  4. Busy week for the Gorillaz people. Just today we got a new track. This one is completely a whole new B-side separated from both the Deluxe and Super Deluxe albums. We also have the new merch website that takes the old name of the phase 1 webstore, G-FOOT, that is now up: http://us.gfoot.store/ Last but not least on Saturday, you can livestream their full set at Demon Dayz Fest here: https://www.redbull.com/ca-en/watch-gorillaz-demon-dayz-margate-red-bull-tv It's good to be a Gorillaz fan these days.

  6. I wouldn't let it bug you too much. You raise a good question, and ideally you should only be able to subtract from a quote – which also leaves room for mischief in the right context – but it is what it is... which usually just boils down to comedic value. Unless someone is trying to subtly and seriously misguide everyone else by painting my quotes in a negative light, I usually just chalk it up to being cheeky.

  7. I've had trouble listening to this band for the past couple of months since all of this stuff started leaking out. Not in the "ew they're problematic" way, I just don't have the emotional fortitude to try and listen "around" the issues, if that makes sense. It's never been easy for me to separate the artist from the art, but I don't begrudge anyone who can. TWIABP were my favorite band for years. I felt some degree of closeness with their music that I don't often feel. The notion that one or more of them, people I respected and trusted, could have been consistently abusive is deeply upsetting. That probably sounds weird given that we don't know what happened, but something did happen, and now we're in the dark. Maybe that's worse? I dunno, keep vinyl-ing as usual. I wasn't sure where else to post this. Shit sucks.

^same. The whole ordeal kinda soured me toward the label. Luckily, the music is just as good as I remember.

  10. All joking aside, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt for the first fuck up. After that though, the pitchforks come out.

  11. Anyone else get info about their new orders? Nothing over here

  12. Grabbed Prick, Lost Highway (color; glad I waited out on the MOV pressing), Broken and The Fragile 20% code could only be applied to the first two so will save it as it lasts for a year and I'm not sure what else will be available given the surprises that have shown up. Also, to repeat sub$16 USD 7+LPs shipped to Canada = Canuckle VERY impressed.

  18. It seems The Lonely Sea & The Sky from 93millionmilesfromthesun is getting a vinyl press. A diy label, called String Light. Limited to 300. I tried to find a pre-order link but it seems they are doing the newsletter link thing. Their site needs work though. Lets see how it goes. I can't wait, this is one of my favorite releases this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPtdMIGs6Nw&feature=youtu.be

  19. Newbury is a retail store not a record label. Any consistency you may find in their exclusive variants would be coincidence as there are different labels and pressing plants involved in each one.

  20. Wow, with the way things are going, If I were Jim Cramer I'd be slamming the SELL button on any high-$ original pressings of 2000s T&N releases. I'm still holding out hope for someone other than Tooth & Nail to repress the Starflyer 59 catalog. Maybe if Lo Tom is a runaway hit, Barsuk will step up to the plate.

  21. Even though I bought some a couple of weeks ago they reeled me back in with this stupid coupon code. Damn you Newbury, stop releasing things I want. What do you guys think of the overall quality of these pressings? I recently bought the Odyssey and Oracle tri-color and it has significant popping (and even skipping) in some areas. I'd complain and return but they're all gone. Plus it looks too damn cool. Still though, a brand new $35 LP should be nice and clean.

  44. So I'm moving and records are last so I have excess space. That means it's collection photo time so here's a few of my favorite complete discographies that I've hoarded over the years. If I'm missing a record [Pablo Honey] it doesn't count so that ruled out a lot of large artist collections I have that are bigger than these. (I don't have access to my 7"s and 10"s but basically have all of those for each artist too.) The Appleseed Cast Arcade Fire Built to Spill Dreamend Godspeed You! Black Emperor Modest Mouse Prawn Titus Andronicus (lol Local Business really is the red-headed step-child.)
