  1. You guys are the best. Can't wait to hook my new Crosley up to some Sony boom box speakers. You think I'll need a separate phono pre (too lazy to read the beginners thread)?

  5. Thank you VC for all the rec's on new bands, new releases, 'Quick, order now!', 'Hey,xxxLabel just found 5 more copies!' help with finding LPs, the community and for keeping the boards entertaining in many respects I usually like to do "skill" based giveaways vs. pure chance, but I'm too tired/lazy. So, for any US collectors who would like a sealed repress of "Fantasies" from Last Gang Records, just post the first piece of vinyl (single or LP) you bought with your own, earned money: what it was and how old you were. edit: added options of some postrock, Caspian Tertia 2xLP or Jakob: Sines 2xLP For those who don't win Sec's "Tired Of Tomorrow* awesome giveaway, here's a chance for a little consolation. I'll do a random drawing on Friday 3/25, so all entries must be in by Thursday 3/24 12:00MN EST.

    TIRED OF GIVEAWAYS?

Hello VC, Secular Haze here. I am giving away a FREE copy of the highly anticipated upcoming record from the band Nothing, titled 'Tired of Tomorrow.' This copy is pressed on Baby Pink / Bone White Merge vinyl and is limited to 2,000 units. For those that have never heard this band, this is an excellent opportunity to explore a new genre of music. For those that have, this is a great chance to secure a variant that you most likely did not order. To enter this giveaway, simply post in this thread: The last (3) records that you listened to The last show you attended Your favorite TV show I will select a winner at random on the night of Thursday, March 24. Good luck to all!

  8. This is exactly how I'm feeling. I understand people were upset about the Paypal thing, especially if you don't have access to a card. I freaked out and jumped out of my comfy bed to grab my wallet. Then my regular card didn't work and I had to use another. I hope he charges at least $25 for the live record, considering that's how much extra the diehard buyers had to pay to get the supposed /100. If he charges less I will really feel like a sucker. It's funny that I just happened to be awake and made the last minute decision to buy it. I think a simple future solution is to just press more of the diehard and obi editions. More sales, more happy people, maybe a little less whining. Then maybe he can lower the price a tad. I've never run a label, so I can't claim to know anything about this.

  10. It bothers me only because it makes the presence of "false rare" on this item. It was supposed to be limited to the 100 for die hard. Then all of a sudden people bitch and he feels the need to do a 2nd pressing of it. Hey dopethrone record he pressed sold out and i never got to buy it. Think he will press it now because im complaining about it?

    The Walking Dead

It's a brilliant movie at that. As for betting money on who will die... I hate to ruin your guys fun, but I'd be careful with that. I follow a (pretty large) community that posts spoilers of the episodes every week (sometimes earlier if they get something juicy) and I can almost promise you that people like me will know who gets the big death in the finale before it actually airs. Not to say I plan on participating or would do that, but some might.

  15. This band is hilarious. Most overrated humans on earth put out a fucking masterpiece, then break up only to come back and tarnish said masterpiece a decade-ish later. Classic.

    The Walking Dead

Seemed weird people I'm friends with on social media were cheering Maggie and Carol on when clearly neither of them want to be about that life anymore. Perhaps Morgan is rubbing off on her somewhat (i.e. Carol baking cookies for everyone like everything is gonna be ok, being scared of what she knows she's capable of doing, etc). Donnie dies at the end because if he never leaves his bed and gets crushed by the jet engine his girlfriend doesn't get hit by a car and he doesn't murder Frank. He also let's a pedophile not get caught up by doing this. It's a pretty fucked up movie when you think about it.

PO || SUMAC - What One Becomes

Derek, A Minor Forest are so so good. 90s math rock recorded by Steve Albini and Bob Weston. I'm not good at describing music and would make an awful music journalist but this'll speak for itself: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p5Aqneq5J_s

  23. Really hope that someday someone sees fit to unleash every passable track from the 200 or whatever she recorded for this album. Judging by the bonus tracks released so far there must be a few albums' worth of relative gold going to waste.

  26. I'm going to generously donate my old Crosley to Seafinch as soon as I upgrade, because clearly that would be a step up or two from his Thorens.

I think we should start a fund of some sort for Seafinch, being forced to use that entry level stuff is obviously abuse of some kind.

I mean really it's not like seafinch is using anything better than a Crosley and Sony speakers.

    PO: M83 - Junk

Again, new song is kinda meh. I fell in love with m83 with no vocals so I don't know how I feel about songs that depend on them. They are missing emotion. EDIT: On second listen it starts really strong. But when the drums kick in its kinda cheesy.
