#25 Televised Everyone who participated: Thank you. I know some of you put in some serious money and it hasn't gone unnoticed. We raised $410 for a very worthy young man to get an education. That is 2/3 of what was needed for a full year of school. I am really proud to have run this contest and I'm even prouder to say that a lot of people, mostly strangers, saw the worthiness of this cause and went to bat. We turned what are essentially material items - records, comics, movies etc - into, without exaggeration, giving a kid a shot at a future no one in his family has attained or been given an opportunity to attain. That's incredible. Thank You. I will post more updates when I get them.

I finished last night! I can't fucking believe I did that. I missed I think three workouts, but so be it. This is one of my proudest accomplishments. I had some awesome improvements in the fitness test. The last few exercises saw the biggest jumps because I wasn't half dead by the time I got to the end of the workout. One 7" away from having the KD discog on vinyl, yes. I still need one Delusion 7" (I'm in talks for it now) and a Miracle of 86 LP to have the full vinyl discog from all of his past/current bands. A decent handful of them are in transit now though so I'm not counting any chickens yet.

What I would give for another Introducing Foxy pressing though...

I really really want Foxy Shazam's self titled album on vinyl... I've got the other two but the self titled still remains my favorite..

I shop in nyc record stores quite a bit.. (*in no order) 1. Manhattan - Other Music (as mentioned) it's great for experimental and new indie. 2. Manhattan - Kim's - terribly managed but has some nice stuff and some interesting new stuff. 3. Manhattan - Generation Records - great new punk and hardcore, not a ton of old stuff at all. 4. Academy (2 shops in NYC, 1 in BK) go to the Brooklyn one (it's moving as of Oct.).. great used stuff 5. Brooklyn - Record Grouch - some really nice used and new stuff but be careful I know that the dude there will put out scratched stuff or mislabeled shit. 6. Brooklyn - Permanent Records - meh.. sometimes ok stuff 7. Brooklyn - Human Head - Travis who works / own this place is on here, it's a good shop with some really nice finds on there.. 8. Brooklyn - Black Gold - a friend's shop that really specializes in some cool indie stuff from the 90's / 00's also, turntable lab and living in stereo have some really nice hip hop stuff in Manhattan outside of the city there is vintage vinyl in NJ, Clockwork Records near White Plains and a few other great shops.

after hating the ending so much that i refused to play it pretty much since it came out, i've finally downloaded all the new stuff for Mass Effect 3 and starting a second play through. we'll see if the directors cut and added content help me fall in love with the series again.

It's such a major release though that I'm shocked not one user on the site has seen it or know any information on it.

I don't know why anyone would a) want to sell it and then not send the payment once agreed upon, but much love for this album. It's my favorite of theirs, and I have a copy of each pressing :-)

If I don't see prices I don't even bother looking through the list.

My copy fell off my shelf last night and suffered a hellacious 4 inch seam split at the top. Fuckin USPS, man.

The terrible sound quality of the black vinyl isn't because of the pressing. The mastering of this album is terrible and compressed to all hell. The CD version sounds even worse than the black vinyl. I highly doubt a colored pressing will improve the sound quality.

I can't afford a lot of things in life I'd like, deal with it and learn that there is more to life than buying loads of shit.

what's more annoying is the "check my list and send me offers" messages... bad enough I need to price your records out for you, but then i have to send a bunch of messages to find out you are actually willing to sell 5 records out of your list of 500 and then I have to argue about a price...

As a DBack fan, I'm not that pissed off about it. They won the division, let them celebrate. I'd be a little bit more worried about figuring how to contend with the highest payroll team than about who's using your pool. I do understand though people being pissed off about it. You don't use your opponents facilities to celebrate aside from the locker room.

We should probably start a betting pool to figure out which member of VC it is.
