seems a bit over the line that you draw at fascists, yet you're into it enough to name yourself after them. It's ironic.

  19. Setting aside that their quality isn't all that great, it's dumb to me that T&N continues to circle back to these titles that already exist on vinyl instead of one of their many other albums that have never been pressed. Press I Am Hollywood you cowards

  20. Never knew they sampled that. As cool as it sounds, I would be hard pressed not to sell it at those prices. I have some rare, old punk 45's that I'm probably going to list because they are worth too much. When I think about how I could buy a new guitar if I sold one of them, it's hard to resist.

  22. This isn't some kind of revelatory news because I'm sure it's widely known by DJ's, but I just found out what song Wu-Tang sampled for "CREAM." I had never known before. It sucks that everyone wants it because it's a jam. And, of course, that fucking hook! https://www.discogs.com/The-Charmels-As-Long-As-Ive-Got-You-Baby-Come-And-Get-It/release/4693483

  23. Submitted. As a UX designer myself I know it can be hard to get candid feedback form the appropriate demographic - happy to help and good luck.

  24. But that can happen at any point in their discography, no? Looking around and there’s no indicator that a swan song has to be particularly good. Everything I thought I knew was a lie – a mediocre or even bad swan song is entirely possible. Guess I lose the internet for the day. Donating my copy as punishment for my transgressions.

  28. I haven’t seen them live since they toured the U.S. with deafheaven in 2012. It was a nice show, winterhalter kept a lit cigarette in his mouth like half the set and then Neige told the crowd it was winterhalter’s (27th I think?) birthday so the crowd sang him happy birthday and everyone there was super into it. i would love to see them also in a tiny club show like that again. edit: seeing these reactions from members about shipping delays I think I’ll just pick up a copy from my local store.

  29. Hey, all of you atheist, liberal, incels/cucks (neckbeards too, likely).... I got the Whirr album instead. Better investment, you fucking heathens! (Production-wise, the beats slap, but because of lyrical content this is already on the path to being heavily panned...even more than Ye)
