  2. It’s refreshing to see people actually trying to help instead of ripping him to shreds. Great work VC! God knows it could of very easily gone the other way on this board. That’s honestly what I expected.

  3. This is me as well. I saw them last week in Detroit and thought they sounded great, and enjoyed the setlist. I have now seen them six times since 2007, and while I mourn that there are some songs I'll never hear them play again, I am OK with. A friend went with me last week who doesn't really know Thrice, and I explained to him that the band played none of my top-5 favorite Thrice songs, but I I knew they wouldn't, and I was OK with it. My favorite part of the set was when they played "Buried in the Sun" and "Just Breathe" back-to-back, as those are my fav songs from each of the most recent two albums.

  4. Been going to thrice shows for nearly 20 years now. I’m thankful not to see the same old shit/same old show for the umpteenth time. Thankful for something different. It would be a waste of money to just hear the songs I’ve heard live 20-30 times already. At this point, I hope I never hear Deadbolt live again.

  6. https://uproxx.com/indie/chris-pratt-mouse-rat-album-refuse-promote/ I suspected this. At least a few key people involved were out of the loop.

  9. Seems like full EP is coming out digitally tomorrow, and from what I can tell of people who already have access due to timezones, first 2 tracks are rock songs, and the rest of the EP is instrumental/movie score

  10. Of the Welcome to Blumhouse movies from last year, Black Box was probably the best, thought it’s more Twilight Zone than straight horror. I haven’t watched any from this year.

  13. Midway through a first listen and can confidently call it a fun record. I'm not a devout ETID fan but I do think their last record was super consistent. This one seems to be keeping in step without missing a beat which is definitely impressive to me. Nice. First thing I did was Ctrl + F like and see about a third or quarter as many as that TWIABP interview. 😜

  17. I really loved Raw, having now seen Titane I would say that I like Raw better, but both are super top-notch (with Titane leaning a bet heavier into the wtf am i watching factor). Still haven't seen Creep; *really* enjoyed Duplass in Safety Not Guaranteed, and Creep 1/2 have been on my list for a while not, but i always find something else to watch instead. I dug Daniel Isn't Real - i wasn't particular crazy about either of the main characters either, and i was a bit on the fence through the first half, but the end worked really well for me. I don't think i've seen a single one of the Blumhouse movies yet. Are any specific ones of them standouts?

  18. It sounded fucking awesome on my AirPods Pro with Spatial Audio on. I'm not sure it was mimicking 5.1 but it sounded incredible.

  19. Up on Kompakt’s Bandcamp now too, but still pricey with shipping: https://kompakt.bandcamp.com/album/der-lange-marsch Bleep should be putting this up at some point, maybe better shipping from them.

  20. I feel you. I don't know, maybe I'm just in the minority there then. After hearing Keith's interview with Jesse Leach about the story behind Low Teens lyrics/theme, that album just started to really get personal. Every time I hear those songs I put myself in those shoes and how horrible it would all be. I also fell in love with the production. Will's ability to make the drums sound BIGGER than any ETID record to that point had me hooked (I'm a drummer, so that's where my bias comes in 🤭).

  24. Yup. I would anticipate at worst, maybe 1 or 2 Shaq gifs or zany / sarcastic responses... but for the most part, it seems like a genuine question and the boards are so slow these days that some folks probably enjoy the "challenge". Way different than everyone dog-piling on a new face trying to half-ass a thesis paper.

  25. Eh, I think people here can tell when someone is genuinely asking a question or just lazy/never coming back, and respond accordingly.

  26. Haven't dropped into this thread for a while, but I agree that the medium was wicked !! It didn't feel like a found footage movie to me, they really made it feel like a genuine anthropology documentary like something you'd see on National Geographic. At least, until shit really starts to hit the fan. Acting was great, cinematography was great, ending was great.

  30. I thought it was fantastic! I loved how the songs were significantly different than the album versions. I felt like it had a good balance between the narrative and the performance. Looked gorgeous. If you've been following the lore it answered some questions and added some new ones. Literally my only gripe is that the end of On Jupiter wasn't longer.

  31. Also, I think I've read about 10 of the album reviews out there so far and I gotta say, the consensus is: this may very well be, even given how monumental Low Teens was, ETID's best work to date. I haven't been excited about an album like this since, well, ever. May just start buying CD copies anywhere I go to give to strangers. Because everyone deserves to enjoy something this great.

  34. Numero just needs to absorb them or something, I completely agree. Seam and The For Carnation have been near the top of my list for some reissues from T&G.
