Cool to see everyone's getting their records, I spent the last two days I had before tour packaging 350+ orders and am feeling like a superhero about it. Sorry that some people are upset with the vinyl being packaged outside of the jackets / between the sleeves and the innersleeves, I only started doing that because so many older shipments got damaged previous with records included inside, I'll definitely listen to anyone's ideas or recommendations about doing this in a different / better way (only if you're nice though ) Gonna be getting back into the saddles with everything as soon as the holidays are over, all the final details for the 2x12" Swung from The Branches reissue have been finalized and it's gonna look fucking awesome. Tour is pretty insane and physically / mentally demanding at this particular instance so I'm sorry I haven't posted updates here in a bit or been quick with emails. I'm having fun and feel really happy right now and it is great. Thanks for the support, everyone.

  2. Holy shit, are they tracking and hyping transition color copies of their records? That's some serious "the hobby" level bull right there.

  8. Is that something that you can sell? I doubt anyone would be willing to pay the $750 it originally cost. Also, that was over 2 years ago, why didn't you ever claim it? That's a lot of money to never do it.

  10. As some of you already know, I've been working on an album for awhile now. After a lot of busy months spent balancing my last semester in college, a move to D.C., and a record, it's finally finished. If you're into sad bastard songs, played by tall awkward guys, go have a listen. As much as I'd love to press this bad boy on wax, it's not too cost effective at the moment; therefore, I'll take advantage of the internet. All eight songs are posted at http://ronnieglennwilliams.bandcamp.com

  11. And here we go again.. Americans crying about "high" shipping. For us it would be like 45. Seriously 13, wish it was for 1 record for me not 5. stop bitching and be grateful for not have to pay about 50% of all costs on shipping. Its not against you personally, just the idea.

  12. The others are just a bit too niche. The first one is just a Christmas album and this one is P&W. PCH is more of a folk/country/blues blend and it's just solid. My sky blue copy has a couple of forward skips on it, but if you want it, PM me and I'll send it to you if you just cover shipping. It's definitely listenable; thankfully there are no broken loops. Just hops forward one groove in two spots.

  20. Good to hear you're doing better, Warren. Super excited for all of the new stuff. The best way to ship a record to avoid any cosmetic damage and any real damage to the LP is to invest in some outersleeves, keep the LP in the inner sleeves, then put everything in the outersleeve. The mailers are super awesome too. Keep up the good work.

  22. The simple answer is yes it's cack but the longer answer is: Well it's not a Crosley and there are worse but the letters USB usually sound a big alarm bell. with these things the design is usually poor as is the quality control which can mean your lucky and have a good one or unlucky and have a complete record wrecking pile of poo and you won't really know until you try and play your records on a proper turntable. On the plus side it's got an alloy platter, a metal arm tube and what looks like a standard AT magnetic cartridge copy but on the downside the arm looks to be pretty poor quality, it looks like you can't adjust much if anything on the arm and you can't put a different cart in it, it quotes 2.5 to 3.5g tracking force which seems high as I would expect more like 1.5 to 2.5g so either it's not an AT or it needs to be that high to try and track properly. For the little you are using it I wouldn't worry too much but if it does concern you get a tracking force gauge and an alignment gauge or even a hifi setup/test record and see how far out the thing is. Also obviously think about replacing it with something a little better if it is worrying you. The biggest concern with these things and the reasons people worry about premature wear with them are all to do with the way the arm tracks, be that too light or too heavy causing premature wear or that the bearings are so poor that the stylus is pulled hard up against one of the groove walls wearing it's own groove as it goes and getting progressively worse as it moves into the centre of the record. All the rules that apply to any turntable apply to that one so the means to check it are all out there and quite a lot if it is free like alignment gauges and understanding what you are looking at when it is running.

  25. It is! It's a reproduction (that's hand silk screened!! So it's a nice and worthy repro) of Jeremy Klein's 1991 "Dream Girl" graphic on World Industries. He owns Hook-Ups so he remade a bunch of these. I usually don't like Hook-Ups' stuff because of how misogynistic the majority of it is, it is but I've always loved this board.

    MLB Discussion

It just amazes me how Braves fans continue to remember Heyward like some kind of mythical super player just as they did before he got called up. Except he hasn't ever been that guy. Great defender but overall he was only contributing to the Braves real issues on offense.

  41. No, we do not get paid to admin or mod these boards. We're not on SRC's payroll even if you subscribe to any conspiracy theories. What may seem as us defending SRC is actually our reaction to just being sick and tired of the incessant bitching and moaning that permeates these boards and threads when it comes to anything having to do with SRC. The level of constant negativity and inflated sense of entitlement from some people is just tiresome. I understand the frustration of not getting responses or fucked-up orders from SRC. But to air out the grievances publicly as such on here is already a repetitive and annoying effort that just spreads the negativity. Got issues with SRC? Then contact them directly non-stop and stop shit-smearing it for the rest of us here on the boards. The boards aren't Yelp! for you to complain about your shitty restaurant meal.
