  1. I play all of my records, even when I have multiple variants of something. It's my way of sort of justifying having them. I'm not gonna damage the test press by playing it, unless there's some freak accident as I'm handling it. Never going to sell it, so I might as well enjoy having it.

  2. Sounds like some insider trading if you ask me...

  4. I got my tape yesterday too. It won't work in my portable tape player without putting pressure on it. It works in the tape deck I have in my room though. Kinda sucks but I have a few other portable players I could try out. Also, The vinyl release date has been pushed back to the beginning of November. I believe they will all be Red/Black split but not too sure. I tried cancelling my order from their shop so I could just get it from bullmoose but I got some automated message crap saying orders are processing blah blah. The album is good but not "it took a year to make this" good. I enjoy their others projects more to be honest. I don't like Scrim's vocals, they don't sound full or layered enough. Not sure how to explain it. Maybe because they were trying to record more "professionally"? Not sure if they had someone else mix and master it but it sure sounds that way. I guess that's the main issue I have with this album. It's definitely one of those albums that gets better with each listen.

  8. Really? I loved those games and I like Spiderman way more than Batman. I'm holding off on picking this up for a while because of my backlog of games, but I'm super excited about it.

  9. I remember going to the family values tour in 99 and everyone being upset soad didn't play. I had no idea who they were until I saw them at the summer sanitarium tour. Psyched to be getting the first three.

  10. Sounds about right. Either way, there's never a shortage of good punk bands pumping out of Athens. I'd give a bunch of money to go back to a guFF show back in the day (2001-2002ish). I might even pick up a TEST PRESSING. Conversation comes full circle. Boom.

  11. this is such a cool record. even the butt rocky song still has some cool vocal stuff and a nice flurry of aggression towards the end (still not a huge fan of that song) but everyone else is nice. Branch in a River has one of the cooler outros in the band's disco

  12. Yes, I know she was in Red Sparowes, I was wondering if any of the guys from the band were also in her solo band.

  14. Make sure to check out Marriages as well if you already haven't. It's herself and Greg Burns (Red Sparowes), with a couple of rotating drummers. https://marriagesmusic.bandcamp.com/

  15. You should add a "because they're free" option in the second question answers. Both test presses I have I won from contests.

  16. I have one test press and I've played it numerous times. It's for the only album I have a complete variant set of, so when the label put a test on eBay I was determined to win it.

  17. I probably have about 20. No people don't play them. Even the labels don't play most of them at this point. Back when less people collected vinyl labels would press 5-10 to actually listen to a check the sound. Now labels are pressing 20 so they can sell them later as collector's items. How much one would pay depends on the person and the test. You could also ask why people have multiple variants of the same record.

  18. Got excited until I saw this isn't out until January. I mean, still excited, but that's ages away! Really looking forward to hearing it, their last album was incredible.

  21. Now the waiting game.....6 to 9 weeks.....more like 6 to 9 months. Still waiting on Timeless, pun intended. Haha. Would like Cham! on vinyl. Actually bought their cd and it so far is my favorite Macross 82 99.

  23. Looks like Bullmoose (and likely other indie stores) are getting glow in the dark mixed in with the black variants. (could this be the "blue" in their latest FB post?)https://www.bullmoose.com/p/28095180/smashing-pumpkins-shiny-and-oh-so-bright-vol-1-limited-version-1-10-randomly-mixed-glow-vinyl-w-bl-poster

  24. Maybe one day the collector mindset will die off and labels won’t be able to get away with it, until then you’ve just gotta have will power I guess. Who am I kidding though? The most limited shiny version of anything will always be worth more to some portion of any fanbase and they will buy extra crap to get it (I am including myself in this subsection of collectors, at least for some bands).

  25. Finally listening to this and it's super interesting/good. I'm surprised people are bored by this. Put on a good pair of headphones and hear how good this sounds...also, that bass tone is everything on this record.

  31. I only have 1 TP. It's a former band of a couple of my friends from back home (RIP KarbomB). It's a "Fest Press" out of 25. The # is a little high, but considering there are 2 bands and a label involved, not too bad. My little brother picked it up for me at Fest, and wouldn't let me pay him. It's also one, the first by months, of 3 versions of the record. I played it a couple of times. I'd never pay more than $75 for a TP, AND ONLY THAT MUCH FOR A BAND I TRULY LOVE. Like Against me! or Coheed. If I grabbed one of those band's TPs, I probably would not play it.
