Why press 5000 box sets that sold out almost instantly of a band with fans that have been waiting years for anything from this catalog to get repressed, when those vinyl presses could be shitting out 10 new variants of albums by The Used from nearly 20 years ago. I don’t know, doesn’t make any sense to me.

Hell yeah. This is one of those few odd discographies where I’ll buy the box set and could not care less about the limited edition or any box set extras. I just want these records and I’m happy.

Wherever I came across this I wasn't even going to listen to it since I've been spending too much lately. Gave it a listen and now I keep playing these two songs every day, which is rare for me. I'm hearing a distinct combo of SDRE and FOO, even though I'm pretty sure the main composer wasn't in those bands.

i don't know. it's not like it's a full length LP. It's only 7 songs. I think they would have a hard time selling these books without the record. And they know if they just sell the record, a bunch of fans are going to be pissed off. The Boxer Live LP never got a second press aside from the RSD press. There's really not precedent for this exact situation. It's really a gamble though, because if you really want the record enough to buy the book and then there's a vinyl-only option, I don't see the book holding its value. But if you don't buy the set waiting for a separate LP and it never comes, the prices will only go up. I think they may put the songs up on a streaming platform like they did with the Boxer Live LP and the Live Cassette sets, but releasing the record on its own would be kinda shitty after a bunch of people paid a premium for it initially.

I'd guarantee that all of these were produced at the same time as the first pressing and Beck's been sitting on the stock for years. I highly doubt we'll see another 14 month wait time like the first pressing.

I'm curious whether they'll actually sell the 8 song LP separately. It kinda...doesn't make sense as a release separate from the book? There's no longer a dearth of high quality National live releases on vinyl and this seems clearly like it's a low-energy, bonus add-on to make the book more appealing for their vinyl collecting fans. The National seem like they want everything they release to fit a certain level of thoughtfulness, so I would echo the above posts that any future pressing will come with some kind of slimmed down 'tether' item to the book, whether it's a paper back or an expanded jacket with a 35 page excerpt booklet or something. We'll see.

How is this still a thing? I keep a spreadsheet of all the things I pre-order, a status column, dates of last emails, shipping codes, etc. Currently sitting at 30 things, including some keycaps and protective outer sleeves which somehow got hit by delays too...

What really made me a fan of Adore was some of those bootlegs that were online. Boston ‘98 was a magical show. There are some others that ended up becoming Euro CD boots back in the day that could be really dope too. That ‘93 Astoria run would be amazing.
