I don't know if this qualifies as awesome to most of y'all, but a few weeks ago, I came across a sealed copy of my favorite Christmas album (An Evening in December by First Call, an old Christian a cappella group) at the Goodwill closest to my house. A lot of people probably wouldn't like it, especially now since it's 30 years old, but my family listened to it multiple times almost every holiday season when I was a kid. My dad lost his CD copy years ago, and I literally had no idea they'd pressed it onto vinyl, so needless to say I was ecstatic. It's one of those few albums that can make me feel hardcore nostalgia every single time I listen to it. Not even lying, I almost started tearing up when the needle hit the record and the first song started playing. So yeah, it was a very, very awesome find for me.

IMO, the answer to a flawed candidate is to vote for the platform you'd like to see furthered OR to vote for the candidate who is most likely to further or maintain the social values and principles you align with, so that in 4 or 8 years there is still a working foundation to place our next advancements. To champion a backwards political party with clear intentions of reversing social progress, seemingly to make a point of how serious one is about hating Hillary Clinton and her crimes, feels like burning one's home down to rid it of a pipe leak. There seems to be a lot of anger and temptation to burrow one's self into an ideological foxhole built on concepts like "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and "the eradication of Clinton justifies all means" and it feels misplaced and not self-serving or in one's best interests. Hillary Clinton will be in a cemetery in 10+ years. The effects of putting in a political party that is chomping at the bit to reverse social progress and institutionalize ignorance about science and critical thought will be felt for much longer than 10 years into the future. Just my thoughts as an actor/projector of crooked Hillary's camp.

The problem with Republicans not being able to attract anyone under the age of 50 is that their meme attempts are all abominations. Look at that fucking thing. It's a goddamn disaster. How does this happen?

I'm friends with a dude on social media who plays in a band that's pretty popular on VC. He posted a status update saying he wanted to drag racists and anti-gay christians into the streets and beat them to death. The insane amount of hearts and likes that post got was really unnerving. But yeah... The party of peace and such.

I have to imagine that many of those sales will be failed attempts at hoarding/flipping. You can get a several copies of this for $25-30 shipped on Discogs right now and I can't imagine that there will be a sudden demand that would warrant 1,500 copies to be sold while those black copies sit on the digital Discogs shelves. We'll see though!

Ok, I caved. I listened to the leak. Let me just say up-front that the three released tracks - which I really loved when they were put out - don't hold a candle to the last two. The opener is gorgeous, "Mota" and "Afrika" keep the energy up in typical RC fashion, "Overboard" quiets things down, and then "Calla" and "Lisboa" just destroy everything remaining. At the risk of degenerating into Gumbo-type effusiveness, I'll stop here, but anyone waiting can rest assured that this is a phenomenal output.

Finally broke down and ordered a copy of MCR - Three Cheer because I don't have any pink records. To get myself over the free shipping threshold and make myself feel better about my taste in music I ordered the Pornography reissue that's coming up too. Plus like...why not? I'll probably eventually grab all those reissues from The Cure. Now if they'll just do Bloodflowers...

I dig it! Got mine in yesterday. The packaging is really cool. I'll miss not having something to read on the spine, but the concept and numbering looks really cool. I put the record between the insert and cover piece as well. Seems to do the job just fine.

I'm waiting for physical media to listen to the whole thing, but the first two tracks are quite a bit different than earlier works. Especially the last album. I could see why some folks mightn't be as enthused about this as they were hoping to be. Nailed it. That's exactly what it is, LE.
