  6. It's expensive to send a single lp to Canada. Just for a record under 1 lb. it's $11, plus any packing materials. At least that's how much it costs when I ship using my shipping program. $2.99 for US isn't bad I guess if you're just ordering 1 or 2 records, but for anything more it seems pretty high.

  11. I am practically done. I have an almost complete Have Mecy collection. Tomorrow Brian Swindle of HM is mailing me a test press of The Earth Pushed Back, for free might I add. He is an awesome guy. ALL I need now is a TEST PRESS of A PLACE OF OUR OWN, and maybe the Collider Flexi. The first is much more important. If anyone has someone they know at Hopeless Records, works for Hopeless, or has any advice on getting one I would love you forever. I emailed them a few months back and they never got back to me. I am kind of hopeless at this point... I got the test press by other means, so I am happy

  16. $2.99 per item for US shipping is pretty painful.

  17. This is the part Im worried about. On top of it, I HAVE TO put a DDJ-SZ, 2 KRK Rokit 8s, PLX-1000 and a MBP. Thats about 120lbs on top of it. If these items cant go on top, the vinyl must stay in milk crates Im a construction worker so this wont be a problem.

  21. At least a double LP instead of the OG single. Also - this is my least favorite Switchfoot album that I've listened to.

  22. It does work. I still hate it. (The word itself, I mean...the genre is still one of my favorites)

  23. This band has been one of my favorite bands, and will probably stay there for as long as they continue to be a band. That being said, I cannot get into this record at all. After 2-3 listens, I really only like title track and Telephone Pole. It feels like a complete step backwards songwriting wise, most of the songs feel like not well thought out demos. The soundscapes they've created just don't do anything for me.

  31. Nothing will happen. This reminds me of the time in 1996 my car was broken into. A friend had taken a photo of my bare ass because you know, I was 19. I took the photo once developed and stashed it in my glovebox. The morning I came to find my car broken into the stereo was gone and everything was gone through but that photo was propped up nicely on the drivers side seat. I was so broke and pissed but still laughed my head off. I put it back in the glovebox and forgot about it until my Dad borrowed my car six months later and was pulled over by a cop only to find it tucked into the same envelope with my registration. Awesome conversation came later. What's the moral? I don't know but you reminded me of this story so why the hell not. Oh, don't sweat it too much and make your friend buy you a new drive.

  32. It's a cool package, but I have too many box sets already, so I'm probably gonna pass on this one. At the rate Third Man is going though, I'm looking forward to hearing footage from Jack White's 2nd grade Thanksgiving musical performance on a 7".

  33. I don't think shipping "went up" on everything. They appear to be charging more for items of a certain weight. I played around a little bit and could add 10 single LPs with no shipping increase, but anytime I added a 2xLP it seemed to jump by about $1.

  34. I still think it's a great deal. Their vinyl is usually already cheaper than most. I got Mellon Collin plus 3 other LPs for $130 shipped. Pretty stoked on that

  41. my post was mostly sarcastic. though as an honest remark, i will say that i think their whole "bad christian" thing is pretty ridiculous. i think them labeling everything as a branch of their new ideals just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. this whole "i'm a christian and everything i do is a reflection of that but i fuck up sometimes and you shouldn't judge me" attitude is really bazaar, especially when business is thrown into the mix.

  42. Okay I don't want to be "that guy" but I bought the original $200 test package because it was very limited to like 5 or whatever because Emery is one of my all time favorites. Now they are offering 20 more? How does that even work? You just make more tests? I know there are going to be different versions but you only need one round of approved tests. It's sort of frustrating that they did this. Anyone want to chime in on this?

  43. Not here to cause conflict or piss on anyone's parade, but I just wanted to say that anyone who drops $100+ on this Kickstarter in good faith - considering the band's last album - has got some serious balls.
    1 point
  44. For like the first hour I was trying to reason with myself to get the test press, that I needed it. But reason kicked in saying that $200 is way to much to shell out for something that I likely won't get until fall.
