Evidently the scheme was not acceptable as spotify pulled the album and changed their rules so other bands couldn't do the same thing. But props to any band that can do something creative like that to cover their costs of touring.

Something about listening to this one on vinyl hit me in a way streaming it didn’t. I’d recommend it. As for pressing quality, my copy was flat but did have a little surface noise in a couple of places out of the box. I’ll run it through the spin clean and it will probably be perfect. Aside from those couple of pops, it’s a quiet and rich sounding pressing.

You’re right. There’s just some speculation that US copies ended up as more of a red with black blob, from what I’ve gathered. If it’s all a giant dice roll I’m still into it and will gladly grab a copy for $20.

Shout out to this band for being a bunch of abuse apologists and liars since they knew since 2016 and called the victim an "accuser" after she sat down with all of them. Hopefully Pure Noise holds up that code of conduct Jake talked about in 2015. I respect them for giving Sam a second chance after the victim sat down with them but after lying and acting like that never happened this band does NOT deserve a platform since Sam has proven he hasn't changed. But now that multiple people have come forward along with theft and behavior issues that they tolerated, who knows who this "accuser" is anyway (by that I mean that it's very obvious who 2 of the victims are so it's unclear who they're referring to since they're lying).

If you're worried about being called a rapist, it likely has less to do with whatever position of power you perceive to hold, and more to do with how you treat women in general. Your perceived power, of course, should also not be your first stop at self-examination. That's a copout, i.e., 'this woman must be mad at me because I have more power over her.' The truth is, you're probably just behaving badly. Of course, that is not to say that people do not abuse power disparities to sexually assault women, but the central issue is not the power disparity. Lots of rapists (in fact, probably the majority) are loser nobodies.

Theres a big difference between a whole hearted "Yes" and and a half hearted "Sure". Both are affirmative answers, but they are light years apart in intention. Thats where the power dynamic can change things.

Instead of caving on that single I've opted to revisit Gore this morning. Are we all done pretending this album is anything less than fantastic? Not VC specifically, but I feel like a ton of people were shitting on it when it was released. It's not their best record to date but I think it's super consistent and aged nicely.
