    Help?

Welcome to VC! Just a heads up, you're posting this question in the wrong section. You may have more success in the "Everything Else" section.

  6. They're left there by the dancing cats that work in the pressing plant, carefully sleeving each LP one at a time.

  7. So I saw this box set on ebay Tues night for sale with a Buy it Now price of $19.11 (Canadian $). Seller was importcds-ca with a kabillion feedback so bought it figuring it would be cancelled or the wrong record would be sent. It was also free shipping and to my shock arrived today only 2 days later. Needless to say I'm going to be buying a lottery ticket this weekend!

  8. I started collecting MP3s in about 2001, and if I try to play any of the tracks I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320kbps, they just sound like crap. The bass is terrible, the midrange…well don’t get me started. Some of those albums have degraded down to 32 or even 16kbps. FLAC rips from the same period still sound great, even if they weren’t stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to FLAC, you may not be able to hear the difference now, but in a year or two, you’ll be glad you did.

  9. Greatest industrial group to ever graze this planet. I can't think of a band more deserving of a (hopefully) complete discography reissued on vinyl.

  11. I did never, in a million years, expect to be disappointed by an arcade fire record... especially since it's my favourite band and I really liked all four singles. But man, when peter pan came on i thought this is the worst thing these guys have ever written, good news is it probably won't get worse...and then fucking chemistry comes on and i just think what the fuck is this shit... those infinite content songs have a nice chord progression but it does nothing for a hypothetical narrative of the record. Put your money on me is the only song left that is 'okay' i guess, a lot of people praise this song as one of the best they've ever written, don't know about that man... Listened to the record 3 times now and i really really hope it will grow on me...I really want it to...I normally don't form an opinion on a record after only a day but peter pan and chemistry are reason enough to make this their worst record by far, as a huge fan this really hurts

  16. ms. cupcake is an awesome vegan cupcake shop in Brixton if you're in the area. My favourite restaurant by far is Itadakizen near Kings cross which does amazing vegan sushi but it is a bit pricey and you need to book for the evenings. Also at Kings cross is Vx which is a small vegan shop that also does burgers etc which are good. I also like the Black Cat in Hackney which is a vegan cafe. There's a new place called Temple of Hackney that's opened up nearby that I have yet to try but it seems to be getting a lot of good reviews.

    Help?

There's an iPhone app called "The Vinyl District" that uses your location to show you record stores around your area. I've never been to the UK, so I'm not sure if it only works in the US, but you could give it a try if you have an iPhone!

Hi, are you planning on visiting? Apart from googling I don't know of any decent stores in Milton Keynes/Bedford (I'm in Peterborough) but there is a bus service (Stagecoach X5) from Milton Keynes/Bedford to Cambridge which has Lost In Vinyl who are very good. They also have Black Barn Records which is a vinyl/memorabilia shop and very pricey but good for a browse. It costs around £10 for a dayrider ticket on the bus, and Cambridge is always worth visiting imo. http://www.lostinvinyl.org/about

  21. Its a little unfortunate so many of these Sub Pop bands went and skipped labels so much in the 90s because I would love to snag a box set treatment for Afghan Whigs. Same for Screaming Trees and Mudhoney.

    Help?

Might need to stretch a little further a field, and only going based on my knowledge, but there's a couple in Nottingham including a decent Rough Trade which opens late on Fridays/Saturdays (and whilst you're there, grab a burger from Annies Burger Shack). Northampton has Spun Out, but didn't go in when we drove pass, not sure if it's mostly dance music or what, but they did a RSD thingy so guessing they'll have that Toto Africa die-cut picture disc everyone wants! Else trains to London take 40 mins from either Milton Beans or Bedford (some of these trains take a little longer, so the former is better) and you'll have plenty of selection in Soho to browse about.

  30. It's a primo set. I was lucky enough to get one at retail. The thing is a goddamn tank, but if you're thinking about buying one nowadays, be aware that the PVC sleeves that the records originally came in are prone to leaving a shitty non-removable haze on the records. I swapped mine out before any real damage was done, fortunately.

  36. I updated with the pressing numbers I could find. If anyone is able to find the pressing numbers for the Red, please let me know and I'll update. Also, for the Patreon exclusive, if you try viewing the product on JSR Direct, it will ask for a log in. However, I was able to add it to my cart from the search results page by hovering over the product and clicking "Add to Cart". Not sure if they'll catch on and cancel these orders though.

  45. Ikea used to make a cabinet with drawers that were perfect for 7" storage called the Robin, it was really affordable but of course they discontinued it years ago. If you can produce something like this for a reasonable price I bet you'd get a lot of business.
