    WTB: Face to Face

Yeah I won that auction and no that's not my discogs, mine is here: http://www.discogs.com/seller/ny_hi So psyched to finally own big choice and so weird that this is the same thread I started forever ago when I was originally looking for it.

  4. Yep, I made these (although mine are much better, IMO - more like bowls) for all my relative last Christmas. Just found artists they all like in the local dollar bin. Just put 'em in the oven at 250 on top of a turned over bowl, after a bit, throw a slightly larger bowl on top, also upside down, so it melts to a bowl shape, and take it out to cool. Big hit for not a lot of money.

  7. I'm starting to worry about my vinyl obsession. Seems that almost everyone who collects vinyl runs in to like 12 troubles at once including vet bills, foreclosure, bankruptcy, death, hospitalization, phantom limb syndrome, astronomical rent issues, cardboard shortages, car/bike breakdowns/accidents. It's hard out there for a VCer.

  8. That explains the insane wait for the records to be shipped. Standard SRC procedure. His collection is probably on a 3-5 day (8 week) backorder.

  10. this is fucking awful, and even though nobody here any ties to the people involved in this, i still find it tasteless to joke about it....seeing as a 6 year old kid is traumatized for the rest of their life after watching both of their parents die in a very gruesome, fucked up way. but to each their own i guess. RIP to those people, and i feel awfully sorry for the rest of that kids life. really sad and shows just how vulnerable life is. and how powerful stupidity and shock are.

  11. My wife talks in her sleep and I've been recording the things she says for a while now. I started posting the stuff she says online, so have a look if you are interested. There's some pretty hilarious and random stuff in there. http://halfasleepwife.tumblr.com https://twitter.com/Halfasleepwife https://www.facebook.com/HalfAsleepWife

  19. Not trying to be a dick, but bumping the thread multiple times on the same page saying the same thing like that isn't gonna get anything done faster. Outside of Juan I have no idea who posters are in real life / or in email. I will get around to responding, and if it takes so long you think I've forgotten or overlooked it, just email me again. That way I can at least respond via email and know who I am talking to / what records you want to buy.

Watched Stoker the other night, incredibly beautifully shot movie by the god that is Chan-wook Park who is responsible for possibly my favorite tale of vengeance I've ever personally experienced. If you haven't seen Old Boy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance or Lady Vengeance you should really check them out, especially if you have ever liked anything Tartan Asian Extreme has ever put their hands on. But seriously, at least check out Old Boy... It'll blow your mind in a strange way... Also re-watched Martyrs and it still remains to be one of my favorite horror/gorror movies of all time. Watched a few other these past few weeks but nothing worth a shit. But I did see This Is the End and I loved every minute of its utter ridiculousness...

  23. Got this email from him: Don't give up on me yet cousin. I just got out of hospital this morning for nervous breakdown. All orders will be shipped by this Friday at latest. VC is still fucking with me but if you could please post in my three and assure them its all going out in next few days I will try again to post when I get home tonight. I got you man. I've never ripped off a person and damn sure ain't starting now Nick Moskal Also email at [email protected] you can give that to VC too. Heard I'm being accused and if I were any of you I'd think the same. All I have is my track record and my word(and balls but doesn't really work here). Everyone who was decent enough to pay me is getting what's owed. I assure

  27. For the record, I saw alot of vinyl on sale at the stop today. Off the top of my head: -The Early November had copies of "In Currents" and what I think may have been Ace Ender's new solo project? He was talking about it at an acoustic performance, but I didn't get a good look. -The Swellers had their EP "Running Out Of Places To Go". -Big D and the Kids Table had some copies of "Strictly Mixed And Mashed", "Strictly Dub" and "From Beijing to Boston". -MC Lars had his "Greatest Hits" album. -Reel Big Fish had "Candy Coated Furry", "Fame, Fortune, and Fornication", and the 7" split they did back in the day with The Cherry Poppin' Daddies "Reel Big Fish & The Cherry Poppin' Daddies Are...Vacationing In Palm Springs". Those are the ones I noticed. I picked up the two Reel Big Fish LP's since I had neither. Both had a slight amount of warping but they played fine. I waited until their signing at 4pm to pick them up so I didn't have them in my bag all day. Hope this helps out a bit. I saw alot of other bands and people with records, but these were the main bands I checked, ha!

  32. My take on the new Relient K album, Collapsible Lung: There’s nothing wrong with a band wanting to make a pop album, none what so ever. When I heard CL was going to be more of a pop album I was excited… I mean Matt is a king of pop! Sure you could look at the music and say it sounds overproduced, but that’s not really a big deal. If you’re making a pop album that naturally comes with the territory. To me the problem with this album are the lyrics, something I never thought would be an issue with Matt. There’s almost no substance to anything, and sound like they’d fit in any horrible Top 40 song! If you’re going to do a pop album, do it with some integrity! Look at fun.’s Some Nights or Tegan and Sara’s Heartthrob… they’re albums that have fun pop music but lyrically run deep. …I’m not giving up on CL, but I am disappointed and can see why Ethan is gone and the Jo(h)ns want nothing to do with this mess.

  34. Was thumbing through the posts to get to the end to post the exact same thing. As soon as I saw there was going to be a repress and it was going to be a 2xLP I sold my gold copy. I guess I assumed that a repress of a highly sought after album would be treated with a modicum of care.. After all, they did go to the trouble to put it on 2 discs.. While I realize that decision is on me- as a consumer I don't feel like its that outlandish to expect a decent product. I hate how any blowback from this is seen as "HT bashing" or "Travis bashing.." HT is not a label and Travis just orders the records.. I realize this. I am just disappointed that somewhere along the way someone didn't take the time to listen to the test pressings all the way through and say, "hm, something is wrong with this, lets fix it before releasing 2000 of them and then 2000 more a few months later." I realize this would cost money and time, but it seems to me that Universal has a few dollars laying around that they could have spent on at least making this right for the second pressing. Despite your stance on this release you cannot argue that the sound quality is unprofessionally bad on at least the last song on every side.

  35. Well obviously there has to be some accounting for the fact that Marino is finished and Brady isn't. Give Brady 4 more years of reasonable production (so he plays 17 seasons like Marino) and his numbers are right there with him. Brady's completion percentage is higher, his TDs per game are higher, his picks per game are lower, qb rating is almost 10 higher, and his yards per game are off by a hair. Then there are the rings. There's no dude that has it all (yet). Marino has the big stats, Montana has the championships, Manning falls into the discussion somewhere. There might be another guy or two you could make a case for that isn't coming to mind at the moment. But the fact that I can even make the case above (whether you agree with it or not) proves that he is in the discussion. It's not like there is one QB in football that has everything (elite stats and championships) in the way someone like MJ or Gretsky does.

  36. I used to give drivers exams at the dmv, and i had this Chinese couple who just could not pass the drivers test, the first few times i took the lady out is honestly the only time i thought i was gonna die on a road test. It was so bad i threatened to quit on the spot. Did end up with a week off for "trauma", so it wasnt a total loss.

  43. I don't have any Weezer on vinyl (except a couple 7-inches). I used to have the Red album but I sold it because I almost never listened to it. No way I'm spending $30 for Make Believe in any format. Still regretting the $10 I spent on the CD. I would rather have the original Green Album on colored vinyl if I can find it for a decent price. Blue album and Pinkerton are the only MoFi pressings I might get, and the only two Weezer albums I would consider an essential part of my vinyl collection.

  44. I concur…Sleeve City's 5.0, to me, are the Cadillac of outer sleeves. Plus they're alot clearer than others so the vividness of album covers and spines really pops when displayed. Been slowly resleeving the entire collection over the past two years. Rich
