    My turntable just died

Hmm a U Turn or a Crosley? let me think now That's got to be the most one sided question since do you want to eat chocolate or shit? Any Crosley is only good for target practice or use as a door stop, never ever under any circumstance put a record anywhere near one

  10. Taken from www.elusive-sound.com (look at those variants!!! Not mockups!) Berne, Switzerland, February 10, 2017: Elusive Sound is very proud to announce the release of Au Revoir’s “Veles” on vinyl in Europe. Pre-orders start Friday, February 17 at 20:00 Zurich time. Official release date March 3, 2017. Au Revoir are a heavy expansive instrumental rock five-piece from New Jersey. The band now consisting of Eric Annicchiarico, Tyler Mandich and Gregg Peterson on guitar, Carl Kranz on bass and Tyler Gilbert on drums have an exceptional ability to create sublime, expansive soundscapes and hypnotic crushing doom. After two solid releases in “In the Key Of Night” (2012) and “Black Hills” (2013) Au Revoir went into Backroom Studios with the intent of their next album sounding as huge as they do live. They have at long last not only accomplished that with Scot Moriarty but also produced an absolute stunner of an ever-evolving concept album that we immediately embraced and were determined to release in Europe. Au Revoir have reformed themselves as a huge serpent, coiling tightly around the roots that lead us into the wet underworld of Veles. It is not only a world of wet grassy plains and eternal spring but one where we find ourselves in the deepest of caverns, watched over by the ghosts of the dead, awaiting impending doom. Veles is richly bleak with decadence but the listener never succumbs or falls prey. He watches the ground ripple like water and feels an irresistable urge to be lost in Veles’ violent sway. Au Revoir have shed their old skin and are now full-bodied and in constant transformation, reborn as a lethally charged bringer of chaos. Veles unveils the descent of man into utter misery. When one stands and contemplates his fate, the troubles that have fallen, looks back at the path they have taken to reach their end, surrendering to their undoing by taking one last breath and bracing themselves for the full force of impact, as the water comes rushing over. The LP features stunning full artwork by Dylan Partridge and will be released on two high quality Gatefold coloured variants, Transmigration limited to 150 copies and Rebirth limited to 100 copies, featuring an additional numbered art-print by Dylan Partridge. Both variants will be sold via our official label website shop at http://elusive-sound.com/catalog/

  12. Just for the record I wasn't jumping down anyone's throat about anything. I genuinely had no idea what he meant by what he said. It just sounded kinda weird how he put it.

  14. Yeah, they included in my email that they would be repressing these as well, and that anybody who got their orders cancelled would be given priority on the represses. Not sure if that just means we'll be given advance warning before they go up or if we'll have an exclusive window to order, but it does make me feel a little better about the whole situation. I do hope it's another cool color variation though. I love pretty records.

  15. Got the signed copy by Justin Hurwitz and Atom Tickets ran a promo where if you were one of the first 100 who bought tickets to La La Land within a certain time you could win a signed copy by Damien Chazelle. Pretty stoked to have been picked but it got a little dinged up in shipping. Nevertheless, I'm beyond grateful. http://imgur.com/a/lTBP4

  16. Some notable deals from the seller mentioned above. Day of the Dead 10LP set ~$35 Ryan Adams - Heartbreaker 4LP set ~$18 Eric Clapton - Studio Albums 9LP set ~$39 I mentioned this in the Grateful Dead thread but it looks like the seller doesn't have the best track record. Lots of negative/neutral feedback about not sending items or wrong items set. But then again, lots of positive feedback too.

  23. I didn't think about that until right after I posted that comment, so apologies. I felt like an idiot saying that. I think that has been a pretty usual thing for me for a while which is why I typically refrain from posting these days. The price isn't too bad when looking at it that way... I imagine I will probably pick it up soon.

  26. So much good stuff!!! Just going to list breweries that I'd recommend trying something from : Fremont Brewing, Holy Mountain, Georgetown (I'm not a big fan of Manny's, but almost everyone loves it. You can find it everywhere. Other stuff is quite good), Boneyard and Fort George Brewing are what came to mind. You'll find there's no shortage of great breweries here! I really liked it. It has such a dynamite cast!

  28. This is of course a question more specific to @jbannon of course...but as I sit here and listen to the two WYW tracks thus far ("Goodbye Old Friend" and "Wear Your Wounds"), I can't help but wonder and be curious as to how the WYW project evolved and changed from whatever it originated from. I'm mostly curious because of being a big fan of the work in Supermachiner and all that it entailed being such a disparate and unique expression from anything that is Converge.

  39. I'm running around a lot the next two days and I had a couple hours alone this afternoon before the craziness starts...so I opened my Secret Santa package a little early! No idea who it is, but thank you so much! Both of these are records that I've really wanted, I love the Inside Llewyn Davis soundtrack and I listen to it on my iPod all the time (favorite songs are Hang Me, Oh Hang Me and 500 Miles), but I never picked up the record before so to have it on vinyl is super exciting! The Charlie Brown Christmas album is particularly special to me though. My grandmom who was reaching the later stages of dementia passed away of cancer this past spring. In her room at the nursing home (which my granddad put her in when the dementia progressed beyond his ability to care for her at home) she had a CD boombox but no CDs. So, I took over a CD I thought might recognize through her foggy ability to remember anything - Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas". The last time I ever saw her we listened to this and Norah Jones' "Come Away with Me" and flipped through old photo books. It's a memory I'll have forever and I'm grateful to have the music that was the soundtrack to that memory on vinyl. Thanks Secret Santa, your presents mean more to me than you probably even realized. Excited to see what all ya'll who are waiting till Christmas to open your packages got. Happy holidays everyone and thanks for letting me be a part of Secret Santa for a second year!
