  1. What a scam. Forcing the people that missed this initially and have been waiting months for an update on this final variant to buy a t-shirt in order to get it. Horrible business practices.

  2. Use your own brain to form your own opinions. Try it out – I think you'll like it. On first listen, FTBC is enjoyable / fun / catchy. Not sure if I'd call it a flawless 10 but I also don't hinge my tastes on music publications way past their prime. Your results may vary.

  3. I guess that’s the issue I have is what you just wrote in your last paragraph. The first thing I saw about a new Fiona Apple album was on pitchfork. And I saw it get a best new music which didn’t surprise me as it deserves that. But then I saw the phrase “no music has ever sounded quite like it” and the 10 review. So I immediately jumped to Spotify to stream this unique music I’ve never heard before and a few songs in I was like “this is another Fiona Apple album”.

  4. I absolutely disagree. They’re essentially baking in extra profit by adding an item most don’t want. They could’ve just put the record up alone for $65 shipped and it would’ve sold out. I had no doubt it would. Just because an item that’s very in demand sells out doesn’t automatically mean the business is absolved of shady practices. They artificially inflated the price/profits by adding a T-shirt that cost probably $7 (I’m totally guessing...never printed ringer shirts before) to make.

  8. Well no release announcement for Dear Tommy as speculated, but looks like its at least moving nearer. New tracklist revealed & new track Teacher released. Looking at IDIB responses to questions on Youtube when asked if it means DT is coming very soon they say "soon is relative", so make of that what you will! They also say JJ has a plan for the tracks removed from the previous tracklist. 01 Fresh Blood 02 Glitter 03 Never Tell 04 Just Like You 05 She Says 06 The Moment 07 Time Rider 08 White Fences 09 Teacher 10 Between the Lines 11 Too Late 12 Dear Tommy 13 Melodrama 14 Ultra Vivid 15 Colorblind 16 Sometimes 17 Dream Sequence 18 Endless Sleep

  9. You guys see the one dude (Nick Manske) is putting out a solo project called Seer Believer on Will Yip’s label that he recorded with the other members of Gleemer? They just dropped their first single on Brooklyn Vegan, honestly doesn’t sound much different than where I see this new Gleemer record going which is sick - I’m very into it. https://memorymusic.limitedrun.com/products/666520-seer-believer-bent

  13. The yellow variant was eventually meant for something else which is why it was held out for so long. They decided to scrap the idea and do it as a bundle instead. Either way... thanks for everyone’s support with our collab!

  15. Assigning a number score to a record is dumb but, if we’re wading into those waters, I have no problem with this getting a 10. It’s really good and it’s a bit more ferocious and weirder than Idler Wheel, which also could deserve a 10 on an imaginary subjective number scale. On my own scale of “Hell yeah” to “I love this”, I give it a “this is a new Fiona Apple album!!!!”

  16. I'm happy to report that you are not required to purchase the bundle if you aren't feeling the "terms and conditions". Looks like this sold out pretty quickly, which of course justifies it's market price. I agree that I would rather buy this for $30, and not the bundle as well, but it's definitely not horrible business practice. They're a for-profit business, they see demand, and created a win/win for the individuals who did indeed follow through with the purchase.

  17. This is all there will be. It’s only available as a bundle.

  18. VMP liked a tweet that said "Please release When the Pawn... and Fetch The Bolt Cutters on vinyl" so maybe there will be another FTBC variant? I can't see Fiona doing a flashy variant but who knows- maybe they will just be sell standard copies w a cocktail recipe or something

  19. Hey, first time posting here. I read all 133 pages before posting. I saw several people have mentioned Zombies Ate My Neighbors, I’m always hoping someone will release it! My best friend growing up was Joe McDermott’s son so I had an interest in this soundtrack from an early age

  22. I know a lot of stores are doing documentary rentals to make some extra dough. If yours isn't I have 2 different ones here: Redscroll: (Other Music) https://othermusic.vhx.tv/checkout/redscroll-records-presents-other-music/purchase Limited to One: (Vinyl Nation) https://m.bpt.me/event/limited-to-one/4567320 Vinyl Nation is brand new, so this one is pretty big. Other Music has been out, but it's supposed to be really good. Two great ways to support 2 cool stores.

  24. I appreciate the serious reply, but I was being dorky. You're correct about her stuff being sporadic early on... i remember my wife rolling her eyes when I 'overpaid' for a $35 OG copy of Extraordinary Machine in 2010. Vinyl Me Please seems to have gotten their claws into her catalog, though, so I would expect that they'll have something that will be available for a bit.

  28. Derek, you slap massive dong! But in all seriousness, I am guessing that their "prime" was when they were limited to a bubble of white, indie, incel music in the mid aughts? Their scope has since broadened. Their reviews are simply a point of reference which generally help catapult most musicians who are featured. But, make no mistake, there will not be a publication that doesn't triumph the genius of this album.
