  1. Fuck you 2016... Just fuck right off

  2. Welp. I've given it the entire extended holiday weekend, and now that we're back into the normal swing of things... I still have no idea what you're trying to convey with this post.

  3. I e-mailed the address boops_popmarket provided with a simple inquiry about my order, and was told to "fuck off lol", and - additionally - was told that my "dolla dolla billz" were "gone 4 gud". This is extremely poor customer service and I'm honestly quite shocked; I'll be refraining from ordering from Pop Market again, after that kind of harassment. Eager to see which of the five Swift gifs the thread will be locked with. I've got a good idea but don't want to jinx it.

RIP. everyone will naturally think star wars when they think of her (as do i) but i also think of her in one of my all time favorite movies - the burbs.

  7. I can sort of understand his frustration though, seeing how the 50 Spin-cleans from that Amazon seller he ordered in time for Christmas did not show up either..

  8. They've yet to update the product listing and it makes zero reference to the existence of a black variant. Seems like pretty poor customer service.

  10. A front end manager was just like "Hey, I see you've got New Years Eve off. You should switch with someone so you can work that day instead" Told my immediate superior (the only manager I'll actually listen to) and he said "...did you tell him to go fuck himself? Because he should go fuck himself. Enjoy your day off, dude."

  11. The family-incest angle is both very sophisticated and edgy, I've got to say. When I see that dished out in an argument, I tend to step down immediately since there's a good chance we're barking up the tree of a certifiable badass.

  12. AHH!!! Before diving into these amazing gifts, the first thing I need to say is thank you so, so, so much Santa! You did an absolutely fantastic job, and I was grinning ear to ear (and still am)! Okay, on to the unwrapping! Earlier this week I was greeted with these two big packages! To deter myself from opening them immediately, I took the liberty of wrapping them up with some shiny paper so that I could tear it off like a mad woman on Christmas morning (not sure if that makes me crazy in itself?) Opening the first package, I'm surprised with puffy pink S's and a hint of purple paper! Surprisingly, they were not some space-age delicious candy, but instead used for packing (unfortunate, but ultimately, my belly is relieved, and my presents are happier)! I dug around in both boxes to find some notes to hint at whoever was the sweetest person ever, and came up with the TINIEST CARD IN THE WORLD. It was heartwarming and made me squeal. Tiny things make me happy, and this card was no exception. I also received a package from Amazon - which you'll see in a few artfully crafted photos - but just gotta say, you, Santa, nailed it. A COOKBOOK? No, wait. A VEGAN COOKBOOK WITH A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT WOULD MAKE MY MOTHER BLUSH?! Appropriately, fuck yes! Thug Kitchen has been a favorite of mine for years, and while I did already own this book, now I can have a copy for my place and also for my dude's, in an ill-fated attempt to make him eat somewhat healthier. Mwahahahaha. Also, as you can see, I got MORE TINY THINGS. The cutest sugar skull bead! An assumably-native Arizona magnet! And something that sounds delicious and makes me want to tear into it right now but I don't think making my entire Christmas diet candy would make me the happiest of campers. All of this is the coolest and I love it! And finally...I got not one, but TWO RECORDS. They are: Portugal. The Man | Censored Colors (possibly my favorite from them!) Lil BUB | Science & Magic : A Soundtrack to the Universe (I received Lil BUB gifts from literally everyone this year, and this was my favorite. I got to see her band last year and it was the weirdest and most unexpectedly wonderful experience ever. This record has been a desire of mine since! And it came with a poster!!!) I know my Secret Santa couldn't have known this, but I received new speakers last night that blow my last set-up out of the water, and being able to break them in with these two spectacular relics of musical joy is one of the coolest gifts I'll probably ever get. Now, on to the guessing. With my great sleuthing abilities, the touch of Southwest flair, and being an absolute sweetheart, I'm taking a crack that it was @backpackoat in Arizona with the Spirit of Christmas! I can't say this enough, but thank you for everything - you're the best p.s. My nephew was Santa's little helper (not the dog), and he's still deciding if he enjoys Lil BUB's tunes as much as I do

  13. There was a little buzz around their latest album and some murmurings in the Post Rock/Metal thread in everything else so I figured this could use a thread. We're very pleased to announce that we will be working with Bossk on the reissue of the long out of print 1 & 2. Remastered by Magnus Lindburg for extra sonic abuse, this is not to be missed. Here's a statement from the band: “Releasing Audio Noir has been our ultimate focus since we reformed 4 years ago. We're all extremely proud of the record and the response has been overwhelming at the shows this past year. Our previous recordings however, some over 10 years old now, are ultimately the reason this band still exists today. Creating & recording both .1 & .2 was very new and exciting for us. Essentially trying stuff with music we'd not in previous bands without any experience of playing shows outside the local area, or releasing anything. They're important to us and represent some of the most fun we've had as a band. There has been high demand for the first record to be repressed for sometime and it feels right now that they be made available again. The original press of this was our first vinyl release, released by Garden Of Exile Records and was a huge milestone for us at the time. A huge thanks to Magnus for breathing new life into these songs We have always been friends with the people at Holy Roar and what they have done for the underground UK music scene over the years is something that we have always supported, so for them to be releasing this feels right. - Alex, Sam, Tom, Nick & Rob (Bossk)” Shipping on or around 24th February 2017. 20. To be fair, I don't think its wrong to say you think a pressing sounds like shit or sounds amazing. Its when you bring the analytics into it that it gets tedious.

  24. So I attempted to wait for the second package, but it hasn't arrived yet. I went ahead and opened what was labeled Package 1/2. This alone would be enough to make me happy! My Santa got me the Deathly Hallows Part 1 Soundtrack AND Pinkerton! Unfortunately, all I have to go on as to WHO my Santa is is their location. However, I have expert snooping skills and I'm 99% sure I know who it is. I'll wait to see if a second package shows up first though. Either way... THANK YOU!

  25. So I got a message yesterday from @themeconspiracy that my Secret Santa sender had an envelope hidden in my package that I missed when I initially opened it. I opened it today and it's two tickets to see The Early November on The Mother, The Mechanic and The Path 10 year tour at Union Transfer in Philadelphia on January 14th! I'm super appreciative of such a thoughtful gift, I got to see them play on the Rooms Too Cold tour a couple years ago and they were great! However, I won't be in town on January 14th unfortunately. It's my birthday weekend and I already booked a trip to go to Pittsburgh with some friends for the weekend and celebrate. But I want to pay it forward and I'd love to pass the tickets along (it probably goes without saying but obviously for free!) to somebody who would like to go to the show! So if anybody reading this is interested in going to see The Early November on January 14th in Philly please send me a message and let me know. I just want somebody to go and have the great time that I wish I could have if I could make it. Thank you so much secret santa, my package is absolutely wonderful! I'm sad I won't be able to make it to the show but I will absolutely make sure that somebody else gets to enjoy the incredibly thoughtful gift. <3 EDIT: Found somebody to use the tickets! Thanks @Snaggle Von Swift!

  27. I opened mine on the 21st, just now getting around to posting!! What a GREAT SS package. I am so stoked on all of it. The first thing I see is the note with the hints and the gift explanations. You knocked it out of the park, got an Alabama cat toy, right on top and Oswald just loved it. Here's a picture with everything! Got the star wars/alabama shirt which is super cool. Love the Falcon 10", always had my eye on it but I just never pulled the trigger. Same story with that Gaslight anthem record. Only had a chance to listen to that protaganist cd and it just rips start to finish, based on the hints and the unwritten Law cd, my guess is @ozfacter and everything is so great man! I really love it and i'd give you a christmas hug if I could! Thank you! Bonus picture of Oswald stoned out of his mind protecting the football with his life.

  28. I'm running around a lot the next two days and I had a couple hours alone this afternoon before the craziness starts...so I opened my Secret Santa package a little early! No idea who it is, but thank you so much! Both of these are records that I've really wanted, I love the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack and I listen to it on my iPod all the time (favorite songs are Hang Me, Oh Hang Me and 500 Miles), but I never picked up the record before so to have it on vinyl is super exciting! The Charlie Brown Christmas album is particularly special to me though. My grandmom who was reaching the later stages of dementia passed away of cancer this past spring. In her room at the nursing home (which my granddad put her in when the dementia progressed beyond his ability to care for her at home) she had a CD boombox but no CDs. So, I took over a CD I thought might recognize through her foggy ability to remember anything - Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas". The last time I ever saw her we listened to this and Norah Jones' "Come Away with Me" and flipped through old photo books. It's a memory I'll have forever and I'm grateful to have the music that was the soundtrack to that memory on vinyl. Thanks Secret Santa, your presents mean more to me than you probably even realized. Excited to see what all ya'll who are waiting till Christmas to open your packages got. Happy holidays everyone and thanks for letting me be a part of Secret Santa for a second year!

  29. Working in a hospital, being stable in ICU doesn't exactly mean she was getting better. It usually means that her vitals weren't going to go south. Either way, you have to give credit to the off duty medical staff on the plane because she would have died on the plane then if it wasn't for them. Unfortunately there's only so much you can do. RIP.

  32. The Red Sea had typically been available in many different presses up until pretty recently and there were even copies left from earlier pressings when they did a repress around 2012 or 2013 which caused me to question why they even repressed it as it seemed like they couldn't move the copies that already existed. Mosquito Control however had been one of the more rare EP's from them even back in 2010 when I scored my first copy of it. I managed to score another one in 2011 for about $12 on eBay too. Anomalies like that will occur. Its a great EP. I'm glad there will be more around. And as expected from me I will express the sentiment of "I hope they press a black variant" because I would totally buy that granted its not some overpriced HH reissue. Pelican's recent City of Echoes HH reissue was a 2xLP and was a phenomenal price of between $18 and $24 depending on the vendor. Plus its an awesome press. And also to be expected, I located a black variant of that as well. BLACK VINYL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111ONE!!!!!!!!1!(*383@!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. I usually do want to see who mastered it. Are you aware how music production works? Keep buying your CDs on Vinyl. Still don't see how wanting to know who mastered the album is treating them as a "life investment".

  36. I had opened all my presents and was hype as fuck on all the cool shit I got. Then my mom was like "Oops...forgot to put this one under the tree..." and it was a god damn Sega. I lost my mind. Them that night we had a chimney fire and were stuck outside for a couple hours. All I wanted to do was play some Sonic. At one point I was like "The house isn't on fire and there are a bunch of firemen looking at the fireplace...just let me go play videogames and if anything happens they can just grab me and bring me to safety"
