  1. Not the best pic but gets the idea across. My Less Than Jake 7" collection. Now to find time to do the same for LPs and the other random records they have.

  13. Hello people! I've join this forum to see if I can get any advice in regards to a project I am undertaking I have decided to turn my passion for music into a career and I'm looking into the possibility of starting my own collectors and new records, CD's and memorabilia retail business. Do any of you guys have any experience or know of anybody who would be kind enough to offer help and advice? Any help at all would be great Andi

  16. And here we go again.. Americans crying about "high" shipping. For us it would be like 45. Seriously 13, wish it was for 1 record for me not 5. stop bitching and be grateful for not have to pay about 50% of all costs on shipping. Its not against you personally, just the idea.

  17. From what I can tell, the "good customer service" is not really that random. If you order a record that they actually have in stock, they will typically ship it to you. No issues! If, however, 1) you need to make a change to an order, 2) something you've ordered is not yet available, 3) they have oversold an item, 4) you placed a pre-order or 5) God forbid you actually want to talk to them, this is when the customer service experiences start to get dicey. If you're curious, or just bored, try calling their customer service number. It's 888-747-3899.

  25. Dude/dudette, if you're trying to make a buck off your records go straight to ebay because people don't want to buy your stuff for that much. This is the second sale thread I've seen you post today and your prices are junk. Someone would rather drop $200 on the alchemy index around here which was a pressing of /3000 than $200 for animals as leaders records that really aren't as rare as you think. Pressing numbers doesn't always matter and it doesn't make that specific record that much more rare or worth more. This is a community not a scalping parking lot.

  31. It's listed under CDs, it says FORMAT: AUDIO CD, the ASIN is B00PBE2GES (the vinyl edition's ASIN is B00PBE2GKW) and says number of discs: 3 (which is how many CDs there are in the CD boxset). It also is priced below how much the vinyl edition sold, but above the CD edition. There is no way it's the vinyl edition.

  36. Because there is at least one newbie post a day asking for advice, can we change the name of this thread please to something more likely for them to look at before posting? Most of these kids probably don't know what Hi-Fi means. Can it be called "An introduction to turntables: The beginners guide to Hi-Fi" The majority of the questions pertain to turntables even though the thread goes way deeper than that, hopefully it could draw new poster's eyes before they make a new post that just gets linked here. Just a suggestion.

    Rap Metal's Not Dead

Not sure if this is really the band posting or a VCer that is pretending to be this band. I'm too familiar with the VC brand of sarcasm to assume it's legit. Either way, I'll have to actually listen to the song. I was a sucker for nu-metal back in the day.

  42. That's a good point, and in fact here in the UK it's now legal to copy music from one format to another, provided it's for personal use, and you own the product (e.g. you've not rented it). Technically you could download a copy provided you already own it on vinyl, regardless of whether the label provide a download code or not. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29448058

  43. I try to use an average from collectorsfrenzy and lop at least 10% off from there for VC members. The site was down today though so I just priced high and was willing to work down from there. Not trying to offend anyone, and I said in the beginning that if you thought prices are high you can PM me. I try to help out VC members (especially those who are really active and have over 1,000 posts with good deals and discounts). No need to try and blast me if you don't even make an offer first. I even dropped the prices down on those now since you helped point out some other information.
