    Blowout vinyl at GoHastings

Who cares, there are plenty of people who bought these solely because they were cheap and don't give a shit about the bands. I haven't seen that much grateful dead or velvet underground talk on this board all year

  2. Prediction: All records will be delayed til 2017 due to vinyl plant backups.

  5. Yes! There was 1 copy on discogs of hot damn for $68 shipped. I offered $49 shipped the other day but never heard back so I just messaged them asking if they got my offer and then I got an invoice. Redemption!

    Mixtape Trade Thread

List: So far we have: - Shitty Rambo - andy. - Santa Bateman - Rock Puppetz - Zeb_Enjoys_Vinyl Mixtapes - dkrtz - thefavoriteplay(?) - erikness - Fowty Dollaz - nostalgicbummer - backdrifter Just comment or PM me when you are partnered up and I'll strike out your name. Once one "transaction" is over, if you want to sign up for a different partner, I'll remove the strikethrough. Let's keep it civil and fun! Of course you can work out the details how ever you see fit, but if I trade with someone I see no reason we can't each cover the cost of shipping our mixtape (it should be the same each way). OP: I don't know if this is allowed or not, but andy. had a great idea and think it could be fun. If not then mods feel free to delete. We could trade mixtapes based on tastes wanted. For instance I like punk, folk, "indie rock," unique hip hop/ rap, and some metal. So, I could request a punk mixtape in exchange for your requests. Most of us have our collections available to develop ideas. This could be sender funded, requestor funded, or whatever is worked out between users. Hopefully individual transactions could be communicated via PMs and have wants/ requests posted here. I know it's KIND OF a sell-based idea, but hopefully the trade aspect keeps it friendly. Mixtapes were big when I was a kid, but this could be a fun thing amongst users. A little more old school than sending a link to bandcamp.

  27. Picked this up during Amoeba's 20% off online sale and it just came in today. Packaging is gorgeous (as it should be for it's normal retail price). Comes with 7(?) LP sized magna cards with art on each side presumabley drawn by Grimes. Gatefold sleeve is textured, glossy and pretty. Oh and the LP itself sounds excellent. If only Realti came on the vinyl version...

  35. When I approached Travis about doing a HT exclusive Aquabats vinyl splatter series, he turned his laptop screen toward me and said "To prove you aren't a VC cop, sell one of the test presses for $100+ on eBay without telling the band." I refused. So, Travis snapped his fingers and his muscle emerged from the shadows and dragged me out. It was a harrowing experience.

  36. Since insane people are still defending ross's actions, there are only a few possibilities of what happened here. (1) Ross secured the rights to the record with the band/label. Contracts were signed. Production starts. Ross receives tests. Band/label says "sorry, if it's okay, we'd like you to not press the record. Please find it out of the goodness of your heart to forfeit the money you've spent. Go ahead and sell the test pressings secretly through message boards or to people you know for a lot of money but don't tell anyone about it. We want you to look like you're doing something illegal." You can figure out the rest. (2) Ross starts the process before securing the rights. Ross didn't get the rights. Ross sells test presses. (maybe ross just really wanted one copy of the record, so he pressed 5 without rights to sell the other 4). (3) Ross is in negotiation for rights with the band/label. Ross is sure everything will work out, so he jumps the gun and gets tests ordered. Band/label doesn't sign contract, calls it off. Ross feels dumb for spending the money without having contracts but realizes he has 5 test presses to sell on the black market. (4) Ross secured the rights. Started the process but then the singer died. Decided to wait a bit to release it. But hey, might as well make some cash in the meantime. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it wasn't #1.

  37. Ben is right. We don't know where the money went. It could have been used for Sandy relief or to bring clean water to an impoverished tribe. We may never know, as money-raising auctions for charity are normally kept a secret to avoid attention and awareness.

  39. I want Ross to release a 7" that comes with a kids small Doig shirt that transforms me back into a 7 year old when worn. I want to run in the yard and drink Capri Suns and throw my Last Action Hero red convertible off the porch ledge and send Last Action Hero Arnold and T2 Arnold flying into the bushes. I want my mother to love me again.
