Tax return showed up today, so just paid off the last of my student loan. I'm not debt free, and it feels amazing. Now to get over this anxiety issue and get the fuck out of Ohio.

Peeked on Discogs and found the variant being sold, which has gone for $75 at most. Nice try, OP. But that didn't sate my curios mind. I had to know why someone could justify paying $75 for an album with such an atrocious title. Surely the music must be incredible – lesson learned. Yes. Nah man. Black vinyl won't wow the 80 people who will eventually watch their YouTube video where they hold up the 6 records they purchased in 2017 so far, slide the variants halfway out, and talk about their favorite track or where they ordered them.

I'm going to play devil's advocate for a sec...I think people are just disappointed their first pressing purchase, which was supposedly the only pressing of this, has turned out to not be the the only pressing and a newer, more limited, and perhaps more appealing pressing has appeared. That's understandable...to an extent. But think about this: I'm guessing most, if not all, of us here really like Mae and are excited they're putting out new music and seem to be active once again (<---focus on this last sentence, mostly). And if we're all being honest, we know being in Mae isn't financially lucrative and these guys more than likely make less money than many of us do here. With that in mind, I think them making available another 500 copies of the (m)(a)(e) album should be seen less a slap in the face/broken promise/misleading/whatever or however you feel...and more as a band making a decision most of us would make were we grown adults in a relatively small band like Mae--press some more copies and make a little more money (gasp) and make a few more folks happy who missed the first pressing. If that's going to help these guys continue making music and being an active band again, maybe we should all be willing to let go of the disappointment/deep betrayal we feel and see this for what it is: a band we love is making music again and that's a great reason to...let it go.

Huh, I guess I always assumed you were like 15 or something. I don't mean that in a mean way, just an observation. The opposite side of that is my experience. My wife and I got engaged when we were 21 and in our junior year at college. I thought it was cool that we got to grow together a bit before our personalities and interests became a bit more cemented, which studies show happens in your later 20s. So there's that. We were also broken up when I proposed. Our 3rd breakup over the course of about a year. It was the first serious relationship for either of us. And then we were only engaged for about 6 weeks before the wedding... Im realizing right now that I might not be the best person to give people relationship advice.

Yeah scheduled release is next friday so its way early. I may have got mine earlier as its an overseas order and as such i have glorious red coat privilege. Album is a total beast and will not disappoint.

oh hey, i had no idea people on here paid attention to Leaaves! i'm not sure about a repress, but if there's some demand, i'll definitely look into it. for now, Spare No Expanse (www.sparenoexpanse.bandcamp.com) has two other tapes out. and i've got copies of some other Leaaves releases on my bandcamp (www.leaaves.bandcamp.com).

I have looked into this a little further. It looks like importcds/ccmusic/deepdiscount/oddbanana all share a common heritage with the big California distributor Super D (www.sdcd.com). I am not sure how all of the shipments coming from Kentucky figure into it., but I see that many other types of businesses also have warehouses in the Louisville / Shepherdsville area. It must be their proximity to the big UPS hub there.

Totally, this is a huge piece of it for me too. At least when he was singing about pudgy ugly dudes and hipsters on AFP it was more lamentable instead of angry/spiteful. Everything he does now just seeps with hate for everyone and himself and then as a result the few moments of light on albums stick out like sore thumbs. I totally can jive with the self-hate/hate of everything nihilism stuff, but it's just not a fun listen. Especially not in this type of setting.

Its a repress. Sounds good to me, I mean, none of these were beautifully recorded in the first place but the background is black and there's no over driven sound. Like a lot of dub represses, they seem to be mixed "hot" which I personally don't mind as it adds a sense of excitement to the recording. Obviously I'm no purist.
