Plus the "green" EP cover, with the cover photos superimposed over each other, looked nifty compared to the two seperate covers. If someone knows where to get a green set for a decent price, please let us know.1 point

Re: Etchings; I think its just a way that labels try to beautify a side that would otherwise be blank when the music won't fit on 2 sides but doesn't need more than 3. As far as NPR is concerned, I feel they have in general an acceptably humane leaning with less bias than any other news source I've received. It may have been a reach to mention the Burzum thing but I don't find any problem in it. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to remind the audience where someone stands especially if its important enough to the artist to make it clear the first time. Maybe it was the writer's dilemma to use real examples of their featured artist's history to make the genre association clear but also to retain the political separation between the artist being discussed and one of the examples of said artists' source of genre influence. And not to stir shit, but I always feel a bit uneasy when people express an intimidation to what they call Social Justice Warriors. I can agree that there is a level of political correctness that goes too far technically and only serves to hinder a supposed SJW's ability to properly identify and keep tabs on its antagonists but if the way in which someone insults another is by referring to them as a SOCIAL JUSTICE warrior, what is it about social justice that makes that person uneasy? It just seems like its goes against a basic level of decency in humanity to have such an issue with social justice, whether its propagated by so-called "warriors" of that cause or not. I guess I'm saying it doesn't bode well to put such a negative slant on such a phrase.1 point -
Pg.99's Document 8 12" Reissue is now available for order!

Pg.99's Document 8 12" repress is available for order now! Order the Pg.99 Re-issue here! Over the course of their mere five-year existence, Sterling, Virginia’s Pageninetynine redefined what punk rock could be. This venerable squad of miscreants from the outskirts of the nation’s capital incorporated aspects of nearly every heavy music sub- genre into a tornado of punk fury, releasing a plethora of albums, singles, splits and more, touring relentlessly and inspiring a dedicated, diehard fanbase. Robotic Empire is pleased to announce a timely re-press of the band’s landmark Document #8 album for availability during their September reunion shows! Each show will benefit a local grassroots organization on the frontlines fighting for civil rights, LGBT rights, youth rights, immigrant and refugee rights, and reproductive rights and justice. Through these shows, they aim to share a broader love for community in general. Beneficiary organizations will be tabling and speaking at events, and members of the band are available for comment about why they are choosing to organize a series of DIY punk shows as a site of resistance. Not only do the bands want showgoers to attend – they hope people will walk away from these events with a sense of how they can participate in building communities where people stand up for others through decisive action. The shows are as follows: Sept. 21 – Broadberry, Richmond, VA to benefit Richmond Reproductive Freedom Project Sept. 22 – St. Stephen’s, Washington, DC to benefit Casa Ruby Sept. 23 – Baltimore, MD to benefit 901 Arts Sept. 24 – First Unitarian Church, Philadelphia, PA to benefit Juntos Sept. 25 – St. Vitus, New York City, NY to benefit New Sanctuary Movement NYC Sept. 26 – Goldsounds, New York City, NY to benefit New York Legal Assistance Group Sept. 27 – Great Scott, Boston, MA to benefit the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Action Coalition Strictly limited to 500 copies, this newly repressed version of Document 8 comes on purple colored vinyl encased in purple silk screened jackets complements of Broken Press in Seattle, WA. An 11x11, black and white booklet is also included. Label copies will be arriving this week and orders will ship ASAP. It's fun to see that depending on the light, the vinyl can have various shades of purple or pink! You can pick up your copy here: Order the Document 8 Re-issue here! I'm sure everyone read the announcement about the September 8th release we just had, but just for the heck of it, info on that spectacular album is listed again below for your consideration. Remember that any orders for the Pyrit - UFO 12" come with a FREE Robotic Empire - Hawks T-shirt so be sure to list your shirt size in the notes when placing those orders! Cinematic, profound and absorbing. PYRIT is the solo project of Swiss German Thomas Kuratli. This first album is the musical expression of an original literary project: the story of a journey into the body – dissolving to universe and transforming into an extraterrestrial machine. Recorded in a parking lot , this album is full of ideas and vivid emotions while definitely pushing the limits of the oneman band. After moving from Zurich to Paris, Thomas started to work at his debut album UFO, originally drawn from Pyrit’s love of electronic, psychedelic and kraut he creates soundscapes of a deserted concrete- world, destruction and loneliness. Sometimes there is a glimpse of hope, sometimes there is not. Pyrit’s music is simultaneously loud and fragile, complex and simple, and always evolving. Navigating between electronic psyche, gaunt blues and the soundtrack of a weightless film, Thomas exposes himself by donning the costume of a disenchanted crooner in search of the ultimate slow. Appealing to fans of Low, David Lynch, Portishead and Kanye West' Yeezus, this is an album you will certainly want to check out. A video for the powerful song, Dirt On the Ground, is up on youtube here - Dirt On The Ground Video and a full album visual stream with lyrics is available here: Full Album Stream Originally pressed by Bookmaker Records in France, the limited pressing quickly sold out. Now repressed as a split collaboration between Robotic Empire in the US and Bookmaker in France (international customers please order from Bookmaker), with freshly remastered audio specific to the more widespread vinyl release and upgraded packaging with 180 gram black vinyl and a high quality digital download included. USA Customers Order Pyrit Here and get your FREE Robotic Empire Hawks T-shirt with purchase. (remember to let us know your shirt size in the notes of your order) Some more upcoming releases in the works: The Black Heart Procession 12" is currently in production and has a scheduled release date for late November. The band will be also be going on tour that month! Seems we may have some Daughters cassettes in the works and yes, that Jesu - Ascension is still on our radar. That's all for now, thanks for the support, it's always deeply appreciated! Robotic Empire Online Store1 point -

Yeah I remember you saying that. Apparently the band wanted to press it to vinyl, but their computer crashed and they lost all of the files. I shot them a quick message, because I was curious about the 10th anniversary advertisements on their page. They said that they recorded the album over because they weren't happy with the sound, and that the new version is more accurate to how they play them live. In fact, they said that the 2nd version features the band playing live in the studio, with just vocal overdubs. So, it seems that it was a combination of factors that lead to them simply doing it all over. I prefer the original because it has a more raw, underground sound that offers a really cool counterpoint to the ethereal music they make. The new version is still good, but a little bit too over-produced and too clean in my opinion. In other news, a new (old) Au Revoir track!!! This is also pretty damn good! https://aurevoirit.bandcamp.com/track/sundowning1 point -

Thanks for the options @rrd. I'm currently trying to finish my list on Record Nerd but it is quite cumbersome. I'm not sure what some of the Discogs lovers don't understand in this thread (and don't get me wrong I love Discogs and am a regular contributor). DeadFormat offered some nice features in a list form that is not cluttered like Discogs. Don't kid yourself Discogs can look cluttered to the untrained eye. -DeadFormat allowed you to make a nice --- customizable --- list that was easy to maintain and add new sections and additions on the fly. -I could go into my "12" Albums and EPs" section and push "Add New" and just type in 20 records in detail and hit submit and DeadFormat would put it all in alphabetical order immediately. So basically you can add 20 new things to that list as fast as you could type and at a push of a button it appears on your list in order. -Not only could you make your own unique titled sections but when you had a list of sections you could move each section to any order you'd like. -You could also have individual pictures on each item you had (not a general image used on Discogs) to show the condition of the actual item you own. In short, DeadFormat was a way to have items on a list that were divided up any way you could want and have ease of use included. With your own pictures of the items all in a simple list form.1 point
