FYI I didnt, it came like that, mabye bc I signed up via Twitter: On a serious note, I didn't come up with that by myself, my local vinyl store recommended it, seen them do it as well, and I've been cleaning my vinyl (old and new) with Windex for 2 years now, never had any complaints, they actually always sound(ed) great afterwards. Soo idk what happened on this one, must've used a different brand than all the other times. Either way, can I get any honest ideas on what to do with this one, I suppose there's residue on it, any careful way to remove that?

Well done, welcome to VC good friend To answer your question: the damage is possibly already done, but the best you can do is clean it properly with record cleaning fluid and and remove whatever Windex residue is left on there.

Only use windex on your clear vinyl.

bleach works best for me, personally. scrub a little, sip a lottle.

I used a Spinclean to clean my windows once. It was kinda a hassle though.

Being part of a vinyl board and skipping songs in 2017? Yikes. Batter Up has some superb vocal melodies, too. It's such a nice comedown and slow burner after the string of tracks leading up to it. Love that hazy, surreal outro to it as well – sounds like wandering through a dream you're beginning to wake up from. Which is kind of perfect if you've got the album on loop and allow it to replay into the intro sample of the woman recalling her dream.

I've been using Kiwi shoe polish for years with no issue. They have a few different colors but I prefer black so I don't compromise the integrity of the vinyl

Good job lads. I think this might be the first time OP didn't throw a tantrum after a bit of light comedy. I'm guessing his German "windex" is probably much closer to being safe to use than ours. Actual windex is full of chemicals that just stick inside the grooves and dry. Ruining the record. If I had a $15 order that was not fulfilled I would email her and tell her to keep my $15. She's not running away with everyone's money and living the dream. I know for a fact she needs the $15 more than I do, and it was never her intention to screw people over. EDIT: I'm not saying everyone should do this, just that I am lucky to be in a position where she can keep my $20 bill.

It was coming but I'm glad they are taking steps to sort shit out. The whole situation is a total bummer. I know I've made my thoughts on Nicole/BWM/TWIABP/etc clear several times, but I just want to reiterate: I hope everyone heals and I hope Nicole can find a way to keep making music/art. You gotta remember that TWIABP merch/records was how BWM was able to fund their other projects. Nicole tried and failed to continue without that income. It sucks for the consumer, but she lost her livelihood. I firmly believe that she was trying to make it work and get that shit made/shipped and it just spiraled out of control and she just couldn't. They're trying to make it right. Last I heard Nicole was delivering pizzas, so that's where this money is coming from with the refunds. Most small labels operate at a loss trying to keep things going and eventually start earning a profit. It's not like going bankrupt with outstanding preorders was malicious. At least she is now taking responsibility and not just ghosting like RJ with those Blink preorders.

Woke up to go pee and decided to check it out. Damn. It's not good. I don't like it. At all. All I keep thinking is she took some leftover Panic! At The Disco throwaway track & hooked up with Pharrell's errand boy during Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" to come up with this hot mess. It's like she purposely tried to make a terrible attempt. I'd like to think that maybe one a few more listens I'll find some redeeming qualities to it, but on just the first impression, it's looking & sounding grim.

It's because you used the "German equivalent" to Windex instead of actual Windex. Believe it or not most record stores here in the US are starting to include free bottles with purchases.

I really couldn't have asked for more from brand new in 2017. I guess I should await more POs with a sense of impending disappointment, the feeling of being surprised pleasantly is much nicer than the typical overhype -> disappointed process.

I am having to force myself to play other albums in between listens of SF. If I set this on repeat, I will never stop. There is is not a single song I don’t like. After 10+ listens, Lit Me Up may be my favorite, but I still can’t even chose confidently. edit: in retrospect, it’s been far more than 10 plays.
