This one is dedicated on ONTRAC, the world's best delivery service. Instead of wondering what was inside my package, like I do with most deliveries, OnTrac provided me with a neat preview hole in the center of the box. As soon as I lifted the record, I could feel all the great classic Nirvana tracks swooshing around inside. The store listing said 5 pieces were included but I got 7. That's TWO extra pieces of record for free. I will have to assume that OnTrac negotiated these additional bonus shards for me, as a way of saying thanks for using their service for my record shopping. Yeah. I framed the record instead of listening to it. I have Spotify if I want to hear Pennyroyal Tea on the acoustic guitar. To me, vinyl is physical art and, thanks to OnTrac, I am able to hang my art proudly in all it's compartmentalized glory.

I've actually traced a lot of products back to their corporate owners and ceased buying them immediately. Fuck anything that puts money into Nestle's hands. It's honestly a really important thing to do.

I had one where I pretended to follow all the steps exactly. After about 20 minutes he asked me what I saw on the screen. I told him all I saw was just a bunch of kitten pictures and maybe his technical support wasnt working because I was using a Mac. He blew up and started screaming at me.

http://www.last.fm/user/sidewinder03 I've been scrobbling religiously since 2006 - from iTunes, iPhone, Spotify, and anytime I listen to an album on vinyl or CD on something other than my computer, I'll scrobble it afterwards. 233,217 scrobbles to date. They really fucked up the launch of the site overhaul. REALLY fucked up, and lost a lot of users in the process. Since then, they've slowly brought back a lot of features, but the damage was already done. Some of the things that still piss me off to this day: Complete lack of social integration on home and profile pages. There is no way to see what others are listening to and strike up conversation without going to individual people's profiles. And without some kind of feed, what draws you to anyone's profile? Not much. Really, really dumb move on their part, when a feed of some sort would be really easy to implement. The forums are on a separate site now and focused purely on support. You even need a different login. Again, no social aspect to this. Inability to add events. I used to use the site to keep track of upcoming shows I was interested in. Now, still no way to add stuff, which means nothing's there. Recommendations: There used to be a visible bio for each artist, now it's just the image and similar artists, and you have to click in to read anything about the band. Also you can't dismiss recommendations anymore. They just stay there and update once in a while. The "Live" page widgets are fucking useless as they focus on trending music that has nothing to do with your own interests. If only this was catered to individual users' tastes and their friends, this would be a REALLY cool page, and where social interaction would be initiated. They totally dropped the ball here. So all that said, they've made some unfathomably stupid decisions over the last few years, but I'm still a music nerd and like to see my own stats. My ultimate dream would be if Spotify bought last.fm (still allowing you to scrobble via iTunes and the like, of course) as they're doing much cooler stuff with data, and actually care more about social integration even though they still have a ways to go too.

As a union guy I will not go to Wal-mart, Staples, McDonald's and a few other places. I have tried to cut down spending money at some other places too but you can't be perfect. Any places that you refuse to spend money? Why?

They will end up sending me about 7 different shipments. 14 releases for 188 bucks shipped is a good deal

I worked at 2 Targets over the course of about 3 years (hardlines for the most part). I actually really enjoyed working there aside from the ridiculous rude people that always shopped there. to answer the OP, i'll shop anywhere if they have something I want for the best price or good food that I'm in the mood for. they're just a means to an end and I don't have to agree with their work ethic/political or religious stance/etc.
