  3. Also, now that I have time, I knew these would go in a hurry, and I'm surprised they haven't already announced a new, 2nd round variant. I get why it's annoying, but it's a pita to make a new thread, while on lunch, on my phone. I only bumped the thread to notify the 6 people who would care enough to even be on the boards midday. Between the way IG and FB have just become giant commercials for anything for sale, Reddit, Spotify, email, texts, and all the other shit bigger bands do to promote us giving them money, if you find out here there's too much disconnect from the artist for you to actually have fomo about it. (You= all you internet folks in general- myself included)

  8. I am not fine with him saying that bullshit, but I did read somewhere his apology. I believe he has grown and moved forward. I just saw them recently and it was beautiful. I still listen to them regularly. Of course, we all have to make up our own minds about apologies we accept or what we can tolerate from an artist even though we disagree. If he was still showing anti-Semitic signs, I'd get rid of all of my records by them.

  9. I was thinking about that recently as well. I last saw them live in 2008 or so and already the vocals were kind of rough. Johnny’s vocals couldn’t really match the highs from the recorded material. Actually all the times that I saw them they didn’t go up that high. Still would love to go to one of these shows though, they were just so ahead of their time.

  15. There was a listening party on Bandcamp for the album and holy fuck…there hasn’t been anything close this year to touching this album and I don’t think anything will for the rest of the year. It is spectacular.

  16. Yea, I’m sure they probably just didn’t play the tests or didn’t pay close attention when doing so. Just figured I’d weigh in that it IS possible they weren’t at fault.

  18. My favorite Ohio anecdote of all time is this: I was driving cross country with my at the time girlfriend, east to west coast. We drove straight through the middle of the country because why the fuck not, right? We're going through West Virginia (gross) and we get to the Ohio border and stop at literally the first place we see to use the bathroom. I walk in the door to this gas station bathroom and the first thing I see, not written huge or angrily - just kind of small and matter of fact, "West Virginia fucking sucks." I've chuckles to myself every time I've thought about that for the last 12 years. "Ohio: at least it's better than WV," will forever be their motto to me.

  20. "25th Anniversary Edition of AFI’s fourth studio album, Black Sails in the Sunset, first released on Nitro Records in 1999. Described by Alternative Press as the band's “first epic” in a 4.5-star review, the title is also the first to feature AFI's current line-up with the addition of Jade Puget. This special pressing features three bonus tracks; never-before-released song “Weight of Words,” Japanese B-side “Who Knew?” and “Lower It,” which is exclusive to the vinyl format." The Official Horror Thread

Haven’t seen any posts on this, but arty Silence of the Lambs with Nicholas Cage? I’m so in. Also looking forward to I Saw the TV Glow this weekend (although sounds like it might not be that much of a horror movie after all?).

  36. He finished the date album and rereleased it as Altavista. Fair warning he has referenced a “special vinyl” that is “coming soon” - could be this or there could be something else more elaborate on the way. https://childishgambino.com/products/atavista-vinyl-lp ps make a thread specifically for this if you want. I don’t give a crap.

  37. I thought about that too, and it’s plausible for sure. But you’d think the bad plates would’ve been destroyed after they were rejected as a precaution.

  38. "Columns of Impenetrable Light" is the cold new split between oppressive post-punk/darkwave outfit Bleached Cross (Protagonist Music) and post-punk stalwarts The True Faith (A La Carte Records). After working together on the co-release of the Bleached Cross B-Side and demo compilation "Exhumed," which featured a remix by The True Faith, both bands and labels have converged to deliver a sonic exploration of two sides of the same coin- ruminations on life and death, hope and despair, presented across 8 new propulsive and brooding tracks featuring two unique vinyl colorways on reverse stock jackets adorned with foil stamped lettering. The record also features art design by Coward's Way for a complete audio and visual experience. This is music for contemplating the void between the earthly realm and the infinite blackness that awaits us after our last breath. This is Columns of Impenetrable Light: step inside and see what lies beyond. Track Listing: 01. Bleached Cross "Grief's Eternal Wound" 02. Bleached Cross "Rain of Tears" 03. Bleached Cross "Litany" 04. Bleached Cross "The Weeping" 05. The True Faith "What If (I Could Tell You)" 06. The True Faith "The Means (ft. Dutch Experts)" 07. The True Faith "Life Awaits Us" 08. The True Faith "What Is Owed" /250 "Rain of Tears" silver in clear w/black and white splatter (Protagonist exclusive) /250 black in clear w/silver and white splatter (A La Carte exclusive

  39. Just about the only scenario that makes sense is that they previously rejected a test press missing track 3 and then approved a fixed one but then the plant used the wrong plates for the final product.

  42. Honestly, how could it not be DTR’s fault if they’re supposed to approve the tests beforehand? And I wonder what other NFG release they’re planning on releasing this year. Finally another NGCS repress? Or the first FTSTYS?

  43. 2 new singles out today with Andrew Wells (singer of Eidola). And they’re fucking awesome. Also, Andrew Wells talked about the future of the band today. He’s lead but they’re giving Jon more. He said it’s basically Secret Band 2.0 which is perfect. And Kurt Travis and Jonny Craig can hop on some tracks if they want. I’m very much looking forward to things now.
