  1. Is this the best Foxing record to date? I think this may be the best Foxing record to date.

  2. Album is fantastic. I need more time to feel it out but damn have they outdone themselves. When an almost hour long record sails by as easily as this one you know it's special.

  3. I'm honestly a fan of his music but yeah he can dial down the whole "I'm too cool even for the hipsters" thing anytime now. Sorry, don't want to derail the thread; I heard something about a variant too. My local shop is supposed to be taking care of me. I tell my friends this all the time:if you have a local record store, shop there as much as possible and get to be good friends with the owner.

  5. Sorry to bump an old thread. Was just going through my records and figured out that my OG copy is signed by Mark Arm. When I bought it two years ago I never really thought it was an autograph from a band member.

  6. To be fair, Earl said something first.

  7. Definitely the best to date. Didn’t think that would happen because I love Dealer so much but this album is so unique. The bagpipes in Bastardizer, the synthy pop vibes in Heartbeats and Trapped In Dillard’s. Also Lich Prince and Won’t Drown are my their top tracks from this album.

  8. I'm a fan of the stupid bleeping in Trapped In Dillards. After 4 listens the only song I'm not head over heels for is Crown Candy. The whole album is a middle ground between Foxing and Smidley. I hoped that wouldn't happen because a few of the Smidley songs are terrible but they did it and I was wrong which is cool.

  9. You're welcome. Lich Prince is probably my favorite song, followed by Grand Paradise. Bastardizer is really good too but it took a few listens for me to notice how god damn good it is. I'm completely blown away by this album and I've been listening to it non stop. Dealer was my favorite album of 2015 and this will probably end up as my favorite album of 2018

  12. He's a good dude and a good songwriter. I'm not in love with his music, but he manages to drop good singles and can really drop gems every once in a while. Stay for example I think is his best song he's made, but as a whole I'm not a big fan of this album. I know a lot of people who are though, and I'm sure some VCers want this on wax.

  13. this is one dude where I do not get the hype at all.. yet people flock to him every new release like he’s actually talented.. is it because he plays 3 chords on an acoustic guitar when the auto tune gets dull? we will never know...

  15. My issue with that track is really just my super picky lyric aesthetic problem. Something about the whole "son of a bitch" and recitation of the title "bastard samurai"... I don't know. Those parts really stick in my craw. Musically I think its a nice break from faster, pummeling tracks with some varied grooving. So yeah, just a stupid, picky lyric issue on that one. I think "How Dark We Pray" is probably in my top 3 favorite HOF tracks. That's an example of metal genius right there. I love it.

It gets much better. I half watched the first two episodes in chunks and they were OK but episodes 3 and on have been great.

  20. I’m guessing you don’t realize I work for Pure Noise and am kind of the voice of the label here. So, not really amused about this.

  22. My wife and I started this on recommendation from the Shock Waves podcast but we couldn't get past the first episode because of how painfully Canadian it is. Although I've heard season two (each season is a self contained story) is much better.

  23. Same. I'm shocked there is someone put there that doesn't like that song. SHOCKED.
