Got some homemade cards and picture frames from the kids. Had a nice BBQ this afternoon with all the family and my sister gave me tickets to see Russell Peters in the fall. Beginner’s Guide to Hi–Fi Created to hopefully aid anyone venturing into this stressful, beautiful hobby. I will update this with more information whenever I have time to waste. Basic Hi-Fi Chain: SOURCE -> AMPLIFICATION -> SPEAKERS (click to jump to section) The source component reads the recorded information and translates it into the signal that will be later perceived as sound. Amplification takes that signal and amplifies it (no, really?) in order to make it strong enough to move the drivers of the speaker. A speaker is a collective of drivers that are moved by the signal, producing air pressure in front of them which to us, mortal beings, means hearing sound. When putting together a hi-fi setup, always keep in mind: The end result will only be as good as the weakest link. Buying an expensive turntable and a good phono preamp is useless if you're using cheap computer speakers. By no means should you decide to just get a shitty turntable then. I never thought that they were super high quality, better than United was back in the 90's but certainly not audiophile quality or anything. I always put the prices down to the fact that they spent a ton on marketing and promotional stuff. If you wrote them for info back in the day they sent out really nice promo packages, all glossy 4 color printing and everything. Good for impressing people who weren't on a punk rock budget for sure.

Such a solid production. The sleeve the book and the LP. They did a great job with this release.

Pretty happy with it. Yellow is cool, jacket and folded insert are nice. Although, for $30+, better inner sleeves would be appreciated. Be sure to use a carbon fiber brush before play to get those papery bits off.

Good point, Dan! This is a photo of the Peanut Butter, Pickle, Bacon Burger at Killer Burger. All their burgers come with bacon though, so I'm not sure why they specify in that one that it has bacon. Yeah I hear you on that. I'm like that as well with TbS, Saves The Day, brand New & The Starting Line.. All of those bands first 2 albums were great and very nostalgic for me as well. One band that I enjoyed throughout the years is New Found Glory, to me they put out amazing stuff all the time except for Not Without A Fight. I couldn't get into it. And for blink, well I just really enjoy them and I love seeing their progression, they really got better over the years (to me at least)
