message to dudes getting uptight about inner sleeve seam splits: vinyl is not for everyone. having said that, white paper inner sleeves costs less than a penny each when purchased in bulk. if i had a record label and was producing beautiful albums with artworked inner sleeves, i would ship the actual vinyl record in a white paper sleeve, so no damage could potentially happen to the inner sleeve during shipping. next, i will solve any political problem anyone would care to throw at me.

Fuck it my expectations are so low at this point. Their sound has not evolved beyond Lateralus and waiting 10 years between albums certainly doesn't help. If/when it comes out and it's great, fantastic I will enjoy listening to it. But I feel they'd put out a much more enjoyable album (to my ears) if they didn't spend so much goddamn time on it.

I just got an email that made it sound like In Absentia is shipping next week as well. I thought that was coming in March.

This mini-saga has finally come to a close. I received the record today. Was the payoff worth the hassle? Maybe, but probably not. I'm almost mad at the record?? I'm just glad we were all, more or less, there for each other through this enigma. I wish all of you the best in your endeavors.

Quincetuple was the song that got me into them, still one of my favs. Too bad they probably won’t be able to put the “Abortions for all” version on. Hopefully this leads to more shows.

Yeah, I loved the hidden tracks back in the day, but that remains one of my faves. Quicentuple has always been a favorite of mine (I think it's everyone's at some point). It means more now that I'm older. I would love for this to be "Cocktails and Dreams part 2," though. "The Fatpitaph Years." Or even better: Just TLA covering Alkaline Trio c.2005, live. And mostly drunk.

This is my cat, ISIS (named after the band, of course). She had to have her left eye removed shortly after we found her when she was only a few months old. She's the sweetest cat!

Anyone who is on the fence about this who is not going to starve, miss medical bill payments or get anything repossessed by splurging $85 (plus shipping) on this thing should just do it. The material alone is a major feat of conceptual songwriting and even though I'm not in love with every song on the whole set, there are more than enough amazing songs and the presentation of the colored vinyl in relation to the EP's color concept is just awesome. Yes, I know I'm Mr. Black Vinyl but the exception to that, if there could only be one, is when some crazy motherfucker writes 4 song EP's called The Color Spectrum and puts them on 9 corresponding colored vinyl 10" records. This set is classic. When this was first released I really expected it to be over $100 before shipping. The price is pretty fair and if you ever do get into financial trouble and need to sell this thing that you didn't need that bad, you can get at least your money back on the aftermarket provided you don't shit all over the set or let an unruly toddler/cat/puppy have its way with it.

If these guidelines were enforced there would be three members left.
