  1. I also hate it when people are interested in things that personally do not interest me. Like when bands play music I do not like. They are wasting those instrument resources. Those guitars could be used in a band that aligns to my subjective taste! don't even get me started on the recording studio resources that go down the drain. The soundtrack has sold very well every holiday season consistently for the last ten plus years so there are a lot of people who are interested in the tile.

  3. Bear in mind that the screenprinted GOTG poster that this artwork is taken from is selling for $300-400, so the ability to get this for $50 has me quite pleased. I'm more in for the art than the record itself, actually.

  4. So I wanted to touch on some main points I got from the AMA on Reddit earlier: The band address that they were working on a Vinyl Box Set, which will include "Coming Home". No other details are known as of now. Ian said he's praying that the band will do another ISHC EP. It also became address that he wants to record another FTSTYS. I was personally bummed to see no members have spoken to Steve Klein since the departure from the band. I mean, I wouldn't expect them to be as close as they once were, but coming from a fan perspective, it still sucks. While we're on the Steve train, the band seemed to be taking a lot of jabs at Steve on the AMA. Things like them no longer having to worry about egos and not having to worry about all of them ending a song on the same note. As far as the album, first impressions are very good. Standout tracks for me are "Ready and Willing", "The Worst Person", "On My Own". Record sounds like a third part to Catalyst and Not Without a Fight, which is a great! I think they really hit the nail on the head as far as what they wanted to do with this record, which was to come back with a strong record to give their fans a sigh of relief. Way to stay hungry, New Found Glory. Job well done.

  6. Don't even bother dude, there's always the same set of guys who rally against these types of pressings as if they don't live in a capitalist country. If you want the release, just buy it and ignore all the negativity that surrounds these SRC related threads. You'll never win.

  7. Matt, I'm not wanting to start a shouting match or spat with you here, but facts are facts between me sending e-mail after e-mail asking questions and just looking for a general update it has usually taking you a month or in most cases even longer to get back to me. May I also point out that another cause of my frustration was that I could see you were using the VC on usually a daily basis posting in various topics, which as you can imagine had left me feeling ignored, I even tried to PM you on here, but again no response. Can I also point out that I can not believe you have the cheek to call me out in the above post for not answering an e-mail which is only a day old! Yes you e-mailed me the day of this review, I will admit that, regarding sorting out some sort of refund, but even then that was the first e-mail I had received from you since June/July when I received a 1 liner saying you had been ill with flu. Also can I highlight that you have stated to me that you are now selling other items to cover my refund, all you had to do was write me a brief e-mail explaining this and that would of sufficed and probably put my mind at ease for a while longer, but NO the first I knew about this was when I woke up yesterday to find that you were selling "another copy" of the Toe Boxset on Discogs, needless to say I was shocked at this and as far as I was concerned my patience had finally ran out. Surely people can see, including you Matt, why my frustration had finally boiled over and I felt that this review had to be written? Cheers, Phil

  10. From a PR standpoint, it's obvious why the band has had no contact with him. Even admitting they've had contact with him would imply association with all that stuff.

  12. This is spot on. If it were just a 12" x 12" print and a handbill for $50 they'd be selling like hotcakes. You make the print a jacket instead and put a record inside and suddenly people are complaining. It's not like this is some run-of-the-mill record that someone just pressed on colored vinyl and charged double the going rate for. The package as a whole is really cool/rather unique.

  18. That's ridiculous. $50?! for a soundtrack I already have. I want this but I can't afford $50 especially when that can buy Shaun of the Dead next week. It would be a definite buy if it was the full score on a 2LP. I really hope Mondo does not continue to have crazy prices.

  19. All the jackets will be screen printed AND come with handbills. That's gotta drive the cost up a ton on these.

  20. I will have to take a better pic when I get home but I just bought plastic canvas (it's like a giant cross stitch) and wove yarn through all the holes and made it into a box. Excuse the shitty pictures. I took these last year when I just downloaded this weird photo modifying app.

  29. My girlfriend and I moved into a new place last month and I set everything up a few weeks ago after my new turntable came in. Sounds great! Admittedly, I was using a Crosley prior to this. I bought it years ago (2005, 2006?) and it wasn't doing the job. I've been buying records since then, but couldn't sit back and enjoy them much because of the constant skipping and overall bad sound quality.. not to mention the damage it causes after time. After educating myself by reading this board constantly, I ordered the U-Turn Orbit in July. While I was waiting for the U-Turn to be delivered, I had to find a receiver and speakers as well. The Orbit was upgraded a bit to the acrylic platter and Audio-Technica AT95E cartridge. The receiver is an Onkyo A-7022 which was made in Japan in the 70's (not sure which year to be exact) and is an integrated amp. That was purchased on ebay for $60ppd knowing it wasn't going to power on. For the price, I took the risk and took it to a local electronic repair shop. He told me it was just the power supply, so it was repaired and cleaned up for about $100. Lastly, the speakers are Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones speakers. These are the ones that are usually on sale on Amazon or Newegg. I bought the pair for $80 on Newegg, free shipping and they sound great! The shelves are Threshold brand from Target. If anyone is in the market for shelving, I recommend these 100% especially if you don't have an Ikea close to you. I personally was never in one, but I know most people go with their shelves. I initially only bought the center shelf, but picked up the single shelves on each side for the speakers to keep them separate from the turntable. Plus it gave me storage for books and cds which I needed. I found that basket at the bottom at Target, fits 7"s really well. I saw a thread a little while ago about 7" storage and this holds 100+.

  31. Sounds to me like you need to dig out the customs receipt that you got when you shipped and look for the 13 digit code. You should have kept this as iit would be the only way to prove shipping so you surely have this. Then you can just scan that in and sent to Philipp. He can then use his domestic tracking and see where it is. This is regardless of what service you have purchased. Custom number alone is enough. One of you is dodging the issue, only you guys know who. And the one who is better documented is likely the one telling the truth. No need to share anything on here right now, talk amongst yourself. I am pretty sure this comes back here anyway via one of you if it is not resolved...

  39. Give me a good ole fashioned black or white shirt with opposite color printing and I'm good to go. I've been known to get drunk at a show if it's a place I'm familiar with and the drinks are reasonably priced. I'm kind of a curmudgeon though, so unless I'm with friends I sit in the back/balcony if I'm drinking. Otherwise there is the distinct possibility of me getting in a fight with some stupid kid. :/ Inhibitions...alcohol sure dulls them.

  40. I'll be honest (and this is coming from someone who really really likes Sundials), I don't really see the Alk3 connection here. I have a hard time describing Sundials to others for that reason. Fuzzy guitars? Indie? IT'S JUST GOOD GO LISTEN!

  43. The record was cut more quietly at 45 RPM as to get the best sounding record possible. First run was cut at a standard volume and 33 RPM and was quickly rejected due to a ton of distortion. We cut a test lacquer at 45 RPM at a lower volume and it greatly improved the sound quality. This was the obvious, and correct move. TL;DR "Turn your stereo up"

    CONFESSIONS

I know I talked about my DUI in the Off Topic Thread but I didn't want to add this in their too and interupt their fun. This is probably a much more apt place to put this anyways. Since my DUI I've spent the last few days going to some DUI forums where people tell their stories. Reading through that shit I hate myself and all Drunk Drivers even more. Everyone of the stories is a woe is me, I got a DUI that is just such an injustice. People with BAC contents of .2 and higher telling their story about how the police were out to get them. People underage drunk driving complaining about how it's such an injustice, they did use their turn signals so they shouldn't have been pulled over. Fuck it's so infuriating. You drank. You got more than tipsy. You drove. You endangered others because your stupid or selfish. Just as I did the same. I'm a bad person for what I've done, I can admit it. I need to work towards moving past it. I swear their weren't any stories on those sites where the writer took responsability for their actions. Here is what I posted as my DUI story - The Confession of a Drunk Driver In all my life I never thought that I would be that guy. I never thought that I would be the one walking in a straight line at 3 a.m. I never thought this would happen to me. I mean I don't drink often, or typically much. I'll hit up a concert and have a few beers once a month or so. Once in a great while at home I'll have a few drinks. Well, it happened to me. I drove drunk. My night started out with only the best of intentions. I was going to meet a couple of newer friends in Green Bay, which is about a half hour drive from my house. The goal was to go out have a few beers and crash at one of their places. As I said the night started with the best of intentions. A night filled with the best of intentions can turn so quickly into a night of fragmented memories and a morning of shame and regret. As the night got going the beers flowed faster and faster. Once the beers flowed enough the idea of shots somehow sounded like a good idea. From there all was lost. I can't tell you much about it as I can only remember bits and pieces. What I can tell you about that night is that it began with the best of intentions and ended with me being filled with an abundance of crushing guilt. Along with that though, I feel an incredible sense of being the luckiest man alive. I could have hurt someone. I could have killed someone. That is something that I thought that I would never say and it sickens me to have to say that. So after my ordeal has my opinion of drunk drivers changed? No. Absolutely not! Drunk drivers are scum. They selfishly place their own short term fun over the safety of anyone and everyone unlucky enough to be caught in their path. I should edit that thought; we selfishly place our own short term fun over the safety of anyone and everyone in our path, because I am now one of them. What I have learned is that drinking is not for me. I used it to be able to get myself to be more sociable on a rare occaision I wanted to go out. However I lack the ability to adequately gauge how much alcohol can affect my actions. 2 beers might get me to step out of my shell a little bit. 4 might get me a bit loose. 6 turns me into someone I don't recognize, into someone I have always hated. So that's my story. That is how I woke up one day able to look myself in the mirror and know that I'm a (moderately) good person, only to wake up the next day seeing a stranger looking back at me in the mirror. Not expecting anyone to take this as a lesson, I just wanted to put it out there.
