Got mine in today. I can't report the same SQ issues, albeit I jumped right into the second volume (orange). So far I'm onto the C side and they sound great!

I asked a local store if they had a copy and was told they didn't but then i just saw on their discogs page that they are trying to sell the gold for $30. shit like that will make me never shop there again.

Hello people! I've join this forum to see if I can get any advice in regards to a project I am undertaking I have decided to turn my passion for music into a career and I'm looking into the possibility of starting my own collectors and new records, CD's and memorabilia retail business. Do any of you guys have any experience or know of anybody who would be kind enough to offer help and advice? Any help at all would be great Andi

And here we go again.. Americans crying about "high" shipping. For us it would be like 45. Seriously 13, wish it was for 1 record for me not 5. stop bitching and be grateful for not have to pay about 50% of all costs on shipping. Its not against you personally, just the idea.

From what I can tell, the "good customer service" is not really that random. If you order a record that they actually have in stock, they will typically ship it to you. No issues! If, however, 1) you need to make a change to an order, 2) something you've ordered is not yet available, 3) they have oversold an item, 4) you placed a pre-order or 5) God forbid you actually want to talk to them, this is when the customer service experiences start to get dicey. If you're curious, or just bored, try calling their customer service number. It's 888-747-3899.

They have a movie streaming service like Netflix, and a music streaming service like Spotify. They also give you deals earler than any one else and TYPICALLy release day delivery of new records/movie/books. For a 100 dollars a year I don't know if it is worth that, but since I was a student I got it for 50 bucks a year.

Picked up an orange copy. And it was on sale. Thanks for the info! It sucks that shipping prices are so steep but oh well.

I'll sell it for $400 plus shipping. That's the lowest anywhere really. If you live in Southern California we can meet up for a transaction without the shipping. If anyone wants to bid above the price mentioned it's open to anyone.

/rant Just my opinion... All I can think about is how basic most of the music is. They have a lot more skill than they are showing here. I understand they are going for an emotional mood over a display of their technical abilities but it inevitably feels like a dumbed down effort. The production is not something I really get. The guitars feel subdued. There's not a lot of dynamics to work with in the first place but when the music does rise and fall, I don't feel the production reflecting it well (The last track gets close though). That's part of what I really liked about their past work. Those emotional drops and build ups. This record has its moments but I felt more underwhelmed than anything. I think if I give it some time and just accept it for what it is, I can enjoy it in the future. Kind of curious about what they will do next.

I buy and sell collections, been doing it for quite a few years. It's a side hobby and allows me to get really good records for free and make a few bucks. I sell at local fleas during the summer because the spaces are cheap and I have an email list that I blast a week before the sale letting folks know I'll be setting up. It's a lot of work and while it's definitely worth my time, however, if I did the same thing in a shop setting, paid taxes, employees, insurance, etc., I wouldn't make a dime. It has always been a dream to open my own store, but I have a really good job and it would make zero sense to abandon that and enter into a venture that's sadly not very profitable. I have several friends that own really good shops and it's a constant grind for them, they're always asking me to help them out with buying from my stock because there's so much competition. I honestly don't recommend it unless you want to put in a lot of hours for very little return. I would recommend doing it as a side hobby like I do because it has taught me a lot, expanded my collection for free, and allowed me to make some cash to put toward vacations with my wife and home repairs. It's still like having a second full time job, but it's an all cash business and well worth the time and energy. Regardless in what direction you go in, I wish you the best of luck.
