  1. 500 posts minimum I think. 500 is a good base on a site like this.

  2. I hope you don't plan to clog up the boards with a new thread every time you decide to make a Youtube video about a record you got. Nobody comes here looking for that.

  5. What do we want? 30 post minimum to start a new thread. When do we want it? Now!

  6. It's okay, getting your ass kicked for making new threads is noob initiation around these parts. Same happened to me

  7. Almost everything about the production could be better. Nearly the entire thing is brickwalled, just barely below the point of clipping.

  8. Yeah they should stick with unknowns like Alec Guiness and Ewan McGregor.

  9. I struggled with this thought earlier. I think he thinks he is doing a PSA for the betterment of the vinyl society. Some of us feel it is self absorbed and merely "Discogs on tape". Crossed wires.

  10. That's the spirit. The darkness surely grows within you. Soon, in a year or so, you'll be me and the next guy who pops in the forum like HEY GUYZ LOOK AT MY VIDEO I LUV VINYL, you'll be grilling him with the rest of us. If you're gonna continue posting, I highly suggest you lurk, and read the rules. Creating duplicates of threads is frowned upon, as is antagonizing other posters for no real good reason. Take these criticisms with grace and acknowledge your rashness, and everything can be cool. Posting your own thread for yourself where you post videos, while not universally appreciated, would be more appropriate than more of these threads because you'd be keeping it in one spot. That is common sense. And despite you just wanting to post in a chill place where everyone just loves music and appreciates records, maaan, the fact is you made a thread focused on yourself. Don't be the next Zay Zay. EDIT: Also, boy, for someone not being a big fan of Reddit's voting system, you sure love throwin' those downvotes at every post I make like it means something.

  12. That's pretty much VC in a nutshell. Here's a bit of advice for you, If you're going to post a video review of records you purchase, cool, just start your own thread and bump that each time. Expect to be slammed by members often. If you review Thrice, Blink, Brand New, or any others bands of the like, expect shit storms, like Mark Wahlberg in The Perfect Storm type shit storms. In your threads, don't fight back, even the people defending whatever you're doing will turn on you, especially in a Blink, Thrice, or Brand New thread. Other than that this place is full of great info once you learn how to navigate your way around. Welcome, enjoy!

  14. There we go. Except I don't have 2 coloring books or the mov pressings (yet). But I do have a single LP EYEWTKAS and the 2xLP and my 7"s are signed.

  15. Agreed that a 'Major Label' group is too general. Whilst MoV releases belong in the Usually Very Good group, I have found their customer service when problems do occur to be very poor. That said problems don't occur that often. Example: Faith No More - Angel Dust This had a tiny 'wobble' (good description when you hear it) in one track. Replacements were pressed. They did not send them out to stores; they didn't even tell stores that there was a problem (certainly not in the UK). When you got in touch with them to try and get replacements, they wouldn't pay your shipping (first rule of good customer service - when you make a mistake, you pay for it) to send the item to them and the general demeanour of their communication was dismissive and arrogant. When their Rage Against The Machine - Self Titled colour press turned out to be faulty, buyers were lucky that it was exclusive to one seller as that meant they had a point of complaint that was not MoV. A repress on another colour was forthcoming. I think Plain should have their own group 'Complete Pot Luck'.

  16. Numero is awesome. Affordable and great packaging. I personally do not like MOV at all. They sound good but I'm not a fan of their packaging / price.

  17. Lta and numero do great stuff Rhino can have its screw ups Mov are usually clean pressings but again fall into the question of source material like plain. Unsure how you group in major labels as that is all over the place

  18. Plain and 4mwb are plagued with general it sucks because Kevin shields claimed loveless was cd sourced after being pissed he didn't release it (and still hasnt) Overall I have several albums by both labels and generally not an issue with quality but my ears can deceive me

  19. I don't know if it's fair to have Back on Black in the "usually very poor" category. I know that their earlier releases are notoriously bad, but most of the more recent BoB reissues I own are somewhere between good and great. Seems like they sorta turned their act around starting in 2008 or so - although I'm sure not everything they put out is gold On the other hand, I agree 100% with Rhino in the "usually very good" category, their Black Sabbath reissues in particular are amazing

    I Hate The Beatles

Why expend more energy rambling about something you hate rather than something you want to share and be excited about in a positive way? Maybe I'm missing the point. I appreciate the music The Beatles have put out, but by no means do I listen to them even somewhat regularly, or really consider myself a fan. They did know how to make a catchy tune, and dammit if they didn't rinse and repeat that strategy tenfold.

    I Hate The Beatles

It's just as tired out/overdone to denounce The Beatles as it is to praise them these days. This doesn't warrant a thread.

  40. i just wish people would give sincere compliments more often. honestly, it almost feels better when somebody comes up to me and tells me they really dig one of the releases i put out than just seeing $5 pop up in my paypal account. i've made a conscious effort this past year to go out of my way to tell people that i appreciate something they did. whether it was them playing a great show, writing a cool song, buying me a drink, or just being a pal. sincerity goes a long way, and not too many people realize that anymore.

  41. So.... Santa went well above and beyond anything I was expecting!!! I friggin LOVE everything I got! I'm gonna do this in spoilers that way I don't take up a whole page showing you guys what I got, because it is awesome and deserves some special treatment. Seriously I am beyond ecstatic about everything I got! SS nailed it for me with this package. Also, I must say the packing job was phenomenal. I'm definitely keeping it just in case I ever have to ship some bombers. Very well done! As far as who my SS is, there weren't any hints, and having the package ship from Colorado threw me off since most of the items in the package were from Cali, but I think I figured it out thanks to this post: So THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU THANK-YOU Toki!!!! You did a fantastic job and I adore everything!!!

  45. So my girlfriend and I took a video of me opening my gifts 2 nights ago at her house: My secret santa accidentally put his name in the return address. So knowing what state they are from and their taste in music I'm thinking it is perhaps... Rezqua??? Anyway whoever it is thanks so much! I'm excited to dive into a new band and all day today I've been obsessed with that Closure in Moscow song!
