  1. I prefer the “grabbed a copy”, “it shipped”, and “got my copy” posts because I can update my spreadsheet of people who preordered, grabbed a copy, are awaiting shipment, and had it delivered.

  2. Damn dude, y’all could like, not listen to them anymore if you want. Like that’s a choice you can literally make. It’s free, even. You don’t even have to type out words about it here you could just like exit the thread

  3. Sandbag employee 1: OK, we've shipped out EVERYTHING, refunded evey order we messed up, and replaced the back ordered swirls with red copies. What's our profit? Sandbag employee 2: ...We've lost $8000. Sandbag employee 1:

  6. How did that work out for SST? Oh, that's right, most of their biggest bands jumped ship and sued to get their master recordings and unpaid royalties. While yes, you're right that labels use money earned from bigger bands/past albums to sign new bands and release new albums, they do still have to have money to pay those bigger bands. If TE couldn't pay Adult Mom $8k in royalties for three years there's either some serious financial mismanagement going on or they vastly overestimated their ability to handle and support the number of bands they signed. That TE allegedly called Adult Mom ungrateful and blamed them for potentially hurting smaller bands on the label when they spoke up makes it clear that they have more problems than just managing money.

  8. I still like the band, just giving you my take on the entire quarantine industry that you didn't ask for... More lively of a conversation than "Thanks Grabbed a copy!" and then 5 months later "Got my copy!"

  10. Look, I get it. At earlier points in my life, especially when I was a broke teen, paying for entertainment was annoying and, at the time in my opinion, not fair. Yet as I’ve grown up, and even more so as a musician myself, although in no way professional or for monetary gain, I now appreciate that this is their livelihood. This is their job. Would I be angry if my employer walked in and said: “Hey that analysis report that you’ve been working on for the last few months, staying up late to finish, yea we’re not gonna pay you for that time. Because, well jus because we don’t think you should be charging us.” Ha! Do you see my point? Entertainers are not here FOR us, they’re here SHARING WITH US their gifts. Helping us emotionally when needed. And for that, I find it completely ethical and within their creative rights to charge me for every sliver of their craft. If I don’t want it, then I can go listen to someone else. Just my two cents...

  12. Yeah, shipping to Canada was only around $6. We can't even ship within our own country for that cheap.

  15. I snagged a pink copy as I slept on the first pressing. Sirens is a must though. I prefer Sirens over this album but both are great though.

  16. Saw this on the 7th and just got around to picking it up. I'll be excited to listen through the LP. I would've been a giant fan if I was local to you in 2001. 14 yo fanboyism.

  20. https://www.srcvinyl.com/slipknot-slipknot-lp.html Only reason why I'm posting this is because the track list shows that it has Get This, Interloper (Demo), and Despise (Demo). I wonder if they will actually be on it... if so I want it. But I'll wait til it's released and get confirmation

  21. Yeah... I hate brining it up over and over, but Code Orange's streams have beaten everyone else's by a long shot. Very little creativity, like "let's take what we do live, and then just stick a few cameras in front of us." It's live, you put a chat there for a reason, maybe read from it and react to fans or something, I don't know. What Code Orange did right: 1) Using Twitch. Because it's VC funded, they have unlimited hours to do whatever the hell they want. I'm pretty sure this Soundrink platform that got spun up overnight charges by the hour or 30 minute segments since it involves lots of servers backing it. This means that likely, bands will want to cut out chit chat or idleness because the fans want music more than chit chat. 2) Because it's free, people are much more likely to take that money that would have gone to gas and the show ticket to buy merch. They sold out of a ton of stuff. 3) They realize it's not a "concert". It's a livestream, things should be a little different. So they went out of their way to edit and splice together all the visuals, use those as interludes and over them playing. I get that it's unfair to ask artists to pick all these amazing skills spontaneously, but to that I submit The Front Bottoms stream as secondary evidence. They also did theirs on Twitch and I feel like it went well for similar reasons. They had random interludes, they had a segment where they talked about books they were reading, did a few costume changes in the middle of some inflatable palm trees. Nothing difficult, but more friendly of a stream than just "here's some music".

  24. Shipping from BSM is only like $5.12 if it's not tracked. Also worth noting - this is a one time limited edition pressing. There's less than 100 copies of the black variant in the band's store and probably not many left at BSM. And as mentioned, the clear w/ red smoke (variant I choose!) is sold out. Also I did the artwork for this is and the packaging is nice! Reverse board matte jackets, printed inner sleeves, and there's a sticker on the shrink wrap covering Sarah's eyes like an old school mug shot.

  29. create an account (if you don't already have one) and make sure you're logged in. add the items you want to you cart. at the checkout page, pick the country/region to where you want your order shipped from the drop-down menu. type in your name. for the mobile number, keep the Australian country code the same (+61) and in the mobile number field, type: 04xxxxxxxx (e.g. i typed in 04, followed by the first 8 digits of my mobile number). that should eliminate any "invalid number" error message that prevents you from proceeding to checkout. in the alternative, keep the Australian country code (+61) the same and just type in: 452070075 (this is some random, generic number for fence company in australia that has worked for me in the past). JB Hi-Fi isn't going to call you about an international online order -- they'd e-mail you with any problems. then type in your address details. pick a shipping method. then, the "Proceed to Checkout" button should illuminate to a green color, and you should be able to move on from there.

  30. The 7" test press of Vow's album Make Me Young. I reached out to the band, but none were willing to sell. I have every variant of every release, except for that one. Edit: Found out that they only made two test presses, one for each member of the band. Both are keeping their copy for sentimental value. No way will I ever get a copy (unless one becomes beyond desperate for money). My ultimate white whale I suppose.
